Walking in, the décor immediately stood out--sleek, inviting, and dimly lit with a moody, intimate vibe. We were seated right away on a Tuesday evening without reservations. Our table for four was near the dry-age cabinet, and honestly, seeing all that aged meat was exciting. We ordered the guacamole with fried pork belly, steak fries (two orders because they were that good), three 30-day dry-aged ribeyes (rare, medium rare, and medium), and the Salad Riviera with sliced skirt steak. The pork belly was crispy and tender, and the steaks were juicy, well seasoned, and cooked exactly as ordered. The salad had great texture and balance, though the skirt steak itself was unfortunately a bit dry. The spicy chimichurri was a standout--bright, herby, spicy, and totally addictive. I loved it with the steak and even used it on the salad. Jose was our waiter and was upbeat, attentive, and genuinely made the experience better. Tip: Try the Riesling--it's so good. Not my fav but not the worst one I've been to either. Fillets were really good, as were the beans, rice, corn and pasta. The chorizo cheese 'fondue' was good. Cocktails are reasonably priced, the wine (by the glass) are laughably overpriced. The aged ribeye was horrible; way too fatty and undercooked (the stone wasn't hot enough to finish off the pieces I cut so had to use my wife's stone to even get some edible pieces). Yes we could have sent it back but service was already incredibly slow and we didn't want one of us to have to just sit there while the rest of us ate. NOBODY likes doing that (nor should we have to). Our waitress kept forgetting to bring us requested items (silverware, drinks, napkins). The whole experience was subpar and not worth the almost $400 (including tip). These types of 'Mexican steakhouses' are hit & miss for sure - this one's a miss. read more

I'd been wanting to try this place for quite some time. The reviews are good and the food looks delicious. The evening I showed up (on a weeknight) there were no other patrons in the restaurant. There was a loud alarm going off and a skyjack in the middle of the restaurant. The hostess explained they were attempting to fix the wi-fi. The restaurant is decorated authentically and has a relaxed, southwestern vibe. There were no servers to be seen and the bartender ended up waiting on me while I sat in the restaurant section. She stated the server was running behind but I never saw a single server during my visit. I ordered a dry aged Rib-Eye steak with grilled asparagus. The presentation was wonderful but the steak seemed "off". It was grainy, tough and didn't taste like the usual rib-eyes I've been accustomed to. I chalked it up to the aging process and the dipping sauces and took the rest home. For dessert, I tried the Cajeta Churro Affogato. It was good, better than the steak, and I decided to chalk the visit up to the possibility that they were just having an "off" night. Unfortunately, it wasn't just that. The steak was, indeed, OFF. By the next morning, my stomach hurt so badly that I was doubled over in pain for several hours. I won't go into the other details. I REALLY wanted to enjoy this steakhouse. The ambience was great, the bartender managed to keep the restaurant open, despite whatever was going on...and provide good service so they get votes for that. I give the food a 5/5, the guac being my favorite! My least favorite was the prices for some of the items like a tiny portion of rice was $7!!! That to me is WILD. The soda and juice is like $7 with refills but if you only drink one, it's not worth it. The steak comes with veggies on the side. I wish the side was our choice. This is very much a group dinner or special occasion spot, and we came with a party of 8 for my mom's birthday, which felt like exactly the right move for the space. The ambiance is upscale and moody with dim lighting, a modern music mix, and a full meat display where you can see the cuts before they hit the table, which I loved. It really sets the tone and raises expectations as soon as you walk in. The food is where Vue shines. The elote was a perfect 10 out of 10, creamy, flavorful, and with just the right kick. No notes, would order every single time. The Vue steak was also a 10 out of 10 and truly massive. We're talking basically 50 ounces of steak meant for sharing and absolutely meant for leftovers. It was cooked beautifully and packed with flavor. Cutting it was a little challenging simply because of the size, but honestly worth it. Pro tip, this is a meal prep dream. Take it home and turn it into tacos for the rest of the week. The bone marrow came in at an 8 out of 10, rich, savory, and well seasoned. Solid and comforting. The aguachile was another 10 out of 10, bright, refreshing, balanced, and honestly perfection. There wasn't a weak dish on the table. Everything delivered. Service is where you'll need some patience. Portions are very large and very shareable, so come hungry and expect leftovers. The cost is on the higher end, but between the portion sizes and the quality, it still feels like solid value, especially for groups and celebrations. Parking is easy with plenty of space, the dining room is large with bar seating available, and the bathrooms have an industrial vibe. The space felt comfortable for a big party. His service 5/5 It does however go very very downhill from there. We got the aged demonico. Our server explained it was one of the best cuts of meat they have. It was FULL of silver meat. It wasn't tender and took a really long time to cut it. We asked for our steak medium rare it came out on a sizzling plate which after a few minutes our server said to put it on our