I tried the Italian today without the ham and was surprised how appealing I found the bread. The sandwich itself grew on me over time. I did find the medium for $8 a little small compared to their competitors, but the ingredients are better than some others. Don't come in hungry 30 minutes to 1 hour before they close because the employees will stare you down in disgust and disbelief. Almost within the same week, my family has gone there after sporting events. The first time we went we arrived an hour and ten minutes before closing time. The staff was in total shock; they stared at us and mumbled under their breaths. The second time we went in it was about 32 minutes before closing. As soon as we walked to the counter the cashier, seemingly put out, quickly let us know they close in about 30 minutes. The rest of the staff was bickering and mumbling because we were eating inside; We had 3 kids and 2 adults with us. The whole time we were there, the employees were talking loudly stating they weren't answering the phones anymore, that they turned the light off earlier (talking about the open sign), had the restrooms blocked off and just had bad attitudes overall. read more

Observations: One employee cleaning the steamers. Two employees talking in the office within view of the front counter and chatted and laughed, otherwise known as chilling. I don't know maybe it was an important meeting. I do apologize for viewing it as lazy chilling. One customer was sitting and still waiting for his order, while his sub was finished on the toaster belt fed oven, which no one was attending to. No other employees on the line. No acknowledgement of hello customer or let's check on the other dudes food who paid already. What a waste. Suggestions: Spend less time chilling and greet your customers. I'm pretty sure other Firehouse Sub restaurants in the other states are greeting with a common term like "Welcome to Firehouse". Check on customers orders. It's what they expect when they provided you your pay check. Suggestions of what NOT to do: Disregard customers walking into your place of business and watching them stand there and continue chatting as if customers have not already made of their mind on their order or as if they would need thirty minutes to think of which meat they would like on their bread. Firehouse subs is a busy place for lunch. This location is rather large with lots of seating, including some outdoor tables. I find the order counter area is too congested. There's the order line going any which way, competing with the drink machine line which runs into the order line. Try a Q line and move the drink station. Service is average, nothing more expected or received. The sub menu is large with specialty sandwiches or you can build your own. I like the Turkey or the hook and ladder. You can get it fully loaded or get it how you want. After ordering then the wait begins. This visit was a good 10 minute wait, remember it's the lunch rush. I placed a mobile order for delivery through the third party website "doordash" for our local store in Brunswick ga. Store located at 919 glynn Ave. Unfortunately the third party site shows the stores sales promotions and bogo specials on the site and presents it as if you are ordering the menu specials and then at the final stage of payment completion you discover the menu promotion you order doesn't actually apply. This may not seem like a big issue but I ordered online for bogo sandwiches so I can feed me and the kids and needed to receive the actual number of sandwiches I ordered in order to feed everyone. Unfortunately due to the bad set up of the doordash page and menu issues they ended up shorting me sandwiches even though i followed the rules and processe of ordering to the letter. Well u called the firehouse store to fix the issues and was very worried and upset I would be unable to feed my household right because of doordash and their bad company policies about refunds but the manager Brittany at my store was so very sweet and understanding helpful. She walked me through what happened and how the situation ended up arising and after hearing that it was doordash fault and mistake she still made sure to fix the order issue and make sure we received the right amount of sandwiches we ordered. She was professional and extremely helpful and if I owned a store i would consider myself extremely lucky to have an employee/ manager like her. A lot of restaurants in Brunswick could take some serious lessons from her on how to improve their level of service. The food was perfect and fresh and Brittany was impeccable with her level of service and should probably deserve a raise . Thank you for making me aware of the time frame in which my order will arrive. However, I honestly feel disappointed concerning my order. If you advertise you have an item on your menu for sale and you no longer have that item. I feel it should have been removed so that no one could purchase the product before paying for it. Then later to be told you don't have the item that was selected and I would need to choose something different. I had a taste for what I ordered instead of what I received. Instead, me being unsatisfied with my order my money should have been refunded because that was a mistake that your company made not mine. I work in the restaurant business and I know firsthand great customer service. Unfortunately, not everyone in this business or any other business relates. Firehouse felt somehow nostalgic, even though I had never been and do to know any firefighters. Strange. Meh. It's probably the bright red seats and wall paint -- cozy and familiar. Reminds me of the time I never lost. I love the ambiance of this chain location, as well as the cordial nature of the folks working there. Granted, I've been during a lull. I know this place gets packed beyond reason, so I imagine there are times when there is irate clawing for behind schedule sub orders. I don't care for the turkey sandwich. That's on me - I'm not a fan of turkey anyway. But I love the meatball sandwich and also the cheddar brisket sandwich. All of those are hot subs. They also serve cold subs, but I haven't had a chance to try any of those yet. What I love about the offerings are that they are fresh! And full flavor! You can taste the Italian seasoning. You can take the basil. You can taste the cheese. The meet is hearty - thick cuts. And bonus - you will find an assortment of hot sauce is ranked on a scale of 1 to 10 from light to flaming hot, burning your lips off spicy. We noticed that the 1s and 2s were missing. I went with a sample of one of their 7s and a 10. Yay to tingly lips!!! This is no Subway sandwich. In fact, in the face of a pitiful and puny Subway sandwich, Firehouse is all muscle. It's on par with Quiznos, but better. Though, Quiznos has so much more extensive menu. Still, Firehouse is far superior than any sub I can recall ever having had in life. 10/10 would try again. read more

