I mean the three of us split it and still had leftovers. The plate came loaded with hash browns, a generous stack of bacon, and eggs. My daughter and I split the meat, and we built a little custom plate for my granddaughter with bacon, hash browns, and pancakes since she's a picky eater... and even she was happy, which says a lot. The food overall was really good. The eggs were a little runny for my taste, but not enough to knock the experience. Everything else hit. But let's be honest... Heather made the whole visit. Since my last visit, the restaurant added surcharges, none clearly disclosed. I ordered the Chili N Cheese Omelette. When asked if I wanted toast, pancakes or an English muffin, my waitress never mentioned the 50-cent surcharge on the English muffin. None of the menus provided mentioned the 4% credit card surcharge. It was only until I got the check were these surcharges listed. The chili was not suitable for an omelette topping due to the excessive amount of liquid. That also affected its flavor. Also, segments of the omelette were very thin. The combination made the omelette unsuitably soggy. I've lived in lewisville for about 11 years. I've seen this place many times and never stopped or it was closed by the time I got up. On 11/11/25 was the first time I had decided to stop before going to the gym. I walked in and there was only 1 family eating and it appeared to be 3 staff members the waitress, a waiter and possibly the cook in the back. Waitress told take a seat where ever and I went and sat at a table. She walked over handed me a menu a I looked it over at first glance it was very simple. I told her yea I would take the short haul because I was going to the gym after. The food came pretty quick cause no one was in the restaurant. I saw her walking over to me with 2 plates and one had what I can only explain was a tire made of bread! Got my short haul which consisted of 2 eggs however you want I got them sunny side up and your choice of meat I decided on ham. My only complaint was that it appeared the eggs may have been a little over cooked on the bottom cause they were hard to cut but no biggie and my other complaint was the ham was extremely small I was thinking I would get a little more than 2 little squares. Any ways to move on to the tire of pancake it had a huge glob of butter on it! It was winning already! I smeared the butter on it and asked for sugar free syrup at that point why even ask for sugar free with all the carbs I was gonna stuff in my face!!!!. It was good and fluffy. Waitress was a sweet heart came by and kept asking me if I need anything and always referred to me as sweety, hun, or sweetheart. Which I have no problem with. A family restaurant with amazing backstory of serving in US military in The Philippines when Imperial Japan invaded at start of World War 2. This country-style menu, with some Tex-Mex favorites, has more hop than Ihop! In a nice stripmall along Round Grove, west of State Hwy 121, in Lewisville, TX, plenty of free parking. This was day before Easter Sunday, and Mother Nature sent an ice cold rain storm from the north. It was a crazy drive to get to this side of the DFW metroplex. When I drove by Jackie's, it was full of people, so I looked up reviews, then put it on my "things to do" while in Flower Mound area. (Flow-Mo) Not too big, not too small, nice country store kind of setting. About 80% of seats were taken. My waitress was fantastic, had plenty of charm, and knew her business! While all the Tex-Mex items looked amazing, especially the fajitas dishes, I usually pick technical dishes on my first visits to eateries. It was my first time there, and the service alone made me want to come back. So my wife saw a preview of this restaurant on Texas Today last week. Even though it is a 20 mile drive from the house, we made the trek. The service was great thanks to Heather our server. That was the end of it. They didn't have coffee (no fault of the restaurant), no water. There was a musky odor when we walked in, but we got seated immediately. My wife ordered the pancake and it was the size of the plate and she enjoyed it. Me on the other hand ordered the corned beef hash, 2 eggs over-easy, and hash browns. The hash browns were burnt, the corned beef hash was cool , and the eggs were not even over-easy as they gushed water when I cut into then, and to top it off the toast was cold to where the butter couldn't melt. Our first time dining at Jackie's. I heard about this restaurant from a tiktok video. Restaurant had the feel of an establishment that had been there for years where regulars are known by name. Small and quaint feel to it. Extra large coffee mugs. Staff was very welcoming when we arrived. Very friendly. Heather was great. I had the shortstack, bacon and hash browns. GF had 1 pancake, sausage link and scrambled eggs. They do offer a 5 pancake challange. Eat all 5 in 30 minutes its free (no one has done it). PAncakes are the size of dinner plates and about 1/2 inch thick. They were fluffy, definitely need more than 1 thing of butter and plenty of syrup. The sausage link and eggs were over cooked (did not say anything as we were really there to try the pancakes. I was only able to finish 1 pancake. What a GREAT place for