There aren't enough stars to rate this place adequately. This was our first time visiting Wade's Landing, but it will certainly not be the last. Tori, our server, ranks among the top three or four servers we've ever experienced anywhere in the country. My wife and I have been retired for over twenty years and we eat out quite often. The food was over the top, from the appetizers to the entrees. The million dollar deviled were fantastic and the billion dollar bacon were a phenomenal start to our meal. We followed that with the beef short rib, fig salad, Texas chili and Brussels sprouts. Leah, the manager, checked on us a couple times to make sure we were happy with our meals. We did a walk in around 6pm but it was raining outside so it wasn't as busy. We were seated immediately and sat on the covered patio that had a fireplace and heaters. Immediately ordered food for our son to be able to eat and the food came out hot and quickly. He enjoyed his meal and said he liked the chicken fingers. We ordered deviled eggs for the appetizer and they were good. We both tried the fried chicken sandwich. Amazingly good. It was a bit too spicy for me but I dipped it in ketchup and it helped tremendously with cooling the heat down. The fries were crispy. Everything was hot and well made. My husband ordered a Back Draft which is a pretty cool unexpected experience! Won't ruin it, but you will enjoy when it's brought out. It's a strong drink. We had the opportunity to try the new Wade's Landing last night and let's just say it - It did not disappoint one bit. They took over and old English pub spot. Their updates were beautiful, especially loved the wicker lanterns. It's a pretty noise place and the tables in the middle are a little tight but what a great experience. Service was spot on. Quick follow up, constant check ins and very pleasant. The drink menu is great. Each one named after a country song, which was a cute touch. We had Buy my own drink, drunk on a plane and Tennessee whiskey (and a standard old fashion) and they were all tasty. Unique flavors, great presentation. The menu is pretty small right now. I am hoping they add more for additional variety but everything we had was tasty. We had the ahi tacos and chicken fried filet for starters. Both great. For dinner, he had the hot chicken sandwich and it was amazing!! It wasn't just tossed in hot sauce, it was in the breading and so flavorful. Perfectly cooked. I was super excited to try this new place in Rockwall. I have to say one of the reasons they did not get 5 stars was the valet parking. I had no idea we would have to valet. I would have made plans to park elsewhere and walk if I had known. I suggest this should be on their website since it messed up my experience. The restaurants vibe itself was very good, and our waitress was attentive and helpful. Food was good, but I felt it was a bit overpriced for the portions. I haven't had a chance to try the brunch menu yet, but I'm definitely doing that next time once you arrive you see these dramatic big doors that make you feel like whoa "This is very unexpected and I felt instantly very underdressed" however, when we went in, we felt very warmly welcomed. We started off with the deviled eggs, which were absolutely delicious and unique. Then we had the butchers cut, which was mac & cheese with the meat. There was a last-minute change to the menu, so the manager actually came out to and apologize for the last-minute changes. I really enjoyed that she was very personable and professional. The restaurant and location are both very nice with a great ambiance. Our waitress was fairly attentive but slow at times, no big deal. They didn't have any steak on the dinner menu tonight (Wednesday) so that was very strange (who doesn't serve steak at an American restaurant?!) but even though this TEXAS American restaurant didn't have steak, they did have a "catch of the day"......pan fried COD lol. I'm not sure they understand what a catch of the day is. So we both had the salmon lol. It was pretty good but slightly overdone. We finished dinner with the fried blueberry pie to share and coffee. This is a beautiful restaurant decided in dark greens and wood textures it feels like you're in the heart of Dallas. They have parking which is great but my husband and I somehow entered through the back door accidentally so they maybe should add signage . The food was phenomenal. Wings perfectly cooked . My steak was medium as requested but could've used a touch of salt. The fried were perfect but we had to ask for ketchup twice. My drink was supposed to have a foam that was missing but was otherwise really really good. My only complaint was the spinach and artichoke dip. The croistinis were a little too toasted and were hard and messy to bite. The dip itself was more cheese than spinach and artichoke and was way too watery in texture. It also seemed to be made with a yellow cheddar cheese where lost I've hard are mozzarella or white cheddar.I wouldn't order it again but I definitely want to return for brunch and to try other dinner and drink options! I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant; unfortunately, I left very disappointed. The decor and ambiance was very nice as I expected; however, the food was a major let down. The waitress was nice (yet seemed not very experienced) gave the specials that included Scallops entree, and thats what I decided to order, just to be told they had run out. I was very surprised as there were only a few other people in the whole restaurant at that time. I decided to try the miso salmon as recommended by the waitress. The whole meal (aside from the Brussels sprouts) was extremely bland (no flavor) and the salmon tasted not fresh at all. I only took a couple bites and contemplated sending it back; however I was there with someone I was meeting for the first time so decided not to. This was our second visit, first time for brunch. Reservation process was great, both of my requests were met. The valet guys are great and no charge! It's a pretty place, lighting, and comfortable seating. My one issue was the inside temperature, way too hot, even the staff was trying to cool down. We shared the deviled eggs. Yum. My husband had the hot chicken sandwich-huge and fries. He enjoyed both, could have used more heat. My son in law had the club sandwich, it was okay could have used a more flavorful condiment. My daughter had the Asian chicken salad. She had hoped for a few gluten free options. I had the million dollar bacon. Wow! This was so good, cooked perfectly, and the tables favorite. It's laid-back, social, and you almost forget you're in Rockwall... until the HOA whispers, "No fun after dark." Come sunset, it downshifts into sports bar meets casual dining, which works -- just don't expect thumping music or neon cocktail fishbowls. Instead, it's a solid dinner-with-drinks spot where the volume stays under "annoy-the-neighbors" levels. Let's get to the real stars: the apps. The Dynamite Cauliflower? A sleeper hit. Grilled just right, crunchy panko, and a sauce that lives up to the name -- spicy, bold, and addictive. The Steak Tartare? Fancy without being fussy. Prime filet, horseradish dressing, cornichons, and crunchy house chips that deserve their own merch line. The drinks were... a mixed bag (literally). Excellent! Made a 6:15 reservation on a Saturday night. Was able to get seated upon arriving at our reserved time. Caitlin was our server and she was knowledgeable about the menu, funny, and sweet. Ordered the meatballs and burrata for apps. Both just okay. The drinks were excellent! I had a party of four and the consensus all around were great tasting and strong drinks! The star of the show was the Red Wine Braised beef Short Ribs! 10/10!! Also tried the crème brûlée (a first for me so may not be super knowledgeable) but I enjoyed it! Wow. Finally. A place with fabulous food in Rockwall. Beautiful location in downtown Rockwall. SUPER friendly staff!! On my first visit, I got to meet three of the owners and the head chef. They sure had a way of making me feel special. I have been very impressed with each dish I've tried. Bartender even made me a non-alcoholic mojito, which was spectacular. This is a great place for any occasion: celebration, date, even a casual dinner. I loved it so much, I came back the very next night and was their first brunch customer!!
