As an added treat, I gave this place a second shot. Nope, just as bad. As a special bonus, my waitress was WAY into her phone. I mean when you're in the service business and you are in front of customers: maybe the best way to get a good tip is to stay off your phone and take care of your customers? I am not talking a brief peek or a short message; on her phone non stop. Figured maybe she had outgrown that by now, I guess not. The food was also not cooked to request: burnt hashbrowns and runny eggs. Coffee was good, but even better if your waitress puts the phone down and gets you a refill. Tip for the staff that may be reading this: Yes most tabs are about $15/pp, so you are getting a $2-$3 tip per person. Here is how to maximize it: Check on your customer 2x-3x to make sure they are good, get them refills, offer a water with coffee, offer a to-go coffee if they are finishing up. So when a waitress does a good job and takes care of me: Its not a big deal to leave a $20 on a $15 meal. Now do that across a full shift and you are making decent $. read more

My order was an Allstar with bacon and coffee. Everything was fine, but no check on me, no refill on coffee. A tad disappointing, but the food was on par even though the service slipped. So honestly everything was fantastic bc of one person which is not only greeting folks but also cooking and serving. No one else in the building but this young gentleman....not only is the food and service great he continues to have a smile and great attitude.. after being on the road for five hours and just tired his presence and hospitality was much needed.. The crew, especially Cooki, handled our late night groups' orders, even while dealing with a large party of rowdy teenagers. Cooki was friendly, attentive and polite. The food was cooked well and came out in a timely manner. Everyone who was working checked in on us to make sure that we had everything that we needed. I would definitely frequent this location again. There have been many Waffle Houses that get a bad reputation due to lack of workers, cleanliness, etc. but this one did a great job! I had never been to Waffle House before, so the fact that this location was a stones throw from the Red Roof Inn that I stayed it was a win-win. I walked in and seated myself because the original table I wanted to sit in was dirty and had not been cleaned. I ordered an orange juice, 2 waffles, steak, cheese eggs, and the meal came with toast and hash browns. The wait for the food wasn't long at all. Problem was the food itself. The hash browns were hard with no flavor at all. The cheese eggs needed some salt and pepper which made them okay. The steak wasn't tough, but I def needed some A1 steak sauce. The waffle itself was big and soft. The waitress was okay, but the food really ruined the entire experience for me. So I went late but it was not to crowded. The young man who took my order appeared very new and had a tough time taking the order. After providing clarity my order was still messed up. The other staff attempted to assist him. I ordered the chicken meal with double chicken and hashbrowns. I realized after getting home my order was not complete. The hashbrowns were overcook to the point that I could not eat because it was so hard and not edible. I wanted regular toast (2) but got one slice of texas toast. The chicken was burnt as well. I have always heard of the Waffle House chain but I finally had a chance to try a location........and gosh golly and gee I am sure glad I did : ) Friendly staff and seemed clean inside. (and the menus were not sticky because I hate when that happens at breakfast places) Tried the loaded hash browns with every topping available (Jalapeno pepper, onion, cheese, grilled tomato, grilled mushrooms, ham, and covered with both Bert's chili and sausage gravy). It's a meal by itself AWESOME !!!!!! The grits aren't that bad here either. Excellent biscuits and gravy. The blueberry waffles were just so-so. Side Note - They don't have rye bread. After having gone to another location which was fulln I drive another 5 min to tgis one. Nicely greeted when I came in. Great customer care. Breakfast cooked to perfection! Sometimes scrambled eggs are dry-these were perfect! Wait staff could be a little more attentive, especially with half the space closed off. Very clean store. I had a great experience here past midnight. I went in and instantly the service put a smile on my face. Missy introduced me to everyone in the diner including my fellow customers, and made me feel comfortable and part of the 3rd shift family. Absolutely incredible service! The food was just as good. A huge portion of eggs, toast, bacon, hasbrowns, and a big pecan waffle for 7.50 (plus tax). I didn't expect to enjoy my experience as much as I did. I'll definitly be back! read more
