Waffle was not done, goodie in the middle! Place was dirty, had to wait 20 minutes for someone to clean the table and then had to ask them to clean the trash on the floor. The syrup bottle was covered with syrup and the lid was not on tight. Will never go back to that Waffle House. read more

Tony and I went hiking this weekend at Burgess Falls State Park and stopped at the exit 186 off I-40 to reach our destination and opted to stop at Waffle House to grab some breakfast for energy before partaking on our hiking adventure. The restaurant was a little empty at 8am and plenty of friendly staff. They had a jukebox and was encouraging people to put their money in and play their favorite songs (no TV's)..I liked the atmosphere. Our waitress was Marlene and she was extremely friendly and talkative (which I love)..Tony ordered a double Cheeseburger at 8am...lol!!! with Tomato, Lettuce and grilled onions and american cheese and a sweet tea..with hash browns with mushrooms and onions..I chose the chicken/cheese wrap with tomatoes, onions and lettuce and side of jalapenos with unsweetened tea with lemon. Our food was very good and only $13.28 with taxes. I pulled my food out of my wrap and made a salad our of my fixings..The wrap burrito tortilla was grilled and tasted fine but I am cutting back on points with My weight watchers so I didn't want the extra 4 points. So with the grilled chicken and veggies..for only 3 points..great deal on my points...loved it!!! Also the chicken gave me great protein and energy for my hiking. I recommend the restaurant. This is the best Waffle I've been to in a long time. I travel quite a bit and Waffle House is a good go to place when you don't know the area you're in. But I feel like most of them have lost the fundamental Waffle House traditions. This place hasn't. The staff is friendly, especially our waitress, Tab. And they run like a well oiled machine. We ate at both Waffle Houses in Cookeville. This location has no sign off the Interstate so most out of towners don't know it's here. It was far less crowded than the other location. The food is the same low quality food all Waffle House locations offer. Meanwhile, the service was up to par. In fact, the same cook we had the two days prior at the other location worked a shift at this spot and did a great job with our breakfast. Wow. We stopped here for a quick breakfast pit-stop during a long road trip and I set my expectations pretty low. I'd never been to a Waffle House, but I hadn't heard very good things. Everything about this pit-stop was phenomenal -- from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Immediately, a receptionist warmly greeted us and found us a seat. Our waitress was there immediately. Food came a few minutes later; it was fresh, delicious, and oh so cheap. On our way out, we asked for water and our waitress immediately filled up a couple to-go cups for us. It feels weird to write this much about a fast food restaurant, but they really stole my heart. FAST, FRIENDLY, DELICIOUS and CHEAP. I couldn't ask for anything more. Maybe this one particular WH is the exception to the rule. A great, affordable meal! My sister and I were starving for some dinner on the 4th of July, and the Waffle House filled the bill in every way. The food is very affordable, with the options to add some fixin's to your hash browns. I have to say the fixin's were not necessarily fresh stuff (the mushrooms were canned), but they are very cheap, and once they were cooked-up in the hash browns, they were still delicious. I had a waffle (for $3.00), and the hash-browns (under $2.00), with mushrooms, cheese, onions and tomatoes (@ .80/ea). The coffee was fresh and was refilled whenever it was low. Been eating at Waffle House for years, and had a bad experience tonight. I found that they had no management. Or perhaps bad management. When I entered the restaurant on S. Willow avenue # 931 I found two employs, one young lady waited on me and the other young man seemed to be sitting at a table talking to his girlfriend. The young lady that waited on me had problems getting my order right. Then the young man brought me a Coke that I hadn't ordered. I told him I didn't order a Coke and the young lady had just left me some water. The young lady said to him I said I needed a cook. At that time the young man went outside and retrieved the cook. At that time I was the only one in the restaurant, there were more people in the parking lot than the restaurant. I finally got the right omelet. I felt bad for the young lady that waited on me, so I left her a tip. But when I got to the register she short changed me. I could tell she was having problems so I took the change and left. The ticket # was 334377433 the cost of the meal was $9.65. I gave her a twenty dollar bill and she gave me back the cost of the meal. But she should of given me $10.35 I no I will probably here nothing from your restaurant. Your staff needs to think about how they are perceived in a work place. read more
