I recently had a valve cover gasket leaking on my Lexus. Eric did a masterful repair at a fraction of the cost of the dealer. He also, without charge, changed five electronic unit codes that were described in the Lexus owner's manual. It took only about five minutes to do this change, but the Lexus Dealer wanted to charge me $189! WB Motors did it without charge. Joe went out of his way and helped to remove a rusted wheel bolt on a hand truck I brought in. It was a difficult process. Not only was he successful, he did not charge me for his time. I do not recommend this business and had a bad experience. For the services I needed, I was given an estimate that was double the amount from another company ($2,000 versus $1,000). They did work without consulting me or getting my approval. When I showed up, I was presented with a bill to pay as they had already done work. I learned that there was damage to my driver side door as well as my glover compartment - problems that were not present when I dropped the car off. If you are going to do business with this company, make sure you get a quote in writing and do a thorough inventory of the idiosyncrasies of your car! read more

This is a company most of my family uses. They have worked on multiple vehicles with excellent results. I normally don't rave about customer service from a mechanic, but WB Motors excels! They worked on my old Kia Sorento and kept it humming along for awhile. But once it became too expensive to repair, they gave me all kinds of advice on how to sell or donate it, acted as the middleman, and sent me the check. I offered to pay for diagnostic time, but they waved that off. So I'm doing the next best thing I can--which is to highly recommend them online. Ask for Joe (awesome guy!).... I don't remember the last time I had a chat with a mechanic that was genuine and just felt like you were speaking with a friend. That's how I felt when I was chatting with Joe last week. Two weeks ago, I ordered tires from Tirerack and had them shipped to WB Motors because they are listed as a top ranked installer on Tireracks site. I called and made an appointment to have the tires mounted, balanced along with an alignment. I dropped my car off at the appointed time and everything went very smoothly. While I waited, I noticed that each customer that walked in the door was a regular and Joe knew them and their families. He's so personable that it makes it easy to not be stressed out as I have been in the pass with other mechanics (i.e. the dealership). His ultimate goal is to make sure the customer is happy (and I was). Wifi was easy to connect to and fast while waiting. read more

Just wanted to send a HUGE shout out to Joe and the crew at W B Motors. The did an exceptional job getting my 2003 MINI Cooper all squared away, it is driving better than brand new! I had cal the week prior to make the appointment, and of course I was curious as to a potential cost guestimate, after all was said and done, I was under the quote AND they did a little more work than we talked about. Joe couldn't have been any more pleasurable to work with, He was extremely friendly, courteous, willing to answer any questions and really gave not only myself, but my better half, a really comfortable and welcoming vibe. All work was performed in a very timely manner, explained in detail and discussed open and honestly. There was never a sense of anything less than honesty and fairness, unlike some auto places I have dealt with in the past. These guys are fantastic. I came to the after a few bad experiences with other shops trying to take advantage of me by charging too much or doing unnecessary work. I had a complicated problem that took a few tries to fix, but I trusted their judgement because they were very transparent about the process. They also recognized I have an older car and I don't want to fix every little nonessential thing and supported my decision. They refused to let me pay until I drove my car enough to see if the warning light came back on and let me borrow a monitor to know when I had driven around enough. They offered to put old parts back on if it didn't work and not charge for the new stuff. They showed me the old parts and how they were not functioning. I was also on a tight deadline because I needed my car for a job and they squeezed me in when the first fix didn't quite get rid of the EGR warning light. Be sure to book appointments early when you can. They fill up fast - understandably so. I also recommended them to my roommate, who had a very positive experience as well. The only bummer is they don't have evening/weekend hours so it can be hard if you work normal business hours and have a long commute. They do allow for night drops and over the phone payment though. It's a small inconvenience that is totally worth it! read more

