Folks... it's a Waffle House! No frills or fancy was, just pure Waffle House goodness. My meal is always the same. But this location did it right. The waffle and hash browns were cooked perfectly. The coffee was that perfect WH coffee that always tastes spot on. But overall- the staff was friendly and the place was clean. Perfect for that next morning mediation.

For real y'all - Waffle House is one of my most favorite restaurants. It's the place my parents used to stop on our way home to visit family when I was a child. It's the place I took my kids on our family night every Friday night (and then to Blockbuster to rent a movie). It's one of many places Anthony Bourdain dined in an episode of his show. Colt Ford even sings a song about it "Now I'm scattered, smothered and happy to be free." Everyone loves the Waffle House, right? I've been ordering the same thing for as long as I can recall - cheese and eggs breakfast with hash browns, raisin toast and sausage. Every now and again I'll change it up a bit and get the bacon lovers BLT with a bowl of Bert's chili. I'm sure I've had their burger and other dishes at some point, but the scrambled eggs with cheese are my favorite. The hubs doesn't share my adoration for this place, but he obliges most of the time. He gets different things and always enjoys it. The boys love the waffles and omelettes. Really, you can't go wrong there if you're not afraid of greasy food. Waffle House restaurants seem to have the same quality of food and service across the board, and this location is no different. The prices are super cheap. The hubs and I can eat here for between $20-$25. For some reason, I like this one better than the other two that are closer to my house. I can't explain why.

Upon arriving we noticed the big parking lot, good location, and when we walked in we were greeted immediately. Inside was nicely decorated, dimly lit, and clean. We promptly got sat on a Sunday afternoon, and quickly got served water, got our drink orders, and food orders put in. The brunch menu is from 12-3, with mimosas and bloody Maria's. The bloody was really nice - could tell it had tequila! Old fashion was nice not overly Smokey. Onto the food, the tamales were some of the best I've had. They were HUGE. They came with birria, great consume, flavorful poblano rice, delicious poblano and corn cream (something of that nature) was so creamy and was GREAT. I couldn't believe how hot and fresh everything was. It was some of the best Mexican I've had. My husband enjoyed his chicken as well - it was tender and juicy, good char on the pineapple too. The portions were huge and we didn't eat it all. Good thing we didn't, the chef gave us complimentary dessert (ice cream because we're gluten free)! It was our first time and we'd love to go back. Everything looked and sounded great. Good margarita options, the flight was ordered by the table next to us! The overall cost for us two, although not the worst, but definitely not a cheap brunch was $110 with tip. Hot sauce was $2.50 on the side. A nice treat with friendly staff and good food, but not if you're looking to save some money.

The ambiance absolutely lived up to the hype. It's beautiful, upscale, and has a very romantic atmosphere that makes it feel special from the moment you walk in. We ordered the Maui tacos and the carnitas tacos. Both were delicious, generously portioned, and filling enough that I ended up bringing one taco home. The food was fresh and flavorful, although my taste buds lean more toward the bold Sonoran-style flavors I grew up enjoying. The salsa was sweeter than I expected, and the chips were made from tostada shells rather than traditional tortilla chips, which felt a little unusual and wasn't my favorite. At around $22 per taco plate, it felt a bit pricey for an early afternoon meal, but the portions were generous and we certainly didn't leave hungry. The highlight of the evening was the birthday surprise. Our waitress coordinated a birthday ice cream dessert complete with a sparkler and singing. She completely caught my husband off guard and helped make his birthday celebration extra memorable. For the atmosphere and special experience alone, Tulum is worth a visit.
