St Aloysius is located in the downtown portion of small Shephedsville Kentucky tucked away In a residential neighborhood. Like most Catholic fish Fry's the speciality is fish sandwiches. But they will serve other things such as oysters, shrimp, onion rings and desserts. This fish fry the last few years has been drive thru only. Me and my family enjoy checking out several Catholic Church fish fry's during Lenten season and when some of our close family friends who belong to st aloysius told us to try this we grabbed an order and went to there house and had family dinner together. Pricing is on par with other fish frys. $6 a fish sandwich. They actually had a pretty large dessert menu that included a home made chocolate cake from the priest. The priest took our order so I actually ordered a slice. Our fish sandwich was pretty good. Not the best local fish fry sandwich but still good. I'd still rather have this than a fast food chain any day. Good sized and nice flavor. The shrimp was solid. A little over cooked on this visit. My wife said the onion rings and oysters was pretty good and we got the kids a cheese pizza slice and they said it was alright. Kinda on par with a little Cesar's if they had to make a comparison. For desserts we got a normal chocolate cake, an awesome chocolate cake (this is what the priest named his homemade one), a brownie and a Chocolate mint brownie. The brownies were huge and tasty. Was kinda shocked to see a mint chocolate brownie at a smaller church fish fry but it was good. Both chocolate cakes were pretty good. I tried both and I will say fathers was better. He did a good job on his hand made cake. Overall nice fish fry. I do have some in person ones locally I prefer that have better fish and fun activities. But, this one is nice too and the workers were all great. We would come back for sure.

Owner Marlin Brown will proudly tell you that the restaurant has won best fish and best tenderloin in town awards. We were greeted and treated like royalty during our visit. We ordered at the counter and our food was delivered quickly. Marlin and another clerk checked on us several times and cajoled with us during our meal. It is no wonder the restaurant fills with guests so quickly. The dining room is not fancy or trendy, but super clean and cozy. Humorous fish and local sporting pictures hang on the wall. I had the fried fish meal. The fish is wild-caught Alaskan whitefish. The fish portion was generous (I chose not to have the sandwich). The fish was lightly battered and flakey. The creamy coleslaw was very good. And I loved that they carried unsweetened ice tea (but I could have used some fresh lemon). My husband had the daily special of ham and bean soup, fried potatoes and a beautiful corn muffin. Portions are generous. Marlin shook our hands when we left and invited us back. We will be back soon. On Tuesdays, pork tenderloins are BOGO! There is limited parking in their lot (even the parking lot is pristine).

Wednesday are buy one get one free pulled pork sandwiches. This service was fast, and very friendly. They know the regulars. Most menu items are house made. Deserts are fantastic too. Very casual cozy dinning area, but there are no public restrooms. Don't forget to grab a toothpick from near the register. I believe they were offering a cash discount, and they did not present a receipt with a tip added line for a debit card purchase , so bring cash for a tip. No

She asked me what they had, so I jumped up and said I'd see. Went next door grabbed a menu, and studied it! Decided on shrimp and oysters. Went back, and a handsome guy, Mark, asked me for my order, when I got to the counter. He asked me how I wanted my oysters fried! Who does this? How awesome to actually be asked! I told him I wanted my oysters to be fried on the "hard" side. He went and put my order down. When it was ready, I had shrimp (#4) and oysters (#4), fries, and a delicious coleslaw slaw as my other "side!) I had Mark take some of my order placed in a. Separate bag, so my Mom, could have her own! We set down in her doctor's waiting room lobby, and tasted our selections! The shrimp were lightly fried in a light, crispy batter and delicious! The oysters were a lovely dark brown, so I could visually see that they were fried hard! They were fried perfectly! The surprise for me was the French fries! They were so soft and fluffy! They were so good hot, but I was astonished that I cold even eat their fries . . . Cold! How is this possible??? I hate cold fries! These were great hot or cold! The cole slaw was creamy and delicious. The best thing is that their ingredients are fresh, and their meats are Halal! Organic and grass fed! They have fish and chicken combo plates! So hungry, I forgot to take fotos! I will the next time, because I most definitely will be going back! They have daily lunch specials for $9.99, Monday -Friday, from10:30-2:30. They include fried and a drink! A lot of construction guys get food from here, because the food is great and you get fast and efficient service!
