Arrived at the establishment for lunch. Located in Merritt Island I guess you could call it a hole in the wall. The outside isn't very appealing to most as you ride by. It probably would be something that you would pass. But on the inside, totally different, smiling faces and welcoming staff. Along with delicious food. I've come here on multiple occasions and every time I come, the food is always spot on the flavors are always robust. I have a lot of options for everyone. Lots of vegetarian options as well. They have a covered outdoor seating area, but can get pretty hot in the summertime. I usually order the shrimp pho which is always delicious. Used to be our favorite little dive in Merritt Island for sushi but we haven't been in a couple years and it's gone way downhill -- like no one even cares enough to patch the huge holes in the patio roof or keep the plants alive. Five stars for food I didn't even get to eat (this time)! I LOVE the food from WABI SABI, and since my husband was away SCUBA diving, I decided to treat myself to a big Take Out order of my favorites, like beef stew Pho and Com Dac Biet. I even skipped breakfast so I'd be extra hungry! I placed the order, but when I went to leave to pick it up, my car was stone dead! I had no way to get there, so I called back to give them my credit card info and ask if they could put it aside and then sometime in the next several hours my husband would be back and could pick it up before they closed. The very kind man on the phone was so understanding, and he said, "Don't worry about it. You're already having a bad day. I'll just cancel the order for you, and you can order it again when you can get here." So no, I didn't get my food today. But I did get a reminder that kindness still exists, even behind a busy takeout counter in Merritt Island. I'll be back for that Pho, WABI SABI! Wow! This old blue A frame didn't look like much on the outside, but since moving back to the Island and hearing people recommend it, we decided to order for pickup on our way home from Miami. The beauty is that they are the only Asian restaurant open on Mondays. Were we surprised! I went inside to pick up the order, which was ready to go, and the inside was clean, cozy and fairly busy. We ordered the Tiger Tears, a beef appetizer "salad,"dumplings, drunken noodles with chicken, and scallops pad Thai. My friend loved the dumplings, she and my husband were very happy with the number of nice sized scallops cooked just right, and we all enjoyed the drunken noodles, one of my husband's favorites. If anything, there was almost too much chicken to noodles! Not a bad problem to have! The two noodle dishes had their very distinctive flavors and noodle sizes. The gentlemen inside were polite, friendly, and one mentioned that he packed the extra cup of Thai hot spice at the top for my husband. We wll definitely be back. In fact, I usually bring my 91-year old mom a treat on Fridays so today will be steamed dumplings- her favorite. Unfortunately, we were too hungry to take pictures! read more

Headed here because we were in town for work and it was close. The place was nice and clean. The server was somewhat attentive but also distracted for a bit. My coworker got the bento box and liked it - I had a piece of their sushi and it was great. I got Udon noodles with chicken and it was good. HUGE, fat noodles and the sauce was yummy. Wabi Sabi Thai Restaurant- Merritt Island, FL 1 Star As I got out of the Big Boy mobile in the parking lot of Wabi Sabi Thai Restaurant in Merritt Island, I was dumbfounded as the building looked just this side of condemned. I mean it. This had to be the biggest dump I have ever seen for an operating dining facility. I was not impressed upon entrance either. The food had better be outstanding as they obviously spent zero money on appearances outside or inside. After being seated and handed a menu, Jessica approached and introduced herself as my waitress and based on the sour, self-entitled attitude she exuded, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say she is the cookie-cutter Gen Z humanoid. Despite her obviously not wanting to work that day, she took my order for some Green Curry with chicken, an eponymous Wabi Sabi roll and my barometer for this kind of food, a spicy tuna hand roll. According to the guy sitting next to me with a neck tattoo, this place did serve the bomb food. Based on his conversation with his table mate I was hoping the food to be better than the surroundings. It seemed that Jessica had just gone to drop my order when she returned with my grub. The Green Curry with chicken was so overcooked the chicken had the consistency of a rubber eraser and tasted like it as well. The curry was void of "curriness" and fell flat on the palate. Moving on to the Wabi Sabi roll I noticed that the Avacado looked to be past its prime (the picture speaks for itself) and one bite confirmed this assumption. The fish was fishy tasting which means it was past its freshness point for being served raw (at least for those with a discerning palate). The spicy tuna hand roll was prepared in Thai fashion and this is not what it should taste like. The tuna was OK, but it is not prepared like the spicy tuna hand roll found in your traditional Japanese Sushi joint. I am not sure what they use to make it so different, my only guess is the chili paste is the difference as different countries have different takes on this staple of Asian cuisine. As one may notice there is no picture of the disgusting slop passed off as Green Curry with chicken as I was so upset over the near-swill I was served I forgot to snap one as I hurried the hell out. The Big Boy says, "while looks can be deceiving, in this case, they're not, the food is as bad as the dump in which it is served. If you are coming off a 10 fast and are about to drop from hunger and see this place, keep going." Oh, and never trust a food critique from someone with a neck tattoo read more

The food was nice. Not amazing but it was nice. I had a Summer Roll that was fresh and tasty, crisp fillings and the peanut sauce was different then I am used to but good. The sushi roll (Philly with salmon and cucumber) was really good and I would go back for sushi any time. The fish tasted fresh and buttery. The pho was just ok to me. I got the beef flank and tendon and the meat had really no flavor. I asked for cilantro and was told it was there on the plate with the basil and sprouts and jalapeño slices. I found a large leaf product I was not familiar with that resembled cilantro in its aroma but really had no taste. My partner had a pho that had fish and meat in it and his wasn't super hot so he was a bit disappointed as it was a cold night in Cocoa. All in all, I would go back if someone suggested it for Vietnamese. I would choose it for Sushi. Service was good, place was clean, parking ok. read more

Very disappointed tonight. We used to come here at least once a week several years ago because they had the most incredible pho soup. Since we moved off Merritt Island it just wasn't as convenient so we hadn't been here in a while. Being it was so cold today I just wanted some hot soup to warm up so we decided to try Wabi Sabi again. The waiter was great, very attentive. It was so cold in there that people were going out to there cars to get warmer coats and ate with their coats on as did I. Even that was OK if the pho was as it used to be. As soon as it came out we knew it wasn't even close. There was plenty of shrimp in my shrimp pho but the main attraction in pho is the broth. This was utterly tasteless and just super salty chicken broth with absolutely no flavor. It used to be awesome and you could smell the spices and lemongrass when it was set in front of you. This tasted like they dissolved a bouillon cube and added some noodles and shrimp. My husband had the beef pho and said the same. He added the sauces available on the table just to add some kind of flavor. I don't know if there are different people cooking now or what but we will stick to other pho places in the area. Don't know how anything else was because we only wanted good pho tonight so that was all we ordered. I would give anything just to have a bowl of their original pho soup. It was awesome. read more

Funky hole-in-the wall atmosphere delivers fresh & tasty offerings from a varied menu of Asian specialties. Hostess seemed pretty frazzled, they were slammed on Fri. night at 7:30, but we were able to eat in the enclosed outside porch so it worked out. Right on the main drag, traffic was noisy but the service and food made it worthwhile. Husband had vermicelli bowl (server's advice to try fish sauce with it was right on!) and I had sushi/ sashimi bento box. Ginger salad was delicious. Not melt-in-your-mouth rave-worthy fish but definitely good. We first tried to get into Pacific Rim (parking lot full, 45-min. wait (had never been there either but it was recommended) and Wabi Sabi our other choice - bonus!
