On the trip home we stopped in Brunswick GA area off I-95 for Breakfast at Waffle House! We do not have one of these in Ripley and the kids LOVE LOVE LOVE Some waffles! Deacon went with Chocolate Chip Waffles *very surprised Saige didn't she's a chocolateholic! But she went with regular Waffles and both had Bacon as their sides with Deacon choosing Sprite and Saige Apple Juice! Kayla had a scrambled cheesy egg with sausage, toast and hash browns with cheese and water! I went with Fried Egg, Bacon and Toast! The waitress was very attentive and helpful! She was so friendly! The restaurant was very clean and orderly! Definitely would stop again and recommend to anyone traveling in the area! read more

My bestie boasts non-stop praise for Waffle House, while being very clear it is what it is, quick&cheap delicious eats, with a 'is it safe to eat here' vibe-though I've never stopped not because her tagline but because I'm usually a Denny's gal, but when our trip dinner plans got messed up, our hunger levels got high, and we wanted something hearty to eat while driving, we decided to check them out- ready to give her (&yelp) my honest review. She wasn't fibbing on the vibe- arriving at the location I walked into a desolate ambiance, with only two employees, who gave me a brief bit of concern 'who is going to manage cooking' feeling. But I was reassured right away because they cook to order- and I was able to see the fresh ingredients being prepared- We ordered two all-star specials: one with bacon & hashbrowns, one with ham & grits- both with biscuits & pb waffles. It was neat to experience the speed & ease at which the short order cook had it all done & ready- well packaged to-go (small upcharge convenience fee) The waffles were buttery, fluffy, dense w.ample peanut butter chips which melted on top immediately into creamy deliciousness- the ham & bacon were well charred to ideal crispiness, the hashbrowns had a nice crunch, while the grits were buttery moist, and the biscuits were well-balanced dense & fluffy Overall, I think I may change to be a Waffle House gal versus Denny's because while I love Denny's pancakes the side dishes from the Waffle House were far better in flavor & quality- for only 11$ it was a very hearty, pleasant meal- not overly greasy & since everything was clearly made-to-order in front of me it all tasted fresh read more

This has to be the saddest waffles we have ever had at any waffle house ever! They're virtually thin pancakes with some dimples to hold the syrup. The only reason I'm giving it five stars is because the food all tasted good and the service was excellent. Our server told us that for whatever reason, their waffle irons just do not make them the way other locations do. She told us for whatever reason, the waffle house on Saint Simons Island has the best irons that seem like they could never be ruined, but these are the flattest, saddest waffles. She offered to remake them, but I would imagine they're just gonna turn out the same way. If someone from Corporate sees this, PLEASE give them some new irons! read more

The service here was friendly and professional and overall, it was a good experience. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. On Mother's Day a group of ladies went out for breakfast. Now we thought it was going to be a long wait however the waitress said give me one minute and I will have your table ready. We probably waited 8-10 minutes if that and we were seated. They were very busy due to the holiday but each and every person that worked in there jet checking each booth to see if everybody was okay. I got the 3 egg plate with a waffle on the side. The only issue was if they would clean as they go being that it's an open environment to see how they cook your food it would be much better but again it was Mother's Day. The bacon had a pretty color to it which let me know it wasn't over cooked. The grits were very cream with butter all over it which you didn't need to add anymore to it. First time at Waffle House- traveling from Fl to NC. Yes, there is no ambiance, and seems like it's been the same look from Decades ago when they started the business. But this is the classic "don't judge a book by its cover" especially if you're there for food and not decor Breakfast is perfect! Love the open style cooking- you knnnnow and see how your food is being prepared- ingredients are fresh since the turnover is consistent. There were 6 short order cooks and counted at least 4 servers. FFFFFFFRIENDLY!!!! Greeted you like you've been there before. The employees seemed like they were just hanging out enjoying what they were doing. Very old style home style ambiance. Holly got my order exactly the way I ordered and wanted it. Absolutely terrible. I go into this place and I order a cheese omelette plate with a regular side of sausage and an orange juice. This is what I told the woman taking my order. I wait extra long due to customers that are eating inside and my order was to-go. My food is handed to me and there is a grilled cheese sandwich, hash browns, and a regular side of sausage in the bag. I go back in to tell the employee that my order is wrong. She offers to fix it, but, after a few minutes of waiting, I was too annoyed by this so I decided to just leave. With my $5.00 tip included, my order was $20.60. I placed the orange juice bottle in my pocket after I paid for my order initially. I literally paid twenty dollars for an 11.5 Fl. Oz. Orange juice. As long as you come for breakfast only there's nothing wrong with the Waffle House. This location rests feet from I-95 and is where you'll get off to go to Jekyll Island, leaving it close to and endless number of travelers. While the food remains sub par, like all Waffle Houses, you'll find fair service and friendly associates at this location. We, unfortunately, had a server in training who charged us more than $5 more than our bill should have been, but a senior employee fixed it and hopefully educated the staff member how to properly calculate tax. For a quick waffle and coffee this is a safe bet. read more

Not thrilled at all. I'm sure you know how small a Waffle House is well there were more than 11 people working for the breakfast shift on Saturday 5/27. They were tripping over each other talking loudly about personal things, sharing pictures and ignoring the 16 diners. I sat at the counter right next to the cash station so the waitress was near me several times but never once asked how my food was or if I wanted more coffee and I was never asked if I wanted water. The breakfast was not so great. I ordered a waffle and was asked if I wanted pecans but was not told it would be extra. I received cold, dried out toast with cold butter on it, over cooked eggs (I order over med and they were med well w/semi-hard center), an undercooked waffle that fell apart when I tried to pick up a bite plus the bacon was so dry and crisp that it crumbled upon touch. The waitress at the counter had a snotty I'm better than you look as she looked down at me. I felt very uncomfortable. I'm just a normal grandma type older lady who was kind and friendly but she made me feel unwanted. read more
