First things first, the server gets a 5 and the meal gets a 1, so the overall score is a mixed bag. Secondly, I regret I didn't get the server's name, but I do remember she was pregnant. She was so great and if she isn't the manager, she should be. Something happened with my drink and she didn't try to shift blame; she just offered solutions. She also recognized our presence witin seconds of entering the establishment and pointed us to a clean booth. She may have been tired, but she did not transfer that energy to her customers. She smiled and checked on us often. Things will go wrong because we're all just human, but taking responsibility and having a pleasant disposition goes a long way!!! I know that it sounds like being the valedictorian of summer school but honestly there's always a 'good' Waffle House in town that's cleaner, the service is better and the food is better. Worst service I've seen at a Waffle House. Avoid at all costs. We were the only people seated and the server still managed to forget things even though we were the only ones there. WORST WAFFLE HOUSE I've ever been to. My wife is pregnant, we walked in and instead of anyone helping us they just stood there and stared at us. The order came out extremely fast and accurate. The lady had great customer service skills, refills, taking plates out of the table as we finish with them. Seating: You sit where ever there's an empty table/seat/booth. We got in there and we wanted to sit at a booth that we were eyeing from the outside, but there was mess still over it and no one showed up to clean it up until we were finished ordering our food. We had to sit on the stools facing the workers making the food. Its extremely uncomfortable for me to sit in front of people who are working and next to strangers when I am trying to talk to my husband. Service: Was okay. They bring your check to you and then you go over and pay for it at the cash register. The cash register space is so unbelievably small that you are literally standing next to someone that is eating their food, if you shifted your weight you could brush shoulders with them. Its a bit uncomfortable. Wait: The wait time for the food was about 15 minutes. Not too bad Price: You don't really have to pay an arm and a leg for your food, so its good for breakfast & lunch. The customer service here is worse than HORRIBLE. My husband and I walked in on a busy Sunday breakfast. We expected to have a bit of a wait so no big deal there. A booth opens up that was not yet clean but two young men sat there anyway and waited for the servers to come clean the remaining dishes off of the table (important, keep this in mind). She walked past us I'd say 3-4 times without making any type of eye contact, which looked so obvious that it was on purpose, before she sloppily said "I'll be with you guys in a second". Didn't make eye contact then either. I mean REALLY??? You guys depend HEAVILY on tips and this is how you treat someone who will potentially put money in YOUR pocket? Went to here for the first time. We walked right in and sat down. Waited about 5 mixtures before anyone actually saw us. The waitress took our drink orders the came back took the food orders. Worst customer service ever. This is unfortunate because I very much like the morning staff. Husband, daughter and I left very unsatisfied and disappointed we spent our money there. Night staff is younger and treats the business as a joke. We hadnt even sat down and we were already being asked to order. She says "do you know what you want yet?" I said no I need a minute to look it over and she responded with "do you know what you want to drink atleast?". There was no other customers so I do not understand why we were being rushed. The amount of sass we got for asking simple questions was astounding. My husband asked if they serve milkshakes and she said "well no this isn't Wendy's". He then asked if he can order from the breakfast menu (it was 8pm and we assumed it was dinner menu only, we are from the Pacific NW and we dont have waffle house there) and she replied with "well they do call this place waffle house". Again, a simple yes you can order the whole menu all day wouldve been just fine!!! We are a 21 year old couple so we are younger as well, and there is no excuse to act that way. My daughter dropped her fork and we could not get anyone attention for a new one so my husband had to reach over the counter to get a new one. Staff from a previous shift was liotering in the dining area and the whole staff, on and off duty, were so obnoxious. Yelling , laughing really loud, messing around shouting inside jokes and telling eachother to get out of the restaurant. Very unprofessional. After taking our order the waitress attending to us shouted "can I go out for a cigarette now?!". That caught me off guard. I'm a smoker too, and the jobs I've worked at all expressed to me that is very unprofessional and rude to ask for a break or a smoke in front of customers. My order came back wrong, didnt want to send it back just wanted to eat and leave, my daughter hated the taste of the food and refused to eat (very unlike her), and my husbands came back bland and he got very sick when he got back home (he had the steak and eggs). We both agree to never return to this location. Will be calling and requesting to speak to the manager (may not do anything from what I've read about this place) Never in my life have I seen so many improperly trained, rude, and irresponsible employees... and I worked at a pizza place next to 16 year olds. We chose to not leave a tip, mind you I'm very kind to wait staff and cooks, I understand their position and stuff happens that cant be helped and patience gets you better service, and I ALWAYS tip. We decided to go to the Waffle House about 2:30 A.M on a Monday morning. We had just got finished working a long, busy, super bowl shift ourselves at a sports bar. I am a bartender and my husband is a cook. When we walk in, I immediately notice that ever single seat in the restaurant is dirty. There were only 2 other couples in the restaurant. We find ourselves a seat and have to ask for it to be wiped down. We give the gentleman our order and then proceeded to wait more then 5 minutes before a cook was even insight. Apparently he was outside. No biggie, but if he was outside obviously he had to see a car pull up and know people were about to order. The two couples who were there have already left before we get our food. Once we get our food, both the cook and the server disappear into the back. Now every table in the restaurant is dirty. Like I said in the beginning of this novel. We work in the restaurant industry and there is no way I would have stepped off the floor with my restaurant looking that way. There was another lady who had came in while we did and ordered her food and received it at the same time. So as we all start to enjoy our food. She asked my husband if this bug crawling on the counter top looked like a roach. Indeed it was a roach crawling on the top of the counter.. She hollered for the staff and when they too confirmed it was a roach the still didn't bust a move to at least attempt to clean up not one table. I understand it's the Waffle House but come on take some pride in your job! Y'all are basically feeding the things. Service wasn't bad but restaurant was just filthy. There must be a golden rule to waffle house and that is to never order steak there. I ordered an 8 oz ribeye medium rare at this waffle house. I see them take the frozen steak out of the freezer, and they quickly cooked it. The istant that I saw my steak, I knew that it was undercooked. It was brown on the outside and raw in the inside. The only reason I am giving this place a 2 star is because the waitress seemed like she cared that I got my food how I wanted it. She took the steak from my plate and recooked it. The steak came back, and it was still undercooked. The eggs were rubbery and greasy. I will never come back to any waffle house again.
