The carpet was stained, our bedding was stained, the wallpaper was peeling off, dirt and grime had gathered in the corners, and there was toothpaste or cleaning spray all over the bathroom mirror and sink. My side of the bed was caving in, so when I laid on my left side I rolled a bit, which makes me think maybe the mattresses need to be replaced. I will say, the pillows were comfy! That evening we ate at the restaurant where we ordered off the menu. I ordered The Falls Burger, which is your basic cheeseburger with the usual toppings - lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and your choice of cheese. The burger tasted like it was previously frozen, but the fries were delicious! Our waitress, McKenzie, was incredible! She was attentive and friendly and deserves recognition! We ended up back at the lodge restaurant the following evening where they were serving a buffet dinner only, no option to order off the menu. McKenzie was great once again, but unfortunately, the food was not. The buffet consisted of soup, salad, mac-n-cheese, rolls, yellow rice, black eyed peas, BBQ chicken, catfish, carrot cake, pumpkin pie, and apple pie. All of the items I ate were cold and just mediocre. You can imagine my surprise when I saw the $46 bill - $27.99 for an adult and $15.99 for a child. Absurd for the lack of options and for the cold food. (Keep in mind that the closest towns with good dining options are at least 30 mins away.) During nice weather the falls are gorgeous to hike up to and the park is fun to explore, but take note if you have children with you and the weather isn't great, there's not much for them to do. The park itself is beautiful and well worth a trip! And I truly believe the lodge could be brought back to life with a few changes.

It was topped with a poached egg and served with a perfectly flaky biscuit. The pancake they delivered was equally tasty, although it looked rough - broken surface and irregularly shaped and much browner on the bottom than the top, but it was nice. There was plenty of jam on the table for the biscuit. Service was okay, and I had to get a straw from a nearby supply table and getting refills and the payment processed was a tad slow.

We waited around 5-10 minutes for our table. She gave the ladies roses for Mother's Day. We sat at a cozy table in a room by ourselves. The menu was very small and no alcohol. The prices were more than fair, fairly cheap in my opinion. The portions were enough for me, but not as big as other restaurants. We all had brunch and our food tasted delicious. One dish was cold, but everyone else's was hot. When we were done, the place was very busy, and a long wait. I would be interested to try this place again and see if it is any different on other days.

The man working the register was a charm- he told us how Ellijay has their own tv production (which they were playing on an old school tv), a special Bigfoot podcast and more. Lastly, the coffee was, of course, delightful. I had a latte with a little bit of spice in it that was perfect to warm a person up in the cool early spring air when we were there. First the server said they didnt know (weird) then said they would check and left for 5 minutes. The answer was no. So I paid an extra $5 and added a croissant. I ate the bacon, which improved my salmon Benedict. But neither the croissant nor bacon felt like $5. Kids meal is now the cost of a regular. So I recommend if you dont want any substitutions, try this place. I wont be coming back. It really irks me that you cant just put bread instead of bacon on a kids meal.
