Deep in the industrial part of Kent pops up this random night club that is open for lunch. Looks 'authentic' and so we give it a try. The morning after a hard night is the vibe. From the back a voice is heard as we seat ourselves. A cordial welcoming with complimentary chips and salsa. Before we have a look over the menu, a strong suggestion to try their charcoal chicken and so we did. Somewhat good char flavor, a bit cold so it was already prepared. Let's be real: there is A LOT going on here. This building is HUGE and contains what looks to be an old night club? The restaurant is off to the right though door that looks like it belongs in the suburbs. Inside is beautiful chaos: swag everywhere, pride flags, baseball swag, corona swag, if it's free from a beer distributor, it in this establishment. Bet. There's a stage (?) on floor level with a giant screen playing Romanticas playlist on YouTube. Speaking of screens, there are 3 GIANT flatscreens behind the counter and 12 elsewhere mounted on the ceiling ...but none of them have an HDMI signal. It's incredible. The food: pretty good for real. I got the nachos, a shrimp burrito and my friends got enchilada and burritos. The staff was kind, it's in a weird part of town with mostly industrial parks - give it a shot. read more

I have my husband to thank for discovering El Piketon and their amazing chilaquiles. He found them while waiting for me to finish a facial down that way. When I saw what he had for breakfast, we went back so I could order my own. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere in the industrial area of Kent, El Piketon is a nightclub that is open for breakfast. If that's not enough to pique your curiosity, I encourage you to pass by and take a look at the building and the parking lot. It's not the kind of place you'd ever expect to have rockin' food. It kind of reminds me of strip clubs that used to serve T-bone steaks for lunch back in the day when I lived in Atlanta. Inside is a restaurant and dance floor. There are large screen TVs. There's some sort of PA system, maybe for karaoke. And there was the surprising smell of cleanliness - like they had just cleaned everything for the day. The guy at the front was friendly and efficient when I placed my order. The food came out about ten minutes later. We must have been among the first customers of the day because nobody else was there. The kitchen serves Peruvian and Mexican food. I got the same as my husband: a plate of chilaquiles with rice and beans. What I loved about it: it's not spicy, the tortillas were **hand cut**, and the rice and beans were house made. Crunchy, flavorful, perfection. If you don't actively seek out chilaquiles, you wouldn't know how incredibly rare a find this is in the greater Seattle area. I want to come back for a lunch date sometime soon - I want to try their Peruvian food and also give them some business - I hope this hidden gem never goes away! read more

I'm so glad we stopped here last night for dinner. The food was good, we ate outside with our dog (See pic), and the customer service was terrific! Now to break it down further. This location has had many different establishments over the years. It could be that there is no anchor store nearby and you really have to know that the food and atmosphere is worth stopping in. I would have to say I was a little confused on exactly what type of food they specialize in. Mexican? Peruvian? BBQ? Not sure??? But I do know the taste was good, there was a lot of it, and the whole vibe was good with music and a large BBQ grill out front. Due to the COVID 19 social distancing, Mask's were worn by the staff, tables were more than 6 feet away, and hand sanitizer was available. We will be back to try more than the nachos and enchiladas (See pics) as the picture menu showed some very appetizing dishes and we know now that the flavors were delicious! read more

So, we were driving down the street looking for something we hadn't tried. Out of the corner of our eyes, we saw this place and decided to give it a try. We did not know it was Mexican/Peruvian, as 'El' is not on the sign and 'Piketon' sounds decidedly non-Spanish. Anyway, we walked into a nearly empty restaurant on Saturday evening with TV screens and music blaring from the completely empty bar attached. Ok. The waitress seated us promptly, but always addressed us in Spanish. Even after learning we don't speak Spanish, she continued to do so, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Most of our service was provided by a man on the side who seemed to be the 'real' waiter. We ordered Bistec a la pobre and Dinner Carnitas. The man was careful to explain that since it is dinner, it will be dinner-sized portions, not lunch. I found that odd that he explained it, but it was fine. Food arrived very promptly, easily less than 10 minutes after we ordered it. In general food taste was ok, the kind of food you might get if your Mexican neighbor invited you over to share with his family. Not great, not bad. Food portions were very large, and priced accordingly, around 20 dollars per plate. Service was ok, they checked on us frequently to make sure we were fine (seeing as we were one of only 3 active tables I think that's reasonable) The table does have call butons on case we need service immediately, but we did not have to use it. we left feeling full with plenty of food. So why 3 stars? well, it was a bit pricey. The waitress who couldn't or wouldn't speak English was off-putting. The atmosphere was uncomfortable and poorly decorated, and brightly lit so you could see exactly how plain this place is. I didn't see the reviews for this place until after I left, so the lesson to learn is: always read reviews before deciding. but whatever. The place is not bad, but I will likely never eat here again. It's done, it happened, but it's nothing special and not worth the price in my opinion. I wish the proprietors the best of luck, but this is not for me. read more

