Credit where it's due--the cheeseburger was solid, the fries were hot, and the kid who ordered the fried pickle burger attacked it with the enthusiasm of a Labrador finding an unattended steak. The little one cleaned her plate too, so the tenders passed the toughest food critics in America. The salad, however, looked like someone whispered the word "vegetables" over a bowl of lettuce and tossed in a little shredded cheese for moral support. It wasn't bad--it just wasn't much of a salad. Then came the part that made me wonder if common sense had taken the night off. French fries arrived without ketchup. That's not an oversight; that's a misdemeanor in at least twelve Southern states. A burger without mayo is enough to have St. Peter squinting suspiciously at your résumé. But the real masterpiece? They sent a salad...and not one plastic fork. Now, I don't know who they think orders salads through DoorDash. Maybe they assume we're all carrying silverware in the glove compartment next to the jumper cables. Perhaps they envision us spearing lettuce with a pocketknife like Daniel Boone. The food itself was mostly good, and I'd order again. But somewhere between the kitchen and the delivery bag, somebody forgot that people generally need utensils to eat a salad and condiments to enjoy fries. Those little details are the difference between "pretty good" and "I'll be back tomorrow."

I ordered a cup of gumbo along with the shrimp and grits, and I thought I was dining down in New Orleans. It was some of the best gumbo I have eaten outside of Louisiana. I'm obviously just holding it to fast food/to go standards, but it still could've been better. Firstly off we just thought it was kind of odd. We got in and started ordering and the girl was new, and literally the only worker there. So the line was just a bit backed up because of that. However I would like to make it clear that she was VERY friendly, helpful and kind. She even let us know about a deal that we could get and saved us $5. I wish I had written the review there and gotten her name/checked in. For a Subway it was not the best nor worst sandwich I have had. But a lot of the extras (lettuce, tomatoes) didn't look all that fresh. The credit card machine was also messing up. But the girl was so very nice and apologetic about it messing up our transaction. She even called the manager because she wanted to give us a gift card as a consolation. Just seems like there could be some managerial issues. However, they definitely did something right when picking their staff!