I was in Brunswick for almost 6 months, and discovered this place when i was a couple months in. Since then, I would go to Firehouse Subs at least once a week. The subs are delicious. I rotated between club on a sub, turkey bacon ranch, the steak and cheese, and the hero (all hot specialty subs), I would highly recommend all of those. Also, their sandwiches are meaty. They don't skimp like other sub places. And they look like the picture. I think that's awesome. The staff is always so friendly. They greet everyone as they come in, they bring your sandwich to your table, and they check to see how everything is when they go about their duties around the store. I'm sad that I've gone and am no longer able to visit this location, but I definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the area. read more

Super late with my review but it was imperative that I write it. Good service deserves praise. It was approximately 5 minutes to closing, my friends and I had just got out of the movies and was very hungry. I opened the door and asked if they were still serving, they were already cleaning and the grills had already been cleaned. They just said if you don't mind waiting a bit for the sandwich since it's a hot sandwich. Normally you go somewhere so close to closing and the staff is normally rude or irritated. However Logan, Samuel, Alfa, Bree, Settles, and Dakwon were very pleasant. As this was my first time to firehouse subs I wasn't sure what I wanted so I was asking questions, which was probably annoying, however they all maintained a friendly professional attitude. The sandwich was also amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was larger than I expected. Great meat to bread ratio and just the right amount of mayo and ranch. Ever since I found out about this place I come at least one a week because it's that good. The subs are good every single time. Ivetried the Jamaican Jerk, Cajun chicken, brisket and a few others. Trust me, they are all good. I can't understand why they have a 3 star rating because the food is outstanding. However, it does take sometime for them to make the sub but thats understandable because you get a quality sub at the end. Still get 5 stars even with slight change. Ordered several sandwiches by phone for pickup. Everything was ready when we drove in. Got home and 4 of the sandwiches were perfect. The meatball sub was a truffle dry. Usually has a good deal of sauce on the bread but today the only sauce was on the meatballs. A dry sandwich.However, the flavor was still great. I always go through 3 or 4 napkins when eating the sandwich but today only 1 was needed. I highly recommend Firehouse . I am not a happy camper with this place. Came in for lunch the other day and everyone was extremely rude! And no one had any clue what they were doing. I get better service at subway. 1st off, I placed my order and it took 10 mins to get a cold cut sandwich, then when I got my food I grabbed a bag of chips that I paid for!, and the manager questioned Me if I paid for them or not. Like dude yes I did here is my receipt. She said if next time I came in I should grab them before i paid so that there wouldn't be any confusion.. are you joking? Firehouse Subs is a chain comparable maybe to a Quiznos. They feature a great menu of hot subs and as for this particular place have great service. They pile on the meat and so their regular sub (a 6 inch I believe) will leave you plenty satisfied. They do a lot to benefit firefighters too so why not get a good sub and have your money go someplace good in the process? :) read more

I'm not very happy with this place today. I understand getting a piece of the order wrong but they got a lot of it wrong. I ordered an Italian on white bread no onions/tomatoes with hot peppers. Not that complicated. I got wheat bread, with onions, no mayo, and no Italian seasoning. I mean how can that order be messed up that bad. Even worse, I get home, sit on the couch, and open my sandwich to this mess.
