    Mystery meat aka hamburger steak.

What the mystery meat is this? I ordered the hamburger steak something I've ordered before. It's always been frozen patty and instant mashed potatoes. Im fine with this but this time the "Hamburg" if that's what it was reminded me of McDonald's burger. The mashed potatoes had zero flavor. Blah. Blah blah.

First time in Louisiana, New Orleans. This cute little spot came highly recommended from my partner's mom so here we are. The diner is 60's themed: cozy, quaint, retro ambiance. Menu offers a variety of breakfast items, sandwiches, and burgers. I got the Seafood Omelet and oh my gods is this thing MASSIVE, and packed with flavors! It had fried shrimp, mushrooms and crayfish meat in a gray gravy Julie, I choose hash browns and biscuits for my side (Waitress recommended the biscuit) those are the best biscuits I ever had! Highly recommend, we don't get food like this in the desert so this was such a joy to experience, Thank you so much!

Definitely worth trying out, small little place.. but had the diner feel. Staff was friendly, our waitress was attentive. Nothing fancy about the place.. but let's chat about the food.. I had the cheesesteak and fries my boyfriend had the fried catfish dinner with frys and green beans. My cheesesteak was cooked perfectly, great flavor and the frys were fresh with a good taste. His Catfish was very good according to him (I don't eat ugly fish lol) and he also complimented the frys. He didn't want the green beans so I tasted them and ended up eating the entire bowl. It was loaded with some sort of kilbasa sausage and bacon.. yum! Sorry I only grabbed a pic of my meal because he dove into his before I could get my camera out.. We will definitely go back, we both love these kind of places when the food is amazing and the price doesn't break the bank.

Excellent service with a filling breakfast. I ordered French toast and couldn't eat the entire meal. Food was hot and prepared quickly. Just what I needed after a long night shift.

We tried Dot's back in 2019 when we were visiting the area with friends and loved it. We returned a few days ago hoping to recapture the experience and it was even better! We love cafe's, bistros and coffee shops. Only rarely do we go to chain restaurants, but Dot's is the exception to that rule. Breakfast - or rather brunch - late breakfast (just before lunch) is our favorite meal of the day. Dot's is a mecca for brunch. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a lively mid-century Ma-Pa establishment. It's clean, bright and the servers were proud of the restaurant and presented themselves well. If you get tired of throwing your money away on overpriced, mediocre food, drop in to Dot's and have a professionally made meal without a lot of hoopla.

Do stop in. Beignet Sticks are a YES. You may even want to share them. Vibe is quiet in the evening and the staff attentive. Coffee was refilled cheerfully and with frequency That being said, loud talkers can appear. And then the atmosphere changes. We were here to meet up with a local friend. This chain was well know and a delight. Dot's would be fun to try for breakfast. Glad for friendly places like this as you drive into NOLA or if you need a NOLA break.

I am a big fan of the schooner salad, which I get without ham. They have baked potatoes as big as your head that are always cooked to fluffy perfection. Unfortunately, the customer service was a completely different experience. When I walked in and said I was there to pick up an order, the man and woman behind the bar looked at me strangely, whispered to each other, and then asked for my name. After confirming it, the gentleman only told me the total. No greeting, no smile, and I wasn't asked if I wanted to order a drink or anything else. When the woman handed me my food, I asked if I could have some ketchup. She responded with an attitude, saying, "There's some in the bag." I thanked her and left. When I got back to my work van, I opened the bag and found there was only one packet of ketchup. The food was excellent, but the service left me feeling very unwelcome. Based on how I was treated, I couldn't help but feel like I was being judged differently because of my ethnicity. I can't say for certain that was the reason, but that's honestly how the interaction made me feel. I hope management takes customer service seriously because everyone deserves to feel welcomed and treated with respect.

I've been coming here for about 6 or 7 years now, and they are easily in my top three. The vibe? Dive bar, laid back, no fuss... but the FOOD? Don't sleep on it. Their menu is solid and I still haven't made it through everything yet. I've had the wings, which we actually got this visit but ate them so fast we didn't even get a picture. That should tell you enough right there. I've had the pizza, and my husband usually goes for a burger. Never any complaints. They've got plenty on tap and the drinks hit too. I love a good Electric Lemonade, but this time I kept it simple with an Angry Orchard. Now let's talk about what keeps me coming back... The steak. We got our old faithful, one of their signature steaks, the 10oz petite ribeye. This is exactly what made me fall in love with Turtle Bay in the first place. Normally it's around $13.95, comes with a twice stuffed potato and a slice of garlic bread. A DEAL. This time it was a little higher, but still under $15, which honestly is still more than fair with how prices are these days. And when I say it be hitting... it be hitting. Only reason this visit didn't get a full 5 stars? My steak was cooked a little over my liking. I usually go for medium, and this one leaned more done than I prefer. Not horrible, just not my usual perfection. But everything else? Still solid. The staff is always nice, always welcoming. I've never had a bad experience with them, and that matters. And I already know I'm coming back because I keep hearing the crawfish is FIRE. Yeah... I need to see that for myself. This is my happy place. Open 24/7, consistent, affordable, and just a real gem in the French Quarter. The Bay is Babe. Period.

We ordered the Cochon Muffaletta, which was huge, packed with flavor, and definitely a must-try. The mac & cheese is an absolute MUST--creamy, cheesy, rich, and easily one of my favorite things we ordered. The beer was great too and paired perfectly with the food. I cook a lot of both at home--I'm someone who is dedicated enough to my Louisiana cooking to order Steen's syrup from Louisiana to my Florida doorstep even though Florida makes perfectly good cane syrup in its own right. (Side note: any New Orleans restaurant you venture to serving pain perdu with maple syrup and not Steen's--ask what the hell they're even doing.) Like most worthwhile restaurants, the menu here changes up. The specials as well as their famous sandwiches seem the way to go and I got the fried shrimp with bread and butter pickles. Exceptional--a small amount, it may have even been a starter but regardless was perfect for me. The sandwiches other diners had on their plates were large and looked delicious just glancing around at other tables. Everything comes up fast and the atmosphere is . . . just ideally New Orleans. It feels all the way "working CBD lunch" yet unhurried, a reflection of Cochon's greatness but scaled down and with utterly no pretense. There's simply a real sense of both care and expertise in everything done here no matter how simple or complex. Beyond all else, they're doing what they love here with no scaling back or dressing up to make it anything else. A winner through and through.
