The steak was the juiciest and most tender one I have ever had, so definitely worth the money. The house salad was great too, better than most sad salads elsewhere, lol. They don't serve complimentary bread with your meal, which was the only downside to the meal. CC is a great spot located in Rockwall, great ambiance. We dined for the all you can eat brunch at $33 a person, was it worth it...maybe. The variety of items isn't as large as expected, however what was offered was good. Keep in mind because it is a buffet, the trays are often empty, food isn't hot, and it's busy with everyone trying to get their food. The set up is a bit chaotic as the space is small. When you compare it to BB Steakhouse from Kaufman downtown. Now I see that Culpepper cattle is the best place. Doesn't have to be premium. Because premium is what BB Steakhouse has. They're ruin it when they suck the whole life out of it. Or better said juices out of it. So hands-down Culpepper is the best place in my mind. I'm just so sad that we didn't go here from my anniversary and we decided to go to a new place, never again!! We decided to try Culpeppers for our anniversary on Valentine's Day, which might've been our mistake. We were so crammed into that restaurant that you were almost on top of each other. I'm hoping they just did that for Valentine's Day so they could accommodate more people and this is not going to be the standard. We had the spinach dip and chips for appetizer and they were very good. I had the 9 ounce ribeye and hubby had a fillet both were cooked perfectly. We had the baked potato for a side. We had a reservation but it wasn't full or even halfway full so they didn't ask- just took us to a table. The server came out really quickly and was very cheerful. We ordered drinks and the calamari appetizer which the man really enjoyed. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. For the main entree I asked about the chicken fried lobster but the server had never had it. She mentioned that it was pretty popular so I went ahead and opted for that with the wedge salad and grilled squash. The man ordered the ribeye with onion strings and a baked potato. When we asked where we were in the list we were told we wouldn't be seated until our reservation time. Odd to me but okay, I guess. Anytime we asked for drinks or a.new plate, she looked at us like we were idiots. The sides were a house salad, green beans and a baked sweet potato with some amazing pecan butter on top! We eaten most of them though, out of the dish before the long promised plates turned up. My husband's chicken was flat and dry and the mashed potatoes that accompanied it were actually inedible. To his credit the server asked how it was going and replaced them with a baken potato, it wasn't much better. I ordered the Ribeye, it was cooked well and tasted great. The sweet potato it came with was overbaked and I did not know it was coming soaked in honey butter with chopped walnuts. The food was mediocre at best, the people next to us were so loud and were talking about super personal things at the table. My boyfriend got a combo plate and that was okay. The cigars were the best part of his meal. We immediately tipped the person who was there for live music when we got there because she didn't have any money in her guitar case but then she quickly took a "break" and came back on right before we left. When we left we noticed that she took the money we gave her out of her case and it was empty again so that must be a strategy she uses to get more money. The whole experience was not good. We enjoyed a fantastic brunch buffet at Culpepper's Rockwall location on Easter Sunday. This was our first visit to the restaurant. The buffet options and variety, which also included a craving station, were expanded for Easter and did not disappoint. Everything was superb! The atmosphere, staff, live music on the patio, and the smooth flow of navigating the buffet without any bottlenecks were all commendable. We ordered iced tea with spinach dip & chips which was so yummy, we ate and scraped the whole entire bowl. The chips were nice and crispy too. My boyfriend ordered the Smash Burger which was A+ Good and I ordered the Chicken Fajitas, which were So Moist and So Yummy!!! They came sizzling with caramelized onions and homemade soft flour tortillas! Seriously, it's TOP 5 favorite chicken fajita's I've ever had. While visiting family in TX we had dinner at this restaurant. Everything from start to finish was excellent. We went on a Friday night at 7:15pm. The hostess greeting was pleasant and welcoming. They had a live band which added to the amazing ambiance of the night. We sat outside. Our server Sarah was amazing. She communicated the menu items very descriptively when we inquired. She consistently checked on our table. The service manager Joe was also great. The server who brought the salad was