So Christmas eve needed somewhere to eat lunch. Drove around and decided House of the Waffle was going to be it. I got the WF special comes with 2 eggs grits toast and bacon and a waffle. They lady forgot my waffle but made sure to bring it at the end. Food was hot and fresh. When your in the mod for comfort food this is a god place to go. Waitress was nice and friendly. Worst service ever!!!! I ordered from the online menu and waited 15mins before making the 5 min drive from my house. I arrived and inquired about the amount of time it would take to complete my online order. I was given a 10-15 minute window and proceeded to wait. After nearly 25 minutes I inquired again and came in some pretty pissed off attitudes as if I didn't have the right to ask. I finally got my food which was short, the side of bacon and it was gross. My eggs were over cooked and the hash browns were under cooked to the degree that my wife had to finish cooking them. Needless to say we're not going back. This location is far better than the other one located a few miles up the highway ( crazy huh?). Not sure why they have two so close, but they do. We entered and was immediately greeted by all the employees and told to seat anywhere we liked. Our waitress was at our table promptly and took our drink orders. We ordered and our the chef cooked our food which was served piping up! Whoohoo! No cold food here! I enjoyed a BLT with Egg which I enjoyed something on the lighter side. One thing I would recommend to others if you are not a fan of butter on your toast please advise your waiter/waitress that you want it Naked! Yeah I know right be cautious when you say that though That's what they call toast without butter naked ha! I don't fancy butter on my toast as it just makes bread soggy! The chef came over to our booth and checked to see if we were enjoying our food and of course we were, I thought that was going above and beyond and I appreciated that extra attention to customer service. I also enjoyed some of their Waffle House coffee which is pretty good not bitter like most places and stale. The over all visit was a pleasant experience and well enjoyed. Don't let the long lines scare you away! The Waffle House's expertly trained staff cook and serve faster than anywhere else, thus allowing for a quick cycling of customers through the restaurant. Even if their signature dish is waffles and hash browns, it's done up in a way that no one else can do. And the prices are hard to beat. Love their waffles. Their service can be spotty at times, where you have to remind your waiter or waitress that your waffle has not made it to the table. This might only be during the breakfast rush. The service here was so poor it was crazy. Never in my life have I ever been treated so disrespectfully. I will not be going to this Waffle House ever again. I ordered my hash browns smothered covered and chunked. There were no onions on it, when asked about it I was told I just couldn't taste them, and still charged for them. We literally waited there for more than 15 minutes and nobody served us. As soon as they seen a white couple come in, they immediately served them. Accommodated my family of 12 people including 2 little ones. The food was about the same as all the other locations I have been to. But, I just need to commend the cook. This young man was busting his butt to keep up with all the orders while 6 servers along with a manager were just standing around barking at him and not trying to help at all. I am working a 12 hour overnight shift, 6 pm-6 am. It was 3:30 am and I was hungry and decided to get something from Waffle House. I've never been to this location and when I got there, there was nobody there. I understand it was 3:30 in the morning, but where I'm from, there's business at the Waffle House all through the night. I was a little weary of that. Then, there was a weird smell inside the store. On the menu for the smothered hash browns (grilled onions) it says the onions are grilled. I ordered my hash browns smothered and covered (with grilled onions and chz). The onions were not grilled. They were raw. It was not what I was expecting for grilled onions. The food was mediocre. It was not that bad, but as soon as I was finished eating, no more than 10 minutes later, my stomach started hurting super bad and I had to run straight to the restroom!!! My tummy was hurt bad!!!!!! This makes me feel like the store is not clean like it should be or the food has not been handled according to food safety guidelines. I previously worked in food service for many years and unclean environments will cause you to be sick!! The only other place in town (where I saw roaches crawling around the restaurant) that I cannot eat at due to uncleanliness is the Little Caesars on Western Blvd. I have the same issue with them. Every time I eat there, my stomach gets SOOO sick. And I have seen roaches crawling around in there. The little bitty roaches that are a sign of an infestation. Not the big ones that just come in from outside. I feel like I got sick from the Waffle House for the same reason that I get sick from Little Caesars!! I know its not the pizza that upsets my stomach because every time I eat at Pizza Hut or Domino's I don't have any problems with my stomach!!! UGGHHH!!! only because giving no stars was not an option! I don't review places that I go and given them a bad rating to mean. I rate them in case decent people and families are trying to make a informed decision. the food was mediocre at best but after a late night out with friends, there aren't many choices and we decided to give this Waffle House a try because it was close. the restaurant was not busy at all. I should have known we made the wrong choice when FIVE roaches ran along the edge of the building into the shrubs as we walked in. it just looked like a run down, cheap dive restaurant trying to survive on Route 66 in the day. behind the counter there were 15 loaves of bread I'm guessing they use for guests but right next to that was a nasty trash can with stains and Lord knows whatever other kinds of 'juices and liquids' dried on the side. what drew my attention was the dozen or so live bugs crawling around the trash and on the loaves of bread. I knew at this point I should have just gotten up and left. bugs weren't big enough to be roaches and they didn't fly around yet too big to be ants. the floor behind the counter had standing water on it places and it just looked disgusting. would definitely drive the couple extra miles to go to the IHOP or Denny's. to be fair, the waitress was nice and she was fast but again there weren't many customers. the food tasted okay but after seeing the bugs who knows what else touched it. if you're set on the Waffle House, good luck but next time I'd rather get a bag of chips from a vending machine! read more

What a disappointing experience. They had empty tables available but they hadnt been cleaned off. So we sat down anyway and waited, and waited, and waited....and not even a "hello"! About 7 minutes later with still NO acknowledgment at all and not even able to put our arms on the table because it STILL hadnt been cleaned , we got up and left !!! This place is excellent! There was a weird smell when I first got into the building, but it's just the area location I do believe. The service was fantastic. Food was EXCELLENT. The staff helped me to find exactly what I wanted and they were so nice. I sat at the bar and watched the cook prepare my food! I loved it. Will definitely be coming back. The server, Emily, was even so nice to get me a to go cup without me asking. This is a very friendly environment with great food. Exactly what I was craving!!
