We are from California and we have friends from the south who recommended that we try a Waffle House. So here we are in Clarksville for a birthday party and across the street from our hotel is a Waffle House. We came in on a Saturday morning and there was a short wait, about 15 minutes, then got seated at the counter. The place has a cool diner feel to it. The menu is pretty straight forward with the standard breakfast fare. We ordered waffles, of course, along with traditional items, eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, toast and grits. The food was pretty standard which did not blow us away, but the waffles were pretty tasty with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. The prices are very reasonable. Two meals with coffee came out to be $25-30 before tip. In CA, this same breakfast would have been close to $50. Overall, good experience, glad we came in. read more

How can you not stop at Waffle House on a road trip? Staff greeted us and said to sit anywhere. Our server Raquel was fast and friendly. I decided to try their new chicken protein bowl, and RJ got a waffle and sausage and biscuit. The protein bowl was tasty with grilled chicken and fluffy eggs. Folks, let me begin this review with saying it's a Waffle House. You're not going to get gourmet food here. However, you will get a good meal for a decent price. I have been to this location several times before. It is often very busy, and if that's not any indication on the quality, then I don't know what is. Today was no exception. They were packed. But even so, I didn't have to wait long to get a table at the front counter. I got my usual unsweetened iced tea, and it was quite good. No complaints with the quality or the strength of the tea. I got the traditional egg breakfast with grits instead of hashbrowns and cheese in my eggs. The eggs and everything else on the plate came to me hot and fresh cooked. Very tasty. And I couldn't have had a nicer meal. The staff here is very pleasant, kind, and attentive. They keep the tables bussed and cleaned promptly. I don't think you can ask for much more than that. I didn't feel neglected or ignored at any point in my stay. As I said before, the prices are reasonable for the value I got. I will be back for sure. read more

Ordered an iced tea. Got about four ice cubes in it. When I asked for a cup of ice, I was told, somewhat curtly, that she was "low on ice, that's why." I ended up cancelling my order & leaving. Here's the thing - just tell me when I order the ICED tea that you are so low on ice that I will be getting lukewarm tea. Then it's my decision. Or, better yet, buy ice. When I worked in restaurants, we had terribly finicky ice machines & we had an ice vendor on call at all our locations. They also had both front doors propped open (for no reason I could see) with chairs. While the outer doors were fine, I think the inner doors presented a fire hazard. read more

Stopped in the other day while visiting my daughter. Place was recommended and did not disappoint. The atmosphere is very casual, and the servers are friendly and attentive. I was very impressed by the portion size of my breakfast plate. Had a waffle, grits, over medium eggs and several cups of coffee. Sat at the front counter, watched to crew work in unison to get food prepared, plated and out to customers. They were a cheerful bunch and really enjoyed the tasks at hand. I will be back. read more

When in the south it is required to eat one breakfast at the Waffle House. So we did. I got the "super special" that was a waffle, sausage, eggs, hash browns and a biscuit. Way too much food for a fair price. The waffle was good but not real butter. The sausage solid but the biscuit was just fair. The others in the group were all satisfied with their meals. Since it's 24/7, you can eat breakfast at dinner. My boyfriend recommended this place because they have good food. No wonder why he's always eating here. More cheaper than ihop. Food was freshly made and delicious, served quickly with excellent service. WHAT WE ORDERED: All star Special (waffle, 2 eggs, grits, toast and with a choice of sausage, bacon or city ham. Country ham is extra $1) my boyfriend substituted grits to hashbrown. Sausage, egg, cheese hashbrown bowl with extra cheese (who wouldn't love extra cheese on top of their hashbrowns lol). This is by far the cleanest and friendliest Waffle House I have ever visited. The staff members are always kind and helpful--always with a smile and an attitude of genuine kindness and a pride in their service. I left my wallet here by accident, and it was stored safely in the manager's office until I was able to pick it up a few days later. I was so relieved and grateful for the honesty and protectiveness of the staff. A special shoutout to Joi, who truly lives up to her name. I have never had an experience here that didn't make me feel wanted and welcome. And, as always, the waffles are a Southern American staple! A great waffle house, which was fairly quiet on a Tuesday morning. Service was quick and great, with them checking in on me and giving me refills, etc all the time. Was in and out in around 20-25 minutes which is great when you are on the go. Peppered hash browns are great but waffle house always could make the bacon crispier. This place is a standard American diner. All the usual basics are offered. What made it a standout was we went about 10:00 at night and the place was HOPPING! We went for the reliable Waffle House basics, but the staff (looking at you Janet!) will keep us coming back when we are in the area. Food was wonderful and so was my server, I believe her name was Bianca. Although I decided to sit at the high top and the other server, I was told her name was ghea, continuously sprayed me in the face with the water from the dish pit and downright ruined my food and turned my experience awful. Our first visit to a Waffle House. The reviews for this location had it more highly rated than IHOP so we thought we would try it. Food and service was very fast. Good for travelers who want to eat real food and quickly get back on the road. I enjoyed the hashbrown bowl. Bacon was alittle undercooked or fatty? Best part of the the experience was the staff. Carla was our waitress, very sweet, friendly and fast. (She reminded me of a young Dolly Parton.) Southern hospitality was evident not just how the staff treated customers but how they interacted with each other. Susan (hostess?) was exceptionally welcoming with our two young daughters. I came last night and waited a hour just to not be seen or nobody came to take my order. There were only 3 tables with 5 servers . I came back today to see if i would be able to place an order with only One table and 4 servers just to have to wait another 30 mins. Moral of the review is i feel there should be better customer service in place at least tell us you'll see us or itll be a 15 min wait or something. My husband and I have always wanted to try Waffle House, and on a long road trip to Nashville (and back) we were finally able to stop at one! Service: Vicky was our server, Marie was the supervisor, and Reggie was the breakfast cook; they were all super welcoming and friendly. We went in at 5.30 am, after they had a particularly busy night due to the Labor Day weekend. They couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating, even though I'm sure they were exhausted. Food: really delicious! Hubbs got the sirloin steak and eggs, and a waffle of course- all of which Reggie cooked perfectly. I got a hash brown bowl and a blueberry waffle. Everything was delicious! We ended up taking the food to go and it was just as good a little while later. Price: quite decent. We spent $32 (including tip) but got enough food to last all day to be honest. They are very ghetto and unorganized,leave to African American people to be at work arguing with each other in front of customers. Instead of making my order they was arguing with each other. I placed an order and watched two other people get their order before me and they ordered after me. I asked for a refund and told the people that work behind the counter quit arguing and quit being ghetto. They just had a blank stare on their face. The crazy part the manager was in the building acting clueless. They need to throw the whole Waffle House away. Don't go here the service is no service. I am contacting corporate with a complaint. I know how bourgeois I am, but still. I don't get it. My eggs were cold. The hash browns were grease noodles. The ketchup tasted old. The white bread sort-of toast was soggy. My coffee mug had a fresh ring of lipstick on it. The waffle was okay, I guess. I'm not knocking the waitress. I want to make that clear, because it's obvious she was working hard to make sure everyone was happy. The experience as a whole though is just...not for me. I'll leave it at that. read more

Sitting at the counter, we observed 10 Waffle House employees working exceptionally well together. I could not tell who was in charge and who wasn't because all were together, the same rhythm same goal to the same end, good hot food, served quickly and with great service!