breakfast!!! The model for how restaurants and ANY customer-oriented business should be. This place is really what I wish every restaurant on the planet was like. We were immediately greeted by a genuinely friendly Heather, who got us seated, and then immediately got us huge cups of great coffee. The menu is a good mix of traditional and variations-on-traditional breakfast meals. Be warned...the portions are GINORMOUS! The biscuit in my daughter's biscuit and gravy (biscuit...singular) was a bit bigger than a softball. My son's cinnamon roll french toast had four large slices of toast. My wife's strawberry blintz took up a large plate and had a full cup of strawberries. My brother's country breakfast included four strips of bacon, and came with seven. You get the idea. Big portions, so come hungry! And, be prepared to be full. We finished eating at 11, and none of us was hungry again until dinner. All of the food was perfect. I asked for over-medium eggs. They came over medium. The hash browns were crisp on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. The sausage gravy didn't break halfway through the meal, but didn't rely on a bunch of starch or stabilizers to keep it thick. Every component of every dish was perfectly cooked and plated. Heather was the model for what friendly, attentive service should be. She immediately greeted seated us. She made us feel welcome, always checked on coffee and warmed us up if we needed it. She let us customize dishes as needed, and our entire party's food was delivered quickly and at the same time. From "welcome" to check, it was exceptional, superb service. I really enjoy Jackie's. I haven't been back there since like 2010, friendly environment and servers are quick to attend to big groups. I also like that the chefs personally go out and deliver the food, if there is something wrong they take it right back. Let's get the bad over with, our server in particular was really really bad at taking the orders, we had to clarify what we had on our orders and they still came out wrong. Some of us had to wait on the order to get fixed while others in our group were eating. In the end I think she may have been new but I won't say any names, she was nice. Another thing I didn't really enjoy was the actual pancake. It was too grainy and kinda dry. I feel like I enjoyed it back then much more. The strawberries were good and so where the almonds. One last thing, was the restrooms. They were sort of messy and could have used a clean up. There was no soap on the mens and I feel like that's a must on an hourly checkup. Now for the good, I got the "build your own omelette" and it was delicious! I got it loaded with pretty much everything you can get and got the white cheese on top with avocado slices. The food is delicious! My fiancé and I came to Jackie's Ham and Eggs to celebrate his birthday on a Wednesday. I got the ham scrambled eggs ginormous biscuit. My fiancé got the gigantic pancakes. You can also request birthday pancakes. Everything we ate was so good! Unfortunately, I was only disappointed with the orange juice. I was really hoping that the orange juice was freshly squeezed. However, it tasted like the cheapest orange juice. Instead, I got a can of Sprite. Service provided by Summer was superb. A Survivor's Story In 1985, Josephine "Jackie" Shields and her Husband Bob Shields opened Ham- N - Eggs in Lewisville, Texas. Jackie's desire to open a restaurant came out of adversity she faced early in her life. In 1942, Japanese forces invaded Manilla, Philippines. Jackie at the time lived in Manilla as her father served as a high-ranking military officer. For three years, two months, and fourteen days of World War Il Jackie, her sister, and mother were held captive by Japanese forces. There Jackie and her family were starved and tortured among many other prisoners of war. "Putrid water, rice, and fish heads were all that we were fed. ", Jackie Said The internment camps in the Philippines produced some of the harshest conditions. Of those held captive in the Philippines, one-third of the 13,966 civilians and 39,700 soldiers whom were interned by the Japanese died before the war ended according, to Australian historian Gavan Daws. Of those many casualties was Jackie's father a survivor of the Batan death march who later died upon returning stateside of complications from malaria and other disease. "He stood 6 - foot - 4 but weighed only 86 pounds. You can imagine what a sight he was." Shields told. From those experiences Jackie vowed to never let anyone go hungry again! Deep in the heart of North Texas Ham-N- Eggs quickly became a popular spot to dine and developed a following among professional athletes. Ham-N-tggs has attracted the likes of Dallas Cowboy and Dallas Star greats like Troy Aikman, Mike Modano, Daryl Johnston, Mark Stepnowski, Chad Hennings, Emmitt Smith, Tony Romo, and Mark Tunei. Known for our ginormous pancakes, friendly service, and former owner Jackie Shield's larger than life personality. Ham-N-Eggs has been serving up the community for over 34 years. Jackie Shields ruled the roost for over 22 years until here passing in late 2007. To keep her legacy alive Jackie's son Jody Rice and her loyal staff continued to spread Jackie's mission.