Tried out this restaurant for the first time. I know this place is somewhat new, but the staff needs a little more training. It wasn't super busy at the time. Some of waitresses can be seen just standing around talking amongst each other. Got our food (2 beef dinner burritos, 1 carnitas plate and a half chicken), but was only given forks. So we asked for knives to the first waitress who was just walking around. She got us forks, which we already had. We corrected her and asked again. Yeah she never got us the knives. She just walked away. So we waited a while get our waitresses attention, and asked for some, it took her a long while, but eventually got it. Once we started eating, we realized one of the beef burritos was just pretty much all rice and barely any meat. Huge disappointment. The chicken and carnitas plates was decent. After the meal, we needed boxes because the portions are pretty huge. So we asked the first waitress for boxes cus she was just walking around as usual. What does she do? Tell our waitress, who was already busy, that we needed boxes, and so the chick literally just stood there by the kitchen just talking. Took us a long wait for those boxes, but eventually, got it. Oh also the waitress rung up our credit card for the wrong table, even though she gave us the correct bill Overall, I'm not entirely sure if I'll ever be back. Location-wise is convenient, but service is slow and they need to get it together. OH! And they're sitting big groups together. There was a group of 9 guys. I got attracted to this place by the irresistible BBQ station in the front every time I drive by. Looked like a fiesta all the time :) Decided to stop here for a "quick lunch" last Sunday with my boyfriend. It wasn't that quick since they forgot to punch in our order when we got reseated outdoor. I had to remind them and they were quick to serve our drinks & food after that. Maybe it's a Sunday and people come here to chill, eat & drink and not in a rush :) What's not on the menu, is the $15-bbq meal (chicken or ribs). Lot of people order it and the portions look huge. I'll try it next time for sure. Now for the food we actually got, it's different if you expect to have Mexican cuisine here. It's actually Peruvian. Pretty delicious and cheap. The tacos were huge and overfilled with delicious shrimp (not that I'm complaining here ). The menu is filled with tasty-looking seafood dishes that I might need to look up on Google what they are before ordering it next time. I wish the staff could educate newbie guests like me more, by suggesting what to try and telling us what Peruvian cuisine is like. Bonus point for having hand sanitizer in every table and entrance. As others have mentioned, the smoke on the corner caught our attention and boy, are we glad it did. Our visit was 1pm-ish on a Tuesday. This was our first indoor, sit-down meal since COVID so let's start with that: they are 100% in line with current guidelines. Gloves, super-clean tables, masks, signs, spacing, single-serve condiments, all of it. Super friendly and attentive wait staff. Really upbeat and happy. Portions were more than enough. Keto Hubby got the parihuela: obviously the freshest of seafood went in the stock (scallops, king crab leg, giant prawn, shrimp, white fish, squid & a mussel) and it came out all the better for it. I'm somewhat ashamed to admit I got the fish and chips (I know, that's not even in the same genre as everything else they serve) because Keto Hubby has meant I haven't had an opportunity to have fish and chips in months and have been absolutely craving it so even with all the options on their menu I stopped right there. I have to say it was some of the lightest, crispiest, cleanest-tasting batter (close to a quality, authentic tempura) I've had in ages. Nice, firm fresh-tasting fish. Meal was just the fish and standard fries and I'm fine with that. The hot sauce served with corn chips was a pleasant detour from regular tomato/onion salsa. The peppers used in it are a medium heat (it plateaus even if you eat a bunch) and mildy fruity tasting without being sweet. Restrooms were clean and tidy. All in all if I'd been able to have a few beers or a giant margarita and been able to flop myself into a tepid pool afterwards I could have convinced myself I was on vacation, it was that authentic. We're not in Kent often but will make a point to go back. They've opened at a difficult time so we wish them all the best in their endeavor. Good job, guys! read more