friendly and funny. The manager also came over to check on us. I've NEVER said this about any restaurant but the service here was IMPECCABLE!! We started with an appetizer of coconut shrimp which was delicious. For dinner we had Culpepper chicken, smothered chop steak, 6oz filet which was cooked to perfection, chicken fried steak. Everything was great. The portions are just right. I opted for a cosmo. Best cosmo I have had in a long time. One recommendation is do not sit at the table under the speakers outside. It's hard to hear your dinner guests. We were screaming at each other to hear one another. We did as for the volume to be turned down. I found this place on Tik Tok and have been wanting to try it. The morning of my birthday, I said ok I will finally go. Everything was fine till I was seated. Noticing the plates on the table were dirty, I waited for the waiter to come as the host stated they will be there shortly. After waiting 5 minutes and seeing many servers pass by, no one came. There was even a server that visited the table next to me 4 times but no one ever said anything. I decided to leave and try another place after giving enough time. On my way out, I advised the host no one ever showed up and due to dirty plates with dried food on them, clean ones were needed. It was then she advised she would tell her manager and I asked if I could speak with them. At that moment, the waiter who visited the table next to me comes running around the corner and as the host was going to get the manager she stops him and has a conversation with him. Speaking with the manager, she was very apologetic, which I appreciate, even offered to sit me in a different area, but my mind to leave was made up. I advised her of many waitresses walking by, even the guy visiting the table next to me multiple times, but no one ever said anything. I'm very big on customer service. One bad experience can sway others. Not sure if the expectation of the server to say, I will be with you in a moment is valid, but that wasn't done. The brunch layout was a little different. Overall, the food was good however, the options were limited if you are gluten-free. The mimosa and bloody mary bar is a cute unique idea that sets apart this restaurant from other breakfast buffets. The only misstep in my opinion would be the four dollars for a cup of "okay" coffee, and the fact that you have to request new plate if you want a second trip to the buffet line. Reservation was for 7:30 PM and I confirmed our arrival through Resy beforehand. We arrived at 7:24 PM, checked in, and the lobby was packed but hardly anyone was being seated. A hostess didn't approach us until around 7:50 PM and the interaction wasn't friendly. When we asked for an update at 8:00 PM, we were told we were the second party to be seated, yet we still weren't seated until 8:10 PM. We were placed by the exit door with cold air blowing on us constantly. The food took way too long, and when it arrived the sirloin steaks were overcooked and cold. We visited Culpepper for the Fajita Friday special advertised on social media, we stopped in around 11:30am. Seated after a few minute wait and we were greeted by our server promptly with fresh tortillas and butter. We each ordered the fajita specials to try, one beef and one chicken both with flour tortillas (no substitutions or changes). Our fajita orders arrived within 1-2 minutes after ordering and overall was just okay. Portion sizes were small and the plates contained mostly onion no peppers; served with a small side of rice, beans, cheese and toppings. Flavor wise the food was bland, however the chicken had more flavor than the beef. We were hopeful based on the fajita advertising on social media, but not as impressed as we'd hoped. Maybe because it was a Tuesday night? My husband and I had the porterhouse for 2. It was a great price and very tasty. My complaint was the side item choices were all carbs except for green beans. The guacamole was not good, very acidic, the lime juice was covering the underripe avocado. For a steakhouse, I wish they had more options on the cuts of meat they serve. I found the prices to be on par with a Saltgrass, not overpriced at all. The triple chocolate cake looked very rich and overindulgent- I was bracing myself for something super sweet but to my delight, it was not! I called to make a reservation and in spite of it being such short notice for New Year's Eve, Will and Ashley let me know that they would do what they could to get us sat and squeeze us in on that night. Not only did they do that, but it was on time and the service all evening was amazing. Nicole was absolutely wonderful and made us just feel really comfortable. She's so fun, sweet and a top notch server! In spite of the fact that it was 13 of us, our drinks stayed refilled, our orders were perfect, and it made our first experience at Culpepper so good.
