First time eating at a waffle house. It was very good. The waitresses were friendly and prompt with orders. I have the cheese scrambled eggs with raisins toast hash browns with bacon. It was great tasting. Husband had Super Star breakfast. He said the grits were the best he has had in a long time. It came with the waffle house waffle as well as eggs and hash browns. 12.28.24 We're visiting Family in New Port Richey FL. It was late and we were hungry. Waffle House immediately came to mind. I ordered online and drive to pick it up. They were less than 2 miles away. When I arrived, I was greeted with a warm Hello. The restaurant was clean and they had quite a few customers. Big Props!!! My order was ready. I loooovvvveeee Waffle House and have been to multiple ones across the country. This one in New Port Richey always lives up to the Waffle House reputation. They were ready for a busy day. The cute guy at the door was so nice greeting us and telling us of an approximate wait. He was hustling cleaning off tables .... really impressive, i made sure to tip him when we left . Nothing better than to be recognized for a job well done when it's unexpected! There were 4 cooks and maybe he was a manager or lead cook that was calling the orders to the cooks, he had everything under control and had everything flowing. This Monday morning, Mary is our waitress. Our cook this morning was quick without being hurried. We asked for chewy bacon - it was. Perfect! The eggs were not over cooked (thank goodness), and Husband's waffle was just right. I like coming here for the grits, instead of hash browns, but husband likes their hash browns more. Have been a long time patron of Waffle House and have always had great experiences, food, service and memories. My son, who is 20 had never eaten at a Waffle House, despite the fact that as an infant and a toddler we would stop and eat at Waffle Houses when traversing the interstates to visit family. We rectified that yesterday when we went early Sunday morning to the Waffle Hose near our home. We were created with smiles and positive hellos from everyone inside and sat right up front so he could see the food prep and all the goings on. The place was spotless and clean. No sticky tables, seats or menus. As a first time visitor they provided him with an official Waffle House paper hat which he wore proudly. When I asked for dark roast coffee, our waitress quickly made me a fresh pot. Our food (Waffle, pecan Waffle, over medium eggs, hash browns, bacon, toast) was at our table in no time and all perfectly cooked. The staff was very attentive and polite and service excellent. I am a Waffle House connoisseur, this has been a staple in my life since college oh so many years ago. If you can't think of anything to eat Brinner is always a winner. That's right is said "Brinner", breakfast for dinner. I typically get some eggs with cheese, grits, hash browns covered, smothered, and capped, toast with the grape jelly on the side. Stopped into Waffle House after a work out with the beau because it was Late in the evening and they're a great place to get protein powered meals. The Beau and I like doing that after we work out. We both made sure to get our selves breakfast meals and sat at the end of the counter so we could talk quietly. Our waitress was quite friendly and the food came up quickly. I even did a UYE for some of us to earn our breakfast badges, at that location. This waffle house is older, so it wasn't sparkling clean. Time stops for nothing. Of course being a chain establishment, the menu was consistent in options & prices that I was familiar with. It was a good meal, but wasn't feeling the love. Bacon not fully rendered, for that nice crispy bacon, we all love. Toast was blonde & not tan & eggs were a bit runny. The scattered hashbrowns, had good onion ratio & were wll cooked, being a bit brown & crispy in areas. I seldom have bacon, even though I love it, so my bacon affair was tarnished. Certainly not the best Waffle house spirit or food, but a passable breakfast. Service was fast & abrupt. What's a girl to do?
