I loooove me some Waffle House. And as a west coaster now I rarely have the chance to enjoy me some smothered, covered n peppered so every chance I get back to the South, I promptly motor it into the closest location along my travels. On a recent drive up from Miami to St Pete, I pulled off just shy of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge to get me some vittles. It was about 9pm on Wed night, so only two other customers inside & about 5 employees. Firstly I was saddened not to get the usual friendly "HELLO" greeting from the crew when I walked in. And after ordering some breakfast I got a cheesesteak....d'oh! But no biggie cause I love me some chipped beef wit cheese on Texas toast too, so I told them 'no worries' I'll just take that instead. But you gotta love the irony of WH getting your order wrong in a whisper-quiet, nearly empty setting. The other waitress then told my waitress that she had in fact barked out the wrong order to the cook....then smiled at me with a "good thing you're not fussy." Secondly what chaffed me a little bit is that they ended up charging me for the cheesesteak (few bucks more) instead of my actual order. No biggie, but if I was the server (or mgr) in that situation I would have honored the original price as a token of appreciation for being flexible. We just had a great visit to the Waffle House. Ok, so we've never been to one before, and we were hoping for something quick and good and inexpensive before our beach day. This hit every criteria. But what made it super awesome was our wonderful waitress, Katie. After an hour in the car, the kids were a bit crazy - but Katie thought they were great! She learned their names, came over to chat whenever she had a moment, and was super sweet. My kids are still commenting on "Katie, the really nice waitress." The food was great and they had some awesome $5 meals. So glad we made a quick stop - so worth it! read more

It's the Waffle House, the Waffle House! The food is always consistent but the service is not HOWEVER I've been to this specific Waffle House several times and India is ALWAYS friendly & upbeat. This review is mainly about the consistently good food & India's amazing customer service. I don't expect great service when I go to the Waffle House but India always delivers outstanding service. I only gave 4-stars because it's the Waffle House...lol...it's not the cleanest place but hey I've never seen cockroaches or rat poop so I'll be back. If you go ask for India! read more

My boyfriend had never been to a Waffle House before (Northern boy). He enjoyed a chocolate chip pecan waffle and their famous smothered, covered and chunked hash browns. We went there yesterday around 1:30pm for a late breakfast/lunch/brunch. I wanted a waffle and it was good; actually the food was fine. It's the service that's determining the poor rating. I counted the number of people behind the counter - 10! The number of tables with customers - 5! The number of cooks - 1! We waited 30 minutes for our food. When it came, it was one at a time. My husband ordered sausage and it came after he was finished with his breakfast. Anytime the server brought anything to me, she practically threw it at me! So, if you have plenty of time, if you're not particularly concerned about wearing you food, if you don't care about everyone eating together, this is an ok place to come. Walked in at 11:30 at night to get a bite to eat. I sat there for 10 minutes, waiting for a server to come over and greet us. There was 6+ staff members on, and not one even took the time to greet us. I saw multiple of them look at us, and not do a single thing. This is one of the dirtiest WH I've enter been too, was there just a few minutes ago until my son felt a roach crawl across his foot. When I looked under the table to see it, which I did, it looked like the floor was coated in grease and food that has been there a while, if inspected I guarantee it would be shut down, for heavens sake save yourselves from this shit hole, on a positive note the staff is very friendly, lazy, but friendly, the table was wet and had been wiped with a dirty rag and smelled. honestly the worst experience ever. 0/10 we waited about 20 minutes before even being acknowledged and then 20 more minutes to get our order taken add 20 more minutes to even receive drinks and then another 20 to get the food. if you thought after an hour of waiting for the food it'd be nice and hot you'd be wrong it was cold but tasted like it was thrown in the microwave after being frozen. it was absolutely disgusting and i would never recommend this horrible restaurant to anyone. also gave us empty ketchup and no silverware. had to track her down for straws. read more

There is one thing you can count on 99% of the time at Waffle Houses - anywhere: your food is fresh, prepared just in time for you, and good. And this Waffle House does not disappoint. There were plenty of servers to take care of us, they were prompt and friendly, and our only complaint was that apparently they wanted us to feel like it was fall or winter in the north - the temperature was FREEZING! All of the windows had moisture all over them, and the A/C vent over us was dripping condensation because it was working so hard and it was so humid outside. It is really difficult to enjoy your food - even at a Waffle House - when it is too cold. The response to requests & comments about the cold? A smile. Who has ever had a bad meal here? Nobody I'm sure. I've been stopping by to eat late night meals here for several years and never had a bad meal! Excellent service, perfect made meals and always clean. One cook can prepare 8 plates at one time with no visible ticket only verbal. We went to Waffle House at 10 pm we were the only people there I went inside sat down really hungry and excited, Waffle House is my favorite but this one was terrible, I ordered Texas toast egg and bacon sandwich and asked for crispy bacon and hashbrowns, once they got to our table it looked terrible, the hashbrowns in the middle looked so undercooked and unappetizing the outside of the hashbrowns also looked terrible they were burnt, I don't know how they did it but they burnt the hashbrowns on the outside and made them uncooked and gooey in the middle, the sandwich toast was uncooked and it looked like the eggs were cooked in a blender, the bacon was not crispy at all after 1 bite I said nope and ordered a chocolate chip waffle, when the waffle came it was so uncooked it was the equivalent of dough shaped as a waffle we asked for a more cooked one and they gave us a more cooked one but they covered it in chocolate chips I could barely even see the waffle, and yes I did ask for chocolate chips but not a mountain of them, after that we just admitted defeat and left, wasn't the servers fault but the cooks fault, NEVER go unless it's during popular hours so there will be experienced staff, it's like going to a restaurant 2 minutes before they close and they give you the left overs.
