Well this is the 2nd time since 9/27/2018 (Pre-Covid) that I visited this Waffle House at 1801 W Baseline Rd, Guadalupe, AZ 85283 So I thought an update review was due. The restaurant was very clean and had three servers and a Chef. I really like the design of it as there were booths and a bar. This is a standard design of all Waffle Houses. I had my usual, a ham, cheese, onion, and mushroom omelette. It's great the way it's whipped in a mixer, then put into a pan with the ingredients. The hash browns were perfect and I don't want to forget the waffle-Yum! The coffee was really good also. The restaurant was really busy but service was nice and friendly. An honorable mention to the Chef who was super busy making the food. He did an outstanding job getting the orders out quickly and making sure it was perfect. This restaurant has a few older reviews that reflect some issues. Over the last year the majority are 5 Stars. Honestly, for what it is-this is a great restaurant! The business model and design of the restaurants are well thought out. The majority, as this one, is company owned. I was very surprised that omelettes were not on the menu. If you want something special, just ask. Of course I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Waffle House AND it's open 24 Hours daily!

Sai is AMAZING! Super friendly, positive and a definite asset to Waffle House. He had just worked 17 hours and was super friendly and attentive! Restaurant was super busy but once seated we had great service.

Open on thanksgiving. Friendly and very good service, eggs scrambled perfect, grits good, fast and fun! WH hats given. Coffee slow service is all.

Waffle House gets a bad rap from comedians like Jim Gaffigan, and it is quite obvious that Jimbo himself is a frequent frequenter of WH. Shaina at this location was an excellent server and the prices cannot be beat. The food at Waffle House is simple yet delicious. And I don't believe I have ever had a better waffle. The Waffle House waffle inscription is a very nice touch as well. Waffle House requires a few visits to get an idea of sizing. Pancakes and Waffles have gotten ridiculous in sizes thanks to the numerous mom and pop breakfast joints that make pancakes big enough to tarp a 747. Someone along the line thought this was a great idea, probably the same person who attends food eating contests. In reality both food competitive food eating and massive waffles and pancakes only perpetuate the fat American stereotype. It is repellent, glutinous, and flippant in the faces of those who have nothing to eat. Founded in 1955, Waffle House has 2,100 stores in 26 states, with an incomprehensible 263 restaurants in the Atlanta metro area. To put that into perspective, New York City has 197 Starbucks locations. Just get to any Waffle House you can. There's a reason why they're always busy. And bonus points for having a syrup jar and not rationing out syrup in small ramekins.

We were able to pick our table and get served right away. Servers were friendly and prompt. The place looks like any other Waffle House and the prices were affordable! Waffles were good and only cost $5! The kiddos loved their meals. We left pleasantly full!

There is no greater not more reliable dining experience quite like a Waffle House - and this one was NO exception. Despite being out of an item I wanted (the cherry syrup for my cola), the staff were amongst some if the most pleasant and delightful individuals to which I've ever had the privilege of knowing. And the food - quickly served and quality made. A SOLID 6/5 stars and it breaks my HEART that we don't have a Waffle House closer to home...

Best waffle House in Phoenix! I grew up in Alabama so waffle House is my home Paddy, the cook is outstanding and his attention to detail . Chris is absolutely the best server, host, and leader! Alfie that works the night shiftt was awesome last night when I ate dinner here... same meal, Paddy cooked great Ariana that night!

I had my first Waffle House experience at this location and could not be more delighted. This place is filled with charm and I'm a bit jealous there are non in my area. Likes - full transparency. You get to see the servers working on food. It's amazing that they are responsible for taking orders AND making food - clean environment. I have favorite restaurants back home that aren't as clean as this place - I love the decor and styling. Most chain places have dropped nice touches like tile on the wall. - great prices and filling food. I had the special plate that included grits. The waffles were nice and fluffy and the grits were perfectly cooked with a lovely buttery taste. The bacon was crisp but had chew. - Coke drinks (the Diet coke was very crisp) - our server was very friendly and mostly attentive (I probably would have asked for drink refills if she wasn't so busy). - the flatware is good too. I hate when you go to a place that has great food but the utensils are so rough! - perhaps the greatest green flag for a restaurant is the fact that my kids really enjoyed the food Dislikes - this isn't the best place to go if you have a very large group. You'll likely be split up.

