Well, if you believe my mom's theory that anyone named Durand is related to us. To be fair, I have already found one actual relative using this exact logic, so who knows about ol' SMD. Anyway, this place is insanely popular, requires reservations, and there is a reason for that. The food is awesome. Gumbo? Awesome. Etouffee? Awesome. Steaks? Damn great. The pork chop? Hell yes. And then there is the Breaux Bread. Get away from me, Satan. That stuff is way too good. Like, lawd have mercy, why would you do this to me good. They also usually have live music on the weekends, often a solo singer, and every time we have been the music has been great. It adds to the whole atmosphere without taking over the room. The staff is super fun, the cocktails are great, they have a really good bourbon selection, and the wine list is better than you might expect. This is not some little place surviving because it happens to be in Breaux Bridge. Sydnie Mae is a legitimately great restaurant that would be great anywhere. Wow this was special light airy like a soufflé with lump crab meat so amazing and delicious, the addition of the biscuit with the strawberry syrup and the grits made this a complete experience, definitely recommend this.
