This is a great Waffle House located not far from St. Andrew's State Park where we are camping - I love waking up early and cooking breakfast at the campground but after this visit I'll be second guessing myself and plan to stop in again. The staff here was super friendly and worked together like a well oiled machine it's oblivious this crew has been working together for quite awhile - we decided to grab two stools at the counter upfront and personal with the flat tops that keeps this place running, the two skilled short order cooks who manned these stations worked as one it was pretty amazing to watch - all the food plated is double checked for accuracy and everything was served up hot. Our server Amanda was on top of everything when it came to her customers and double checked to ensure we were totally satisfied with our meals and was quick to grab a few "to go" beverages before she cleared the counter once we were done. Went to this location for my birthday on May 21st. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a friendly smile and amazing service. I was so impressed with how well the staff communicated with each other and seemed to take genuine pride in their jobs. The food was cooked perfectly and service was outstanding. This review is for the Waffle House right across the street from Pelican Walk on Thomas Dr. Husband and I have never been in a Waffle House that we can remember, so if we have it has been more than 20 years. Anyway, we walked right in and picked out a booth. Christine was our server. She was perfect. Her timing for coffee, ordering and asking how things tasted, were right on the money. I had the bacon, egg, cheese, hash brown bowl and my husband had sausage, eggs, hash browns and toast. Food came out quickly, hot and fresh. Coffee was good, which is rare it seems whenever we go out. Our booth happened to be at one end of the counter where we could see the cooks.....and floor, etc. Everything looked clean :-) Would highly recommend this particular WH. read more

My only reason for a 1 star review is the cook from tonight. He was supposedly the manager on duty tonight and treated the employees like crap. He did take my criticism in stride at first and as soon as another customer tried to stick up for him after not witnessing what I witnessed, he started to get defensive. Regardless of how the employee acted, you don't chastise them in front of a whole restuarant. The "server" tried to also embarass the same employee and you could tell she was somehow involved with the "MOD". They both went on break at the same time, came back in to the restaurant at the same time and then had attitude when this situation came about and she needed to use the cash register. I will be following up with the real manager tomorrow when he is back on duty and ensuring this situation is heard about. It doesn't matter what your occupation is, everyone deserves to be treated with respect. read more

I've dined here close to 10 times over the years and it is consistently the best experience out of all the waffle houses I've been to. Easter Sunday morning - Very busy place, but we walked in and a lady greeted us and directed us to one last booth for two just waiting for us! Small, but just the right size for what we needed. Coffee was brought right away and before we knew it our order was in front of us. We were amazed with the way the orders were coming out of that busy kitchen. Great teamwork! And, the food looked awesome. Our meals were tasty and the wait staff kept our coffee cups full and our table clean. Can I give this nasty place less than one star? They dropped what I can only assume was the egg and bacon from my order on the floor by the grill since it didn't come with my order. After I was asked if everything was okay I told the waitress I didn't get my egg and bacon so they took it from someone else order. When I left the egg and bacon was still on the floor and no attempt was made to clean it up. I really don't expect a lot from Waffle House but they didn't have very much business. I'll review the chain at this location as I've been to many and they're all so different. This place has the distinction of being the Waffle House that I went to on spring break. This is the perfect hangover medication. There is nothing as awesome as a mess of breakfast to cure you getting messed till you confess the night before. The food is standard American diner food. The quality varies widely from location to location. Waffle Houses are notorious for having terrible staffs. For some reason I don't care about any of that. I love Waffle Houses... I think because they're exotic to me. I'm sure Denny's is not terribly different but I don't gush about my mediocre experiences there. I do with this place. Then there's the funny stories about how you can wait for a half hour for the wait staff to resolve their fights to get served. This is not typical... but if you keep coming back you'll probably get a story that something like this. read more

The worst experience I've never had. My server did not speak English. Her name was irene. Then looked at me like I was crazy when she charged me for my meal. After I told her and showed her there was hair in it. Told me to come back at 7 am to talk to the manager. Also refusinh to tell me their managers name. Telling me there was no manager on duty. Then accused me of not paying my bill. And then proceeded to fight me.your cook and other server proceeded to do the same thing. Im a server and would never condone this behavior. read more
