My sides were the lemon potato wedges, cooked just right (not soggy at all) with a lemon flavor that gave them an extra kick. For dessert, I had the coconut cake, and it's truly one of the best coconut cakes I've ever had. As you can probably tell from the picture, I almost finished it before remembering to snap a photo. That's a first for me-gumbo is a hot spicy soup; cold crab meat on top ruins it. Why wouldn't you mix the meat in with the soup? If it's me, and this is how you make authentic gumbo, then it's me. Perhaps you should check the expiration date on your box of saltines, because serving your guests with saltines that are as fresh as a piece of cardboard sitting in the sun for a year is maybe not a great addition to the soup.