Came here to try a new place out and to enjoy a day out with my family but I had ordered a Plato de Ceviche and there was literally only 4 little cut up pieces of shrimp and an overwhelming amount of Cucumber and when I mentioned to the server she immediately put the blame on me saying why I didn't mention this sooner but I was enjoying tacos before I ate the Tostada so I didn't notice right away and on the plus side she hadn't came to check on my table since dropping off the food and when I asked if I could just remove it even though I didn't eat anything they refused to take out. I took my family to this restaurant for first time today.This was not a good experience for our family. I want to say that this restaurant could have offered a different dish or a discount if my wife and daughter were not happy with the food but instead the waitress just demanded that we pay immediately and when we were looking for 11cents to complete the bill $56.11. The waitress looked at my wife and smiled and said "you can just keep that so you don't need to cry anymore" I found this to be extremely Rude. This is Very Bad Customer Service Please believe we don't have a problem paying for Hot delicious Food When you get cold ,uncooked food that has add ons that are not tradiitional to the meal you ordered then maybe the waitress or owners should honor a different dish or discount. We always past by this place and wanted to give it a shot. We ordered the full rack of ribs and 1/2 chicken. When my husband was trying to take apart the chicken he was having a very hard time. I then took a look at it and found that it was completely RAW!!! We told the server and he took the raw chicken and returned with another chicken that was really dry. The full rack of ribs were very dry and tough, difficult to chew on. The only thing edible were the French fries and beans. When we got the bill they charged us for the raw chicken. We told them are you really going to charge us for the raw chicken, they replied that the couldn't remove it from the bill. They ended up giving us slight discount. read more

The dancing portion is fun! That's the only reason for the 2 stars but that's completely separate from the service. Super rude staff, specially from management. I was looking forward to having good food and dancing for my birthday. But that was ruined by the the lady who said she was the owner. So slow and rude. I've only had the ground beef and steak tacos with the green sauce but it's so good I don't bother trying anything else. The flavor and meat is always consistent and well cooked. Not dry or tough. Both red and green sauce are super spicy but really good. I can't speak on anything else they have unfortunately. read more

We work in the area and have wanted to try the restaurant for long. Stopped by for a group lunch, the food and service was fantastic. Started with chips and an incredible salsa, so flavorful. Was going to order a Mexican dish, but decided to ask the waitress for suggestion. She suggested the Lomo Saltado and it was terrific. Tried a variety of sauces and they were all incredible, very tasty with just a bit of a kick. The group tried a variety of dishes and we all agreed that they were full of flavor and very good. Been driving past this place too many times and had to stop and get something. Unfortunately, we weren't able to dine-in, so we ordered take out. We got the BBQ ribs. It comes with lots of French fries and some salsa. The fries were pretty good while fresh but after 30 minutes, it not that good anymore which is typical for fries. The BBQ was pretty good with the three different spice level of salsa. However, we expected a little more unique on the BBQ. It tasted nothing more than a piece of meat throw on the grill. This is the most disgusting food I've ever eaten in my life. Carne asada? No pre cooked then frozen then microwaved or held in a water bath wrapped in plastic. The beans are literally refried beans out of a can and the rice is plain white rice. The tortillas were also bought from I'm guessing a food discount place that's specialized in selling expired food. Don't waste your money. There are plenty of authentic Mexican restaurants in the area that don't taste like frozen rewarmed freezer burnt freezer scum. read more

But today I wanted to order food for my lunch and when I called, I was informed that they no longer take any phone orders and they do not provide any way to place orders on their website. WHAT THE $&@! IS THAT?? So you're telling me that on my 30 minute lunch break, if I want to eat El Piketon, I have to drive 10 minutes there, wait 15 minutes for my food, and then drive 10 minutes back to work. Be late back to work and not have any time to enjoy my delicious food?? If you're concerned about people not showing up to pickup their orders, at least provide some sort of online ordering where I can pay for it ahead of time!! I wish I could give them 3.5 stars instead of 3. The tantalizing smells of the outdoor barbecuing brought us into El Piketon. All the staff were wearing masks, masks are required to enter, they had a powerful fan going that circulated air outside, the bathrooms were well-stocked with the doors open, and there was sanitizer near the entrance. The BBQ (outside) menu is separate from the regular (inside) menu. So we went with the BBQ plates and sat outside with our masks. We got the $15 rib plate (comes with Peruvian-style fries) and the pollo al carbon (comes with corn tortillas, Spanish rice, and beans). You also get a basket of nacho chips with three types of salsa to start. They were warm, but kinda dry and stale. For $15 you get a lot of food! The rice and beans were ok. The corn tortillas were dry and stale. But the moist, juicy, and flavorful chicken most definitely made up for the boring sides! As for the ribs, meh, they reminded me of Midwest BBQ ribs, less smoked and more grilled. I personally prefer Texas-style smoked ribs. We would most definitely come again, but I would get the chicken with french fries! read more