My wife and I have wanted to try this place for a long time. Of course you've heard for years of this company in Atlanta which sits on every corner. Getting ready to get head back home. We were served by Jessica who was a new employee but she did great. Looking at the menu, I'm like why is everything raving over this place the menu is so limited LOL! I believe it is a bit overrated but I think it's a staple due the food is inexpensive and its cooked pretty good. They were jamming in to RnB and Hip-Hop I'm like alright now LOL! My wife and I ordered 2 scrambled eggs, hash browns and 1 large waffle. My wife's waffle was mixed with pecans, mine with blueberry. The food was good overall. Nothing special

The vibe was great.. I love hearing music and eating at the same time. Our server, Jess, was great The good was bomb They need to bring a waffle house to Vegas The only thing I didn't like was the washroom could have been cleaner

Solid waffle house for this side of the country. They had pretty good hashbrowns (though they could stand to be crispier). The diner was clean enough, and the staff was very nice. I went back a second time and was impressed that my server remembered me. She gave me extra topping for the hashbrowns and grilled my onions and jalapeños instead of just throwing them on raw. I want her to cook my hashbrowns every time

    All star special waffle

Between the two of them, they really sold the experience. As for the ambiance, it's pretty much what you'd expect from a classic American diner, but very comfortable. There was plenty of natural light, minimal noise, and the entire place was very clean.

I've tried them all over the country, from great to ghastly. I decided to work without a net and just order the chicken fried steak and eggs without asking if it was frozen or not. Lesson learned. I'll never understand why restaurants feel the need to be so lazy by serving frozen anything, let alone something as easy as this. AND have the nerve to charge $19 for it. Pitiful bordering on criminal. The 'steak' was embarrassingly small, the biscuit on the side was flat and blah, and the sausage gravy was just so-so. Eggs were good (thank you chickens). I really wanted to like this place, but it was bad enough that I didn't even bother finishing because of the lack of flavor and freshness. Very sad. UPDATE: It's now late afternoon and I've been in and out of the bathroom all day since eating here. NEVER AGAIN!!!

There are places you eat at, and places that stitch themselves into your personal geography…read more Harlow's Cafe is the latter--and if you look closely while you're sipping your coffee, you can see the layers. My first visit to Harlow's was back in 1993--when Tempe still felt like a college town with rough edges and a pulse--this place went by another name: Mae West. The name change? That's a story best told over coffee and eggs, which is exactly how all good stories should be told. What never changed was the vibe: a room that quietly collected stories. You see it on the walls--old Hollywood glamour nodding to Mae West the actress, winking at you from another era, reminding you that Tempe once flirted with style and danger before developers discovered spreadsheets. And then there's the music. In the '90s and early 2000s, when the Tempe music scene was punching way above its weight, this place was part diner, part unofficial green room. Bands didn't just eat here--they held court. You'd find members of Gin Blossoms, The Refreshments, and a rotating cast of local music heroes sliding into booths, fueling up. No velvet ropes. No backstage passes. Just eggs, coffee, and the quiet understanding that everyone in the room was part of the same scene. You still feel it. The memorabilia isn't curated--it's accumulated. Earned. Like scars on a boxer. And through all of it--name changes, real estate pressure, ASU's corporate gravity well--Harlow's endured. We talked with the owners, John and Kimberly, about how Tempe's mom-and-pop joints have been steadily squeezed out by institutional money and chain logic. Harlow's survived not by scaling, but by belonging. Locals. Students. Musicians. Families. Same door, same welcome. You come here for chorizo and eggs that understand their purpose in life. For Belgian waffles that don't need reinvention. For breakfast that refuses to be ironic. But you stay because places like this are rare now--rooms where culture happened accidentally, not because someone branded it that way. Harlow's Cafe isn't just a great breakfast spot. It's a time capsule that still feeds you. A small, stubborn act of resistance. And proof that if you do the simple things right--and treat people like they matter--you just might outlast the wrecking ball.

He mentioned a pickle martini, which I ordered at lunch and was very good. My wife ordered the welcome burger and enjoyed it except for them getting the toppings wrong. Our granddaughter really liked her mac and cheese and there was a generous serving of sliced fruit. And my Jose Burger had just enough spice and was very tasty. That what's the good. So we stopped here for lunch on a Friday about 12:30 with our 3-year-old granddaughter. Our initial server barely said two words to us and we felt like we were an imposition. When we ordered my wife asked did they have Pepsi or Coke products he said we have bottles and cans of everything, so she ordered a Coke. It was Mexican Coke which is fine, but $5, and it wasn't until we noticed other people had cans of regular Coke and realized he did not give us a choice. When we ordered our burgers, again he barely said two words and did not ask us how we wanted them cooked even though the menu says cook to order. When we got them they were very rare, see the picture, which we're okay with although we would have ordered them a little more done. My wife said no onions on hers, and of course there was onions on her berger. Later we were served by a waitress who was much more friendly and we realize was probably just not there yet when we sat down, so the initial waiter didn't really care what we thought since we weren't going to be his customers at the end. So sadly what could have been a very pleasant lunch was spoiled by the initial waiter, even though the food was good we may not be back.
