I ordered the cheese steak bowl with, cheese, jalapeños, and chili and a sweet tea. It was all really good but a lot of food. He did eat all of his plate though. This is one of my go-to spots--when they have the right servers and cooks, it's always a good experience. The food today was fresh and delicious, and the service was okay. Music is most times playing. They let customers pay to play whatever they want, so the playlist can be all over the place and takes away from the atmosphere a bit. I have mixed emotions about some of the service I get from this location, sometimes it's great and others time I regret coming. All depends on the server and who's cooking when I visit. Food is fresh most of the time but not always, I recall getting some old grits and semi cold coffee one time. Let's get down to the nitty-gritty: Location: Great! It was just a few minutes away from where Mom and I were staying near DFW Airport. Easy to see from the road and easy to get to. Convenient to drop off our rental car when we were done and ready to head to the airport. Service: Very good. We sat and were greeted almost immediately. Order was taken quickly and drinks were brought to us within a few minutes. Bathrooms: Clean and well stocked. Food: Unfortunately, this is where the star is lost. It was good, maybe a four out of five, whereas normally, my Waffle House experience is always a five plus. Mom ordered a burger only and she finished more than usual, so I know they did a good job with that. I ordered a burger and hash browns. The hash browns seemed a little different - seemed like the potatoes weren't cut quite as thickly as from years ago. The burger was good, but not amazing like I remember. I presume she was the manager because the person who answered gave the phone to her when he realized I was pissed! I wish I had asked for her name. She was very understanding, politely asked my if I was sure I had called the right store, and before I hung up made sure that I knew that if I didn't get in touch with the site tonight (which I didn't) that I could call in the morning and the manager would be there. Never been to a Waffle House before, and heard mixed reviews, but after having gone this morning I can say at least at this location, it is superb. The staff were super welcoming and friendly, and genuine. I decided to try their Bacon Egg and Cheese hashbrown bowl, and it was only $9.50. That on top of a cup of coffee, it hit the spot. Waffle House is what it's supposed to be: fast, cheap, 24/7 food with a cup of coffee and a hearty dose of Americana. Until I turned 30 I don't think I ever experienced one before 1 am. Now it's a late Sunday breakfast stop with my kid. Either way, you can't go wrong with a triple order of hash browns scattered, smothered, covered, chunked, and diced. The staff at this particular Waffle House is super nice. They are friendly, even when my 5 yo is explaining his birthday guest list in full detail or asking for a third refill of OJ. They always make sure we are well looked after and full. On a related note: TIP YOUR WAFFLE HOUSE SERVER WELL. These people work insane hours, on their feet, usually super busy, and deal with a huge amount of bullshit. And somehow they still manage to be kind and friendly and care how you like your eggs. Your food probably cost less than a drive thru, there was more if it, and at full service. Tip the damn wait staff more than 20%. These people seriously deserve it. read more

Went into this Waffle House because it was close to the airport. When I got in there was just one mother costumer there. Nice for a Waffle House. It seemed like I got there between a shift change as there was a few employees sitting at the other end of the place. I ordered and the server brought me silverware that had food on it. WTF!!!??? Come on. I asked the server if he could get me clean silverware. The server looked at my fork and brought me a clean one. I hope at least. The knife that was there was clearly a used knife with egg still on the end. Well I will not be using that. The food came out nice and hot. Everything was great!! The only issue here is the cleanliness of the silverware and the rest of the place. I did not see anyone cleaning just sitting around. Maybe instead of relaxing and waiting for more customers they should concentrate on how to properly clean utensils and the rest of the place. 1 star for cleanliness.
