I wasn't sure how this Waffle House would be, given the various reviews, but I can tell you firsthand, their food is FRESH. Our booth was situated right by the kitchen and we watched the cook make our food immediately after we ordered it. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The service was quick and very personable. Our waitress took time to ask us about our stay and let us know that this location was one of the original waffle houses. It wasn't too crowded, so we had a very relaxed meal. My latest foray into a House of Waffles...this one is in Breaux Bridge....sits right off I-10 at the Breaux Bridge exit.... What's nice about this location is that it sits alone and has a roomy parking lot....a lot of WH's are crammed cheek by jowl amongst other businesses and parking is correspondingly cramped especially for someone like me that drives a BAD (Big Ass Diesel)! This locale's parking lot seemed large enough for me to cut donuts if I'd so desired.... Inside, this WH was roomy as well, between stools and chairs have at least 12 places for individual diners (most WHs don't have that and are more taken up with booths) plus 9 booths.... Service with a smile was the given...ordered my usual and the cook was spot on and food was fresh, fast and delicious...as I've come to expect.... Of all the WHs I've hit in this great state (see my list) all have been spot on and met or exceeded expectations that I, as a WH connoisseur, carry in the door when I've stopped in.... read more

This is just an average Waffle House but then again, we love the old-fashioned waffles served at Waffle House. Upon entering we were surprised not to see the place packed and a couple open tables. However, it wasn't breakfast time or a weekend. We sat down at the corner table. One of the servers walked up to our table and told us she wouldn't recommend us sitting at that table because of the ants!!! Ants? Needless to say, we moved to another table but obviously they need to get that problem taken care of. We did order waffles and eggs. Waffles were just as good as ever. One egg was over easy and the other over hard. How did they manage that? Well, the yolk broke. Service was average -- nothing bad and nothing overly friendly either. read more

Food was consistent for a waffle house. The service was great. Lacy was amazing. Will return on future trips through the area.

My daughter said it had some bad reviews and we had a free breakfast coming to us at the hotel (and it really sucks) but I made the decision to go to Waffle House anyways and my low expectations were greatly exceeded. The place was very busy so me and the family sat up at the bar and we were treated to a show. The waitress was friendly and took our order immediately. We watched as she barked out the orders to the cook who never wrote anything down and no tickets were put up on the board either. He started preparing everyone's eggs, bacon and hash browns, etc and less than five minutes later we all had our breakfast dishes. I watched in amazement the teamwork in the kitchen performing this over and over and they had the tiniest food shelf in front of the griddles which made things difficult for them, but they got through it every time. Maybe the owner can spring for a wider shelf for them. My eggs were perfectly cooked as well as my grits and bacon. My wife had hash browns and they were really good too. I will definitely stop here again. read more

We were heading back to San Antonio from vacation and wanted one last sit down breakfast. I realize most places are short staffed- that's the reality of life now. We were greeted with a warm welcome and we were helped. I've never gotten my food so quickly and efficiently before at a Waffle House. They were short staffed but the employees all worked together and they did an amazing job of helping customers and had a system. Thank you Waffle House #826. Bless all of you! I don't know if the guy was new or on drugs. We sat, ordered our drinks, and took forever to get coffee, and mr. pibb. Ordered and received our meats almost immediately. Sat there and watched the waiter deliver my plate to another customer. When the customer complained, waiter took plate back to the cook, who scraped off the eggs and bread onto a new plate, a dip up a bowl of grits, threw on plate and tried to serve it to me. Conversation: Waiter: Here's your plate sir! Me: excuse me, but did you just try to serve that plate to another customer. Waiter: huh? Me: didn't you just try to serve that plate to another customer and it was wrong, so you are trying to serve it to me? Waiter: totally silent, didn't know what to say. We got up, paid for my coffee that I drank, and left. Here's a clue for you Waffle House in Breaux Bridge. Not only is it unsanitary to reserve a plate. It is also against Health Department Regulations. Once that plate hit the table, it can not be served to another customer. I just had a Heart Transplant, and sure don't need to take a chance on anything!!! read more

Worst service ever!!! Young girl "Sasha" worst waitress of the year. She brought me my food and my husband's sausage. I had finished my coffee and my breakfast ( we asked her twice for his waffle) when she finally brought the waffle, it was over cooked. You could hit it with your fork for a hard crunch sound. He said I am not going eat this cold sausage and hard waffle. Her response I'll take off the waffle. She needs retraining Mgr. who never came to see the problem. read more

It is interesting to be an outsider looking in. Right now I am witnessing what I can only describe as the worst attitude from a "manager in training". So far she has: been rude to her co-workers, refused to help with dishes, rolled her eyes at her manager over post shift work and when I finally decided to speak up after listening to her answer the phone, she told me it was only today, i am not her customer and that she had a lot going on. The tone and attitude of this "stellar employee" is certainly something to be seen. The food wasn't bad and ALL the other employees were very pleasant. Let's hope this "manager in training" only works part time :) read more

Experienced poor service her as the lady tried to give me faucet water. I won't be returning. Not clean.

Our waitress Roxie made our trip into the Waffle House as good as she could. She was busy...in the time we were there she waited on three different tables/groups, filled the ice, and was doing dishes. Now, that cannot be said for the others. The only other waitress I saw moving was Lanita. She worked the cash registered mostly. But what frustrated me most was Sarah. She was apparently the barker. So as I understand it, you order from Roxie, she walks the slip over the Sarah, who yells your order out, then stands there while others cook, then yells at Roxie to come get it. I'm not sure there is any value add in her position there but to demonstrate just how annoying someone yelling can be. She had plenty of time to be doing other things while everyone worked around her. Her disposition was terrible...the only sounds coming from her was yelling (often unnecessarily). The food is your basic Waffle House food, nothing like mom's, but beats eating fast food through a drive through window. Roxie and Lanita were busting their tales to make the experience quite and delightful...but I was overwhelmed by Sarah. read more
