$6 Breakfast Meal with Coffee +$2.6

Good food, quick service all for less than $10! What a deal in a convenient spot off the expressway in Hagerstown. Props to a friendly staff!

This is how I roll: two eggs over easy with hashbrowns scattered!

Now watch me whip...watch me Nay-Nay. (Okay!) Now watch me whip, whip...watch me Nay-Nay Sorry. Just had to get that out of my system, as that song was immediately stuck in my head after meeting my server for the day (see pic below). Aah...Waffle House, how I've missed you! You're like the distant redneck cousin of Denny's that I never asked for; but SO grateful I got! This place may often be referred to as "the grease spoon kitchen", but it really depends on what you look for in a breakfast that day. I can tell you this: you can order your food pretty much any way that you like and you can see just about everything that's being prepared in the kitchen. Very rarely have I ever been disappointed in a Waffle House. Unfortunately, you basically have to live in the South (closer to the East coast) to find one. And sometimes Oklahoma as well. One thing I found intriguing about this location: they are literally located a mere 10 feet away from a Cracker Barrel. Seriously, I could spit across the parking lot. That's gotta be weird, right? I mean...the element of laborious competition via famous chains alone, not to mention the internal debate a patron has.. "Should I go for the greasy spoon bumpkin redneck breakfast...or the old timer country style breakfast?" Oh...the possibilities. But...I digress. I can't really say enough good things about this place, especially since they're a chain establishment and are almost all pretty much the same. So i'm just gonna end this review with 4 artery clogging greasy spoons out of 5.

Super friendly staff and the food was pretty dang good at a ridiculously affordable price! We probably could have ordered one plate between the two of us (it was a healthy portion size). My only complaint was that the bacon was a little too crispy, but overall this was a solid breakfast. This was also my first time ever eating at a Waffle House! I'm satisfied.

    Awesome well done hash browns

Standard Waffle House flair and style. No frills, just waffles, bacon and strong coffee. This establishment was clean, had fast service, and was easy to find seating in (even during a lunch rush). I'd go back.

We decided to stop here on our way home from West Virginia. We were all very hungry and we love the…read moreoffers of Cracker Barrel. We arrived expecting a wait time, we were pleasantly surprised there wasn't any. We were seated almost immediately upon entering a rarity for most locations. The lady who seated us was very nice and had just returned from maternity leave (congratulations ) once we were seated we were enthusiastically greeted by our very nice server Taylor. She was extremely patient as people in our group decided on drinks, food and choosing their options of sides. Two of our group had never been to Cracker Barrel so we tried to give them good recommendations. They decided on steak against our advice, while everyone else got what this place is known for, BREAKFAST! Some enjoyed pancakes, French Toast, eggs, bacon, hash casserole, spiced apples. I got bacon and the two aforementioned sides with lunch chicken tenders with a sweet spicy kick sauce and fries (wanted to try something different from my usual) they also quickly corrected me missing one of the sides I ordered bringing it out seconds later, that was impressive! They also offered a few $6 to-go options so I recommend to French Toast Bake to my buddy who got steak as he wanted breakfast food too (overwhelmed by all the options at first because everything looks great to a first-timer) everything went smooth and Taylor was attentive and brought out dishes with the speed and accuracy of a Magician truly, food just appeared! Thank you very much for adding that much more to our special visit. No visit is complete without visiting the great store inside filled with some of the best snacks and items. You can also have a seat in a rocking chair and play checkers which we did for a bit before hitting the road again ending our trip for the weekend heading back to our side of Maryland. Food 5 outta 5 - hot and fresh arrived quickly Service 6 outta 5 - seated quickly and served wonderfully Atmosphere - 5 outta 5 - lively but not too crowded and very helpful staff everything on points Cleanliness - 5 outta 5 - plates and utensils clean as well as bathroom stalls and such. Overall rating for this visit 5 outta 5 SupaFlyITGuy approved but I have come to expect nothing less from Cracker Barrel and they meet or exceed my expectations every time. The pricing also always puts a smile on my face value for money wise I feel spoiled here as I get a lot of food and a drink for a fraction of what I'm used to spending elsewhere often for food that is mid at best.

Man, I don't like to not leave a good review for Cracker Barrel, but this wasn't the best meal I've…read morehad. First off, see picture - the chicken and dumplings were watery - they should have had an almost gravy-like consistency. Usually you get nice big chunks of chicken it it, but in this case it was more like ground-pieces of chicken were scattered around in the dish. The flavor was not bad though. The grits didn't have the usual creamy consistency; I tasted lumpy (and occasionally crunchy) pieces in it. And the piece of cornbread was too sweet. On the plus side, the greens were very good, and the server remembered to bring vinegar along with them (she was great by the way, and my food came out very fast). So not all bad, just make sure the chicken and dumplings are done right next time.
