After about four visits here it is time to review. You will notice this little diner if you look…read morecarefully while driving down Airline and notice it is flanked on each side by a little gas station (Shell I believe) and a Casino. Parking is slight but if you get here around 6:15 a.m. in the mornings you should not have much of a problem. The semi elderly lady is very hard working and pretty speedy. I forgot her name but I'll go back and correct this later, you'll know her, she's about 60 with the body of a 30 year old but she is a diligent worker an asset to this place. HOWEVER, the cook that is in the back if you should have the unfortunate time to have her cook your breakfast is horrid. The last time I was here I was enjoying the Ribeye breakfast with a co-worker and without exaggerating it took an hour and some minutes for her to get the food out. This contributed to her coming out of the kitchen to take a phone order in which her duty was to stay in the kitchen and punch list the tickets placed in the back. My co worker and I ordered our steaks at 6:15 and did not get them until about 7:20. Yes, they were about 3/4 " thick ribeyes but you can tell she would get the tickets mixed up in the back and not go in order that she was given. The other times that I have had my meals cooked by her the food would be a little on the salty side. Biscuits and Gravy, hash browns, eggs you name it. The other cook that I've seen cook back there is a male guy that is very fast and I do not think I have had anything bad tasting or over done come from him. Thursday nights are steak nights. $14 and I hear it gets packed so Friday morning is the best time to get you a nice Ribeye steak breakfast with hash browns, eggs and toast for $15. The interior is nothing fancy, about 12 out dated tables, industrial thin carpeting and 1970's wood paneled walls. Come to think of it if you want a blast from the past circa 70's here is your place. There is a television here that you can view while you are waiting for your food. The restrooms down the halls are atrocious since it is shared with the next door gas station. The food here is pretty much good ol comfort food. I took pics of the menu's so you can get an idea of what is here. Best viewed on a screen bigger than 12" and not a smart phone.

I was not disappointed. The moment we pulled into the parking lot we were treated with vintage vw bugs. A very good omen. The menu is vast and it all sounded so wonderful. As we stood there pondering our choices I couldn't help but notice the cleanliness and the decide. But what instantly drew my attention was the food being handed out. No paper wrap. No styrofoam here. Real plates and real silverware. . But the mountain of mouth watering piping hot onion rings called my attention. The old hippy he decided on the lot o burger with fries. And I had the veal tenderloin with those onion rings. Of course we had to have two frosty mugs of the namesake. Frostop RootBeer. Now I am a patient person and I will wait for fresh hot food to be served. So I didn't notice the amount of time it took. But any wait at all would be well worth it. The food was delicious and took me back to my misspent youth. People I am telling you if you are looking for quality and quantity. This is the place for you. The cost was reasonable. The owners are friendly and patient. But the real reason to make the trip is the food. They are the leader in every category: cleanliness, ambience, quality, taste, customer service, and quirkiness. This place has been standing along time. I hope they stay around a whole lot longer. We will return.

It brought me back to when I was a kid when I tasted that nostalgic root beer. The onion rings were on point and so was the club. The kids did not leave a bite of their hamburgers, so it is safe to say they liked it and it was big enough for three teenage kids.

I arrived before she did and oh my goodness, I said underneath an air conditioner that was dripping so I moved and right when I sat down, she came in to join me. Everything was disgustingly greasy, the countertop, The salt and pepper shakers, and coffee sweeteners, everything was so greasy and gross, and had not been wiped down in FOREVER! Before we went, I read these reviews and I was so looking forward to dining there for breakfast. I love breakfast and sometimes even enjoy it at night. But this? Oh no my friend. All of you who think you're eating omelettes? That's not just eggs that's got something mixed in with it that makes it super thick.. And believe me when I tell you, it does not look healthy. I ordered a hamburger and fries and a side of onion rings to share with my friend because she loves them. Everything was so greasy, not seasoned. The french fries didn't even have salt and pepper. Everything was so gross, the beef patty on my hamburger was disgusting. My friend wanted her food boxed so I got mine boxed up as well and I threw it in the dumpster on the way home, you should as well.. Tasteless, disgusting food and there is no butter there. Expect movie theater or butter on everything you order, that should tell you everything you should know about this restaurant.

They staved off an eviction nearly a decade ago and have somehow managed to stick around for a total of nearly 7 decades. Dearman's is the last legit diner in the city. The interior is a trip back in time. The spacious dining room is complete with retro furniture, checkered floors, and old school artwork that feels like something out of the 1950s. The decor screams pure Americana and is one of the biggest draws for the many patrons that come through daily. My favorite part is their juicy burgers. Pair it with their crispy fries and their old school milkshakes, and one has a complete meal. The burgers are hearty, and the portions are substantial. They also have salads, other sandwiches (tuna is my go-to), and various options for loaded fries. The other awesome part are the prices. Minus the double cheeseburger, there are no items that exceed $10 on the entire menu. The staff is young and always enthusiastic, and they play a big part in making this place such a destination. It is group / kid-friendly, and an ideal lunch spot. Orders can be placed online, but I recommend eating in for the full experience.
