This is insulting. I ordered 2 eggs over medium, white toast, sausage and grits. My hubby assumed Waffle House would get this right . Wrong! And he didn't find out until he was home. These items were paid for. So I tried to call and ask for compensation. However Waffle House no longer taking phone in orders. And so there is no choice but to go back. Most think all Waffle Houses are the same. Close but not quite. The staff make a difference. Wife and I came through this Waffle House about 3 pm on a Monday and the food was top notch and the service was excellent. There were few people here so it was nice and quiet too. I dunno what it is about Waffle House scrambled eggs with cheese, but they're always delicious. This WH is cleaner than most and it was actually pretty quiet for a Sunday morning at 8am. Food was swift, as usual, and the place isn't nearly as cold as the other WH I've been to. Shana is an excellent server. Kind temperament, will check on you but not bug you, and she even took a look at my waffle when she was delivering it, didn't approve, and voluntarily took it back so they could make me another one. Service was friendly & attentive. We loved the waffles with their cute little waffle house stamp & buttery taste but otherwise the rest of the food was okay. I'm glad I tried grits elsewhere because otherwise I would have said that I just don't like them ( they may have been instant). I ordered over medium eggs twice because they came to me both times with the whites uncooked. Waffle house felt like a Denny's in choices and price but I liked Denny's quality better. 1st time I've ever been to a Waffle House. Ordered a Pecan WAFFLE w/ a side of sausage. Well, I've had better waffles, was not very impressed. Can't even give this location "8950" 1 star. Walked in after trying to find an open restaurant off the highway and not one employee greeted us. The employee behind the counter continued to dig in the floor drain to figure out why it was clogged and didn't even wash his hands. As a long term customer of Waffle House, I don't know what is going on here. Cook doesn't have anything covering his hair. Waiter is wearing a hoodie with a super negative attitude. Dishes are piled high, full strips of bacon and slices of cheese on the floor in front of the booths. Staff is not wearing name tags. Afterward, I placed my to-go order knowing it would be a short waiting time due to placing my order first before five other people put their orders after mine. Ten minutes turned into 20 minutes, 20 minutes turned into 30 minutes. Waffle House will always be my go to place for breakfast galore! Ever since I was introduced to one of this restaurants' franchise in Georgia, I just can't stop raving and wanting to eat there. A lot of people get upset when I say this, telling me there's a place that's better (i.e. Cracker Barrel, huddle house, ihop/ihob... etc) that it's essentially grease I'm eating. But this place always gets my money more for what it could from other places. Plus, their service is quick. And those waffles are really good. Don't expect no fancy fixin's tho. This is the first time I've been to a "Waffle House". I always thought they looked a bit rum down. So I get there and the place is packed. As I stand waiting a waitress approaches me and mentions that there are seats art the counter around the corner. I say that I would rather wait for a normal height chair (counter chairs tend to be uncomfortable) and she told me there are some around the corner that face a counter. Ok. Good. I look around the corner and have a seat. Basic menu, fine, as expected. I order a basic over easy breakfast which was delivered quickly and cooked correctly.. Good basic breakfast for on the go. The reason I am giving a low rating for this location is the service. The cook and one of the waitresses we're great. The food was great. When we walked in there was an older waitress there who apparently has issues with people of color named Jackie. She never took our order. We did not get served until another waitress came in. It was rather late after 10, so Waffle House wasn't packed at all. We're a group of 7. The booths there weren't very big, so we had to do four on one table and two on another (one of our members was still coming in to AL). Our waitress was SO nice. She looked about my age, skinny (super jelly), tattoos, piercings, and an AWESOME haircut (I wish I could rock those kinds of cuts). I'm pretty sure she knew we weren't from AL. She was patient with us when we initially didn't know what we wanted to order. Once we got our food. I was in HEAVEN. Everything on their menu (even burgers) comes with hash browns. I was skeptical because I've never really ate good hash browns before. They were always too soft for me. The ones we got were delicious. The hash brown, how would you say, patty(?) was on the thinner side and the potatoes were crisp on the outside. YUM! My friend and I both ordered the Bacon Egg Cheese Texas Melts with hash browns. The melts were even more amazing. I don't know if the chef we had was just great or because we were the only ones there, but OMG the food was so good. AND it was SOOOOO cheap. Our whole meal was under $6. The food was so good and our waitress was so nice we ended up leaving a really hefty tip. Waffle House is not my favorite place to visit because of the tiny space and I prefer not watching how my meals are prepared. However, I do enjoy my food most of the time when I'm here. I always get the All-Star Special for breakfast. Sometimes the waffle turns out good, sometimes it doesn't. It depends on who makes it, I guess. Yesterday I had dinner at WH for the first time and decided to order something different. I got the pork chop dinner, which I liked. I was pretty full by the time I finished everything on the plate. Didn't care for the salad though... I didn't even know WH served salad. My hashbrown was cooked the way I liked: crispy top!