I've been using W B Motors for several years now, and I find it to be ideal. The prices are VERY reasonable, the service is top notch, and they stand behind their work. Joe, the point man for the shop, is always friendly, courteous and helpful. He gives good diagnoses, and he calls as soon as he finds something that wasn't in line with his original estimates. About 4 times out of 5 the final price has been less than the estimate. He's good about telling me of other things that need attention, but also about helping me prioritize, which is key when you have 3 older cars. Hi, here's an update, an important update. I took a beloved 2005 (family member) PT Cruiser into WB Motors with a question about a spot of oil that I noticed on the ground where I park. [They handle tires for all of my vehicles including my vintage diesel Benz's (picture in your mind a very big grizzly bear with cubs, oh yes...), they have a Hunter balancer ( do you want the best balanced tires you can get? WB Motors/Hunter.)] As it turns out, WB Motors caught the early stages of a sequence of events that could have taken this "Daimler PT" - it's more Benz than Chrysler in the 2005 model, off the road, POOF! that quick! I had a head gasket leak, but WB Motors noted that at 82,000 miles, the timing belt was due for replacement. WB Motors FULLY explained that the head gasket leak was the type that could go on without repair for some time, so no overstatement about that issue. However, the timing belt? A firm recommendation that this be done. My review of the timing belt issue on the internet was frightening: a PT Cruiser can be cruising along, "pop!" goes the timing belt and takes the engine out with it, gone! WB Motors also explained that while the engine is being repaired for the timing belt, it would be a good time to replace the head gasket (nothing to sneeze at, they are hard work!) I looked over the repair proposal and decided the cost to repair everything was VERY reasonable compared to having to replace this vehicle. After the repair, they gave me "break in" advice regarding the new timing belt... "don't 'hotrod' your new timing belt..." ("ok.") I would trust WB Motors with this huge repair over any Chrysler dealer out there, oh, and not just price, but quality. This beloved PT Cruiser is like new. WB Motors can handle whatever you need in repairs and, they are "smart and good" people. read more

Not only did he fix my broken sun visor (which had been bothering me for years), he also diagnosed the humming sound coming from my tires and looked into my power steering issue. In every case, he offered low-cost solutions to my problems and let me decide what I wanted to do. There was no pressure. I'd give them 6 stars if I could. This is a great shop, they do great work, and they are honest. They will give you the "well, if it was my car I'd fix it now" or "I think I'd just leave it alone. That probably doesn't need to be fixed". A lot of mechanics won't do that for you. They will also always take time to discuss repairs or take a quick look at something if you have a problem pop up on a car. They've been my go-to shop for about 10 years. 2 Lexus GX470s, a Lexus RX330, and a Honday minivan. They handle my tires, my major services, and all my routine maintenance. Great place.... read more

Solid place! I had my Tire Rack tires drop shipped here for installation. The first thing they did was let me know that I still had 50% tread left on those two tires, but I was aware and I don't like the hydroplaning that I was getting. I've been getting service from WB Motor since 2008, it is been 5 years now, reason I stay with them is honesty, reliability and accurate diagnose the problem at first place, that way I don't have to spend extra money and time keep my car reliable. I had a bad experience before I discover the WB motor. My TOYOTA RAV4 had some on and off noise problem, and I've been to many different shop to find out the problem and fix it, but I only spend money the problem was still there, they explained me with some lame excuse and I had never felt safe, until 5 years ago Erick did some test drive and examined the car, found the problem and fixed for good, that was a serious safety issue though, I'm glad had that fixed before causing any serious problem. Highly recommended, but you have to call ahead to make appointment though, I think they good reputation keep them busy. read more

They are up front about what work should be done, and they have told me on several occasions when they don't think it's worth it to do a certain service. This place charges you way more than a dealer. They could not fix my A/C even though I took it twice. Both times they claim that my A/C Refrigerant was low and they refilled it with Refrigerant and dye indicator and could not find the leak. I took my vehicle to a different mechanic he found the leak in one of the hose. read more

I've taken 2 of my vehicles in for various services,and they have always delivered nothing but excellent service. when i took my truck in for what could be $1K -$2K worth of maintenance service, Joe recommended that I not do any of the work, since the truck had significant rust which presented safety concerns. he then spent several minutes pointing out specific rust-related concerns while the truck was on the lift. although they spent perhaps an hour or so evaluating the truck, they did not charge me for any of the work. they could have just gone ahead with the maintenance that I originally asked for, collected a couple of grand and sent me on my way being unaware of potentially serious safety issues. read more

I have known Joe and Eric for more than 15 years. I met Eric through my son, who had taken his car to WB and highly recommended him. One day, years ago, my wife and I were driving thru Fairfax and our car simply stopped. I had the car towed to WB and Eric called me immediately tp explain the problem, in clear and detailed terms. We were expecting a huge bill for the repairs. Instead, the repair bill was less than the towing charge! Since that day, more than 15 years ago, we have had every car we have owned (3/4) serviced by Eric. If you are looking for the cheapest place in town, WB is not that place. But if you are looking for the best service, the best and most knowledgeable mechanics and a fair price for top quality work, WB is that place. I have a 'classic' BMW. It is still running today, and running well (262,000 miles and cruising), because of Eric and Joe's TLC. This shop really lives up to their high rating. I am a "car guy" and DIYer so I'm very particular about who works on my car. Manager Joe and technician/mechanic Tim are real car enthusiasts who have worked on cars since their early teens. Joe is easy to talk to, professional and trustworthy, like a friend you've known for a long time. They installed my tires, TPMS sensors and wheels with care and promptness as if they were working on cars for their own family member.
