Unexpectedly surprised! I actually enjoyed the flavors in each dish we ordered. I had many reservations about Vui's based on reviews from other yelpers. I stayed away for as long as I could but the bone broth was calling my name that day. I figured I'd give it a shot but had very low expectations. Location: Nestled in Berry Hill, directly behind the Shell gas station off Thompson Lane. Surrounded by other cute, quaint eateries such as Sam and Zoes, Juice Bar, Monell's cafe, and Brothers Burgers. This can become very congested during lunch time. Parking: The gravel lot behind the restaurant scared me to death. I honestly thought my tires we're going to bust. Next time, I will try searching for a paved parking spot. Seating: You first place your order at the counter. After being handed a #, you find your seat. Indoor/ outdoor whatever your preference they have both and additional seating in the back deck too. We sat inside and it was a bit tight. So if you don't wanna play bumper chairs with the table behind you, I suggest you sit outside on the benches. It was particularly hot that day and I needed the A/C. Now the good stuff... FOOD: True, it is not your traditional authentic pho broth that you would get at Miss Saigon. However, the bone broth had depth and once garnished and seasoned, it's delicious. I did not mind having the garnish served on top but others may prefer otherwise, just mention it at the counter. Portions were perfect. Not small but not too big. A little more meat would've been nice. Pork belly pork buns were super yummy! The pork was extremely fatty (which I loved). The veggies were crisp which complemented the sweet bun perfectly. Bahn mi, good size, filling, and flavorful. Bone broth soup, great option if you don't want the entire pho bowl but are craving broth. Service: Meh. I don't recall seeing any smiles from the staff the entire 45min we were there. We did not do enough research before coming here lol...thought we were going to an authentic Viet restaurant. Should have known when we walked in. So you order at the counter, they hand you a number and then someone brings your food when ready. Small menu, and it is a bit pricey. I ordered the dumplings, cabbage and chicken salad, and a basil seed limeade. My friend ordered a pho and a banh mi to go. We both got two different numbers for our orders. Received my order of dumplings...and then proceeded to wait a reeaalllyyy long time for our food. Like, other tables that had come in after us got their food before we did. Was about to go ask them what was up when someone finally came over and asked us what we ordered. Somehow, the rest of my order and my friend's order were bumped/skipped. Uh, ok. Food was alright. Dumplings were bland, all I tasted was the chili oil. Meat was flavorless. My salad was ok. Pho was meh according to my friend. All of the herbs etc come in the pho already. Been supporting Vuis from day 1. As the owner always accommodated and delighted the customer. My kids are gluten and dairy free and we have limited options for them. They just love Vuis. I was told today they are moving corporate and could not ring up a small salad for my 6 year old with romaine/carrots/cucumbers only for less than $11. Or ring up a full kids bowl for $7.95 and just include lettuce, carrots, cucumbers. Furthermore after paying the $11 - there was still multi lettuces in the salad including arugula with my 6 year old finds bitter. Sad what happens when corporations take over and ruin a brand. I have cravings for Vui's spring rolls and noodle bowl - but the last time the noodles were not cooked long enough and the time before that the spring roll wrap was hard. I thought - one more chance. I stopped in early evening Sun 28Feb to grab these two items to go. I was greeted quickly and it was a very short wait for the food. $22 later I headed out. Got home and was ready to tuck in. I opened the spring rolls and the wraps were frozen. I took a look at the shrimp - heavy sigh - the shrimp was over cooked. Just disappointing that the food used to be so good. My beef sandwich was good, but the price was $11 which is a little expensive for a Vietnamese sandwich. There pre-bottled coffee tasted a little different not really Vietnamese flavor. I gave it 3 stars. Deducted 1 star for the high food prices. Deducted 1 more star for lack of authenticity. This is not really an authentic Vietnamese food. Important questions: Would I return? Man this place used to be so good. Not really anymore. My sister had the bon mi but the bread was burnt and not just a little it the whole thing was black. My mom got the beef pho and it was cold. We did ask for a different bowl and it came back hot. But the quality of the meat has gone way down. I got the pork bao buns and normally they are ful of Flavor but all I tasted was tasteless oil. Got spring rolls, pork belly buns and two pho with beef. Springs rolls were ok, not worth it, not even the peanut sauce helped. Pho was horrible, the worst pho I've ever had in my life. The meat was very soggy and didn't cook in the broth because the bowl was not hot enough. Also the pho comes with the mint, bell sprouts and jalapeños already in the pho. Most places bring it on a side plate so I was confused when I saw it already in my plate. In all fairness it does say it as part of the ingredients on the menu, but I thought it came on the side. The broth had no flavor, even with sauces and all those other ingredients added. This place was very disappointing. It was the perfect rainy cold day for pho and I wasted it at this spot. The only reason they're getting two stars is because the Pork belly buns were really good. The sauce on the pork belly had a lot of flavor. If you're looking for anything other than pork belly's, I would stay far away from here. read more