plate so it would stop cooking. (Usually when I've been to these types of restaurants they undercook it so that it can be left on the stone but ok. It was closer to medium by then. The flavor was good...but it was very tough. We got the potato as a side. It was ok. Nothing special and the foil wouldn't come off the potato so half of it was left behind. I did not know that Vue had taken over the bar that my friend and I went too. This is so close to where all of them live so I was okay driving here for an early birthday dinner. Space is large and smells of steak. I do think they need better ventilation but I'm also not someone that knows anything about buildings haha. Dined in 1/5/2025 in the evening for my best friends birthday. Food was great and service by Manuel was amazing. He was very attentive despite taking care of all the tables on the floor by himself that night. However, I rlly have to say the manager lady with the short hair and glasses has a terrible attitude. We brought in a cake since it was my best friends birthday and she promptly walked up to our table immediately after being seated and just said "you can't eat the cake here, I'm going to put it in the fridge". Didn't even give us a second to respond or didn't even welcome us in or anything. Mind you it was only us and maybe 3/4 other parties in the whole restaurant during dinner. I work in hospitality and food service and seeing a manager speak to guests that way is how you lose customers forever. We've been here multiple times for birthdays and never had any problem with bringing cake. If we aren't allowed cake, that's okay! Just please be more respectful about it instead of yanking our cake away. She didn't even wish her a happy birthday or anythinggggggg it was genuinely one of the most confusing moments we've had at a restaurant it was so fast and rude! I completely understand if it were slammed in there but it was really empty and slow. So this kind of service and attitude is just unacceptable. I'm pretty sure the previous time we've visited she made a comment towards my same friend about how she looked with Asian flush and wouldn't stop asking and made her uncomfortable too. You wouldn't miss them driving along Kent Kangley heading to Covington, as their flame decor makes the restaurant pretty hard to miss. The restaurant when entering is lovely, warm, spacious and sets the mood for any type of gathering with family, friends and or date. The other thing that made my experience go well, were the servers. They were knowledgeable about the menu and it seems as she liked the food there, too. I'm glad that my family I came here to enjoy their many choices steak! For myself, I had the filet mignon, charred lemon drop and of course I had to try the bone marrow. The lemon drop was perfect! Sweet and sour! The filet mignon, was good , juicy and came out perfectly, medium rare. Lately, the bone marrow is very tasty, too. Creamy, salty, and I liked how they topped it with Cotija cheese. Food: All steaks ordered medium rare, but cooked very quickly to medium well on the stone after arriving at the table. We didn't have much room to move the meat off the stone. Probably best to order your meat rare if you don't want well-done results. - Shrimp & fish ceviche: Yummy - Ribeye: Would've been better if not cooked more than we liked - Skirt steak: Thinner than expected - Matrimonio (NY strip & whole lobster): Same comments about the overcooking Ambiance: Not good for romantic dates as the restaurant was loud and bright. Reservation was for 8:30, on Saturday, we arrived early, were seated immediately and were tended to until the rest of our party arrived. Restaurant wasn't busy at all; maybe five tables and two women at the bar. The customer service was great. Our server, young lady whose name started with an A, was wonderful and very apologetic about the meal. We appreciated that. The apps, Queso Fondue with chorizo and guacamole with crispy pork belly, were amazing, so delicious! Crazy good to be honest. Now, let's get to the entrees...Um, no thank you and we will not eat here again. The online menu says 20oz pork chop served grilled or crispy , $32. The restaurant menu listed 16oz for the same price. We were all excited about the crispy pork chop with the rind crispy like advertised. Nope, that's not what we got. We ordered crispy, all three came out grilled. The rind was soft, inedible, and the flavor was off. I sent mine back because I wanted it crispy. What did they do? They brought back the same pork chop twice without it being crispy, only dried out and overcooked. The thin end was extra crispy, hard because it was overcooked from the beginning. The steak fries were pretty soggy, zucchini overcooked and flavor less. I tried the moisten the meat with the chimichurri to no avail. The pork chop was an epic failure and I don't recognize it at all. Nor do I recommend the Molcajete Mixto, which is what my sis-in-law and nephew had. Blah, blah and why? It tasted like it was the end of the night and everyone was tired. Honestly, that's what our entire meals, except for the appetizers, tasted like it was the end of the night and everyone was tired, the chef was tired. After eating the little bit I ate, my stomach was queasy, and I was nauseous during my ride home. I barely made it through the door before I had to purge my stomach and was sick through to the next day. I don't know what happened with my pork chop, but my getting sick said it all. My chop was comped, my mother's wasn't and she hardly ate it. My brother has a stomach of steel and was hungry, his family didn't say anything about their food and opted not to come back instead.
