Went here on a Friday morning after an appointment and was really surprised. We all know what we're getting at Waffle House - it isn't healthy or gourmet, but simple and greasy. I want to write a funny review of the Waffle House (it's not actually built of waffles!) but I will pass on that because compared to other Waffle Houses this one was clean, efficient, and I didn't get sick after eating there. The special thing about this experience was it was Christmas Eve and the young lady who helped us (Shelby) was quick, efficient, and didn't complain about working on Christmas Eve/Christmas. Yeah, we're part of the problem for not eating before we left the house and traveling on the actual holiday (NEVER AGAIN) but she treated us like it was a regular Tuesday. Also, an extra star for people not smoking outside the door. Some of us aren't "allergic to smoke*" but have legit respiratory issues and it's vexing to have people who want to destroy their own health say, "You're coming with us if you want through this door." Before we shop at Walmart my wife and I will have breakfast at the Waffle House in Corydon's. We like breakfast, we tried Toast on Market the other day, a big Yukkie . Of all the places we've had breakfast, Waffle House is the best by far, considering the prices. Plus the service is always fast and great. If you're looking for a great breakfast and quick good service, this is the place, if you're looking for ambience or fancy stuff for an occasion, I get it, hit the Bristol or French Lick hotels. read more

Indiana no longer allows smoking in any restaurant. For that we can all be grateful. The menu hasn't changed since my last review. You can still get a big, greasy pile of artery clogging Americana for just a few bucks. The staff has changed over the years. Most of them are very good at their jobs and get it all done right without breaking a sweat. During our most recent visit, Sexy Beast and I were subjected to the bungling and mishaps that go along with two new employees being left to their own devices. Open 24 hours a day, with free WiFi and plenty of places to charge whatever electronics need charging. When you're sleeping in a collapsed tent on top of grass covered in goose poop and bathing in a river this comes in handy. Also, when we walked in one of the women asked us: "Smoking or non-smoking?" and before we could even begin to answer another woman cut in with: "Do we even HAVE a non-smoking section?" Basically this place is super friendly, the cheesy egg combo is the best freaking thing I have had in life (and really you know if you like Waffle House in general this is THE BEST ONE EVER that I have been to, and I am basically a Waffle House aficionado) and it is perfect for chain-smoking and drinking cup after cup of coffee and plotting adventures at 4AM. great for really late at night, after the bar's close and you want to watch the idiots come in and wear their food. you can sit back, watch several free comedy shows all at the same time - now sometimes it's a bit of a headache being the only sober person for miles - so - bring a friend, sometimes in small town's it takes e of ya to figure out what caused the fight. food is always great, always a show - live entertainment from customers - staff - let me just say, these people put up with more c4 than our military!! and they do it with grace - bless their hearts!! working for tips, because you would cry if you knew their pay .... i cried... tip them well guy's - they work their humps off!! read more

I ordered from the highway. They were very accommodating, making a fiesta omelet as a wrap to go. It was ready to when I arrived. The vegetables were cooked well and it was easy to handle in the car. The restaurant was pretty clean, from floor to tables to staff - not the usual greasy spoon I half expected. This Waffle House is one of the best restaurants I've ate at. I ordered the all star special with a side of biscuits and gravy. Every thing on my plate was seasoned just right. The biscuits and gravy was delicious. The best scrambled eggs I've had in a long time. My grits were creamy and buttery and good. My coworker got hash browns topped with chili. It was excellent. I was in the area for bidness...and while a 'continental' "free" breakfast from the hotel was tempting, nothing beats Waffle House. The food was exactly like i remembered from 20 years ago when I first tried it in Atlanta, only the prices had gone up. i like the distinctive taste of Waffle House sausage. i like that your food is cooked quickly right in front of you. As we walked in, It looked like a tornado came in and had breakfast. Now keep in mind it's 2am on aWednesday. Not one clean table with one cook one waitress. So we over look no clean tables and help clean our table off. My husband orders a double hamburger with bacon and hash browns. I order the All star with toast, grits scrambled eggs,sausage and waffle. So it come grits look liked they had been there all day. Waitress takes them back. My husband bacon was so burnt and then she forgot to even make my waffle. By the time the new bacon came out the burger was cold and I still didn't get my waffle until I reminded her. The she lied and said wasn't sure where it was. Now you and I know she don't even make it. Why can't you just say that. We was the only customer in the store. Maybe I came here on an off night. Maybe I have higher expectations based on my experiences at other locations. Regardless, I wasn't impressed, even for it being diner fare. I had a western omelet, biscuits and gravy, and hashbrowns. The omelet didn't have nearly enough filling in it. I had to ask for a new order of hashbrowns that were actually crispy and not greasy/soggy. The biscuits and gravy were meh. The waitress had a limp (I have nothing against disabled individuals) and she could barely walk and was spilling food and drinks on the floor as she went, which is a safety hazard. I might give this location another shot at a different time of day. Will update review if it's better then. read more

As a rule I hate Waffle House... it's usually dirty, dingy, the the food is subpar....but this one might surprise you. I honestly only went because my kids keep seeing the sign and asking if we can go. As a mom, I have ZERO problem saying "no"....but my husband...yeah he totally gave in. I'm glad he did. This place has the perfect balance between "casual" and "professional". I always get nervous when I walk into a place and I'm asked to seat myself because I think they are going to forget about me, but this place is small and the waitress comes over VERY quickly, and always with a smile and very friendly. The food is made fresh. Everything comes out pipping hot. Not only that, I went back recently when we had a storm. My husband was at work and I was there with my kids alone. The waitress asked me if I needed anything (which is normal), but THEN she asked me if she could even help me cut the kids' food so that we could get started eating. That is going ABOVE AND BEYOND. This hasn't changed my outlook on ALL Waffle Houses, but if I DO go to Waffle House THIS will always be my location of choice. read more