I hate to leave a bad review cause customer service was great but sadly the food was not. At all. I ordered the vegan pho and got a lemonade. The lemonade was disgusting, it tasted like lemon juice out of that lemon shaped bottle from the grocery store. I was expecting fresh lemon juice for the price.. my mistake.. and the pho smelled good but lacked any flavor at all. Literally tasted like nothing. I ended up adding salt and spices and it still was not good. Wasted $30 on inedible items. Maybe their non vegan food is better but I doubt it. It's definitely not authentic whatsoever. Excellent ! Hot bowl of steamy Phô on a brisk rain soaked day. My hunger and blues vanished. With the groovy soup spoon and chop sticks I dug into the the deep bowl and sipped and snacked my way out. Honestly debated about leaving a review especially during the pandemic. I know small businesses are doing their best to keep afloat... However it boggles my mind how this restaurant has multiple locations. The menu is small and pretty pricy for what it is. My friend got the chicken dumplings and original pho & I got the spring rolls and original pho. The dumplings had little to no flavor and the filling tasted and had texture like mashed potatoes....? Confused. The spring rolls, I mean you can't really mess this one up so.... But let's talk about the pho. Wow. I had to add in a cup of water to lessen the amount of salt that was in the broth. It was way too salty and no condiment could've fixed it. Didn't have the beef broth flavor that you crave when you think of pho. Also the vegetables are placed inside the bowl rather on the side so beware of that. Pretty upsetting with this experience. I eat here on the regular because the food is fresh, clean, and delicious. The Xa Lach salad with tofu is my favorite because it's flavor packed and light. Just add a little red pepper sauce to the lime dressing and you've got a smash on your hands! But don't go throwing plates because you will want to lick up every drop of sauce at the bottom. Probably not socially acceptable. But that doesn't keep you from WANTING to do it. Try the coconut pudding, and dive into a creamy dream of goodness. And even if you are eating your feelings you will leave relatively guilt free, due to the healthy ingredients and natural vibe of the joint. So go on...eat your heart out. Nobody is judging you. Try sitting in the cool air or out in the sunshine, in the wonderland that they have created for an atmosphere as far as the patio. But if it's packed, and you see me, please get up so that I can have your seat. I'm always in search of a good Bahn Mi as my local Vietnamese spot doesn't have that as a menu option. We traveled to the Hunter's station location. We went with 2 Bahn Mi's with egg, a beef broth, and dumplings. The order came out quickly and looked gorgeous. Unfortunately, the Bahn Mi was lacking a lot of flavor. They had dark greens piled on, but were absent of mint and cilantro. The vegetables didn't taste pickled at all and it lacked spice. We used to love this place but it has gone down hill. They must be sourcing a majority of business through pickup and delivery and it really shows in the drop in quality. The Pho - you now get half as much broth as you once did, the beef looks to be lower quality and comes cooked instead allowing the raw beef to cook in the broth, and all the sauces come in packets. Unfortunately, the taste of the pho suffers because of this. I really love this spot and we live around the corner, but unfortunately, it's just not a go-to for us any more. read more

It's at a very charming location in cute Berry Hill, and they have phenom outdoor seating. The staff was friendly as well. I went here based on the great reviews. In one sentence... wasn't bad, wasn't amazing. Service was great I couldn't decide between noodle bowl and pho and the guy convinced me to get pho. I chose to get it vegetarian but with the beef broth. I needed to add a lot of sriracha and hoisin (from the table) for the broth to have more flavor. I've never had pho before so I didn't know what to expect. I love ramen, but to me pho isn't as good. I did love that they have free tea, but I can see how that very small building would get busy at lunchtime. I went at night on a Thursday and it wasn't busy. Might go back to try the noodle bowl. Loved this place. After passing it several times, I made the plunge and am glad I did. As usual, I will comment on the food, the service, and the ambiance. Pho is my usual order at Vietnamese restaurants, so I branched out. Vietnamese sandwiches are as famous as the pho, so I went for it and the Vietnamese iced coffee. Beef Banh Mi was GREAT. The combination of greens, sauce, and herbs was great. I really liked the beef which was tender and wonderfully flavored. I'm glad I diverted form my standard bill of fare to judge Vietnamese food. Since I have high blood pressure, it is rare that I order regular coffee, let alone concentrated versions. Get the slow drip. It takes longer but, it is great. Remember to stir in the concentrated milk with the hot coffee. When you pour it over ice, the milk just kind of gels and does not mix well. Spying on a couple on the veranda, I asked my server what they were enjoying. She had a rice bowl and he had a salad. From where I sat, tasting them with my eyes, I can say they were delicious. Service was great! I was a bit unfamiliar with the amenities, but my server helped me find utensils, water, etc. And, she was very helpful in telling me the nuances of the how to eat the food. Patrons came in a steady flow. Traffic was as if you were at your favorite burger chain restaurant. Parking is limited and a bit uncomfortable. Regulars did not seem to matter. To go boxes streamed out. Patrons dined in the air conditioning as well on the veranda. Loved the place, but it is too far away from home. read more
