Stopped by Waffle House and went for the All Star Signature--definitely worth the wait! The plate was huge and everything was super comforting. The waffles were golden and fluffy, the bacon and sausage hit just right, and the hashbrowns were classic Waffle House goodness. Only downside? The over-medium eggs didn't really hit--they were a little off compared to the rest of the meal. But honestly, that was a minor gripe because the rest of the food more than made up for it. I would like to start this review by stating I like waffle house as much as the next gal however, last Tuesday, I had an absolutely low tear experience at this waffle house I got sat relatively quickly and as it wasn't all that busy HOWEVER, the table was sticky, but you know what I've had my way around the food service industry. I understand it can be tough to get around to all the tables to clean them, but that isn't even the worst part because around five minutes after I sit and I order my food in comes a gangle of individuals. and boy or boy when those three individuals walked in about 15 felonies followed. It's no surprise that the typical individual that comes to a waffle House on the day-to-day might not be the most classy elegant individual but my golly did these individuals take the cake. Right off the bat when they sat down and overall throughout the entire time,the remarks that these individuals were making were regarding race, gender and other topics of conversation that sho be discussed in private were absolutely sickening many of the remarks were so vulgar I dare not say them on Yelp in fears of my account being removed, that is how bad it was. And to note that the server whose name I've sadly forgotten as at the moment there were bigger fish to fry was very much buddy buddy with these individuals. Ok a lady can have friends, I respect that, #GirlPower. However, how the staff of Waffle House allow individuals to conduct themselves needs to be stepped up and the fact that this type of behavior is allowed within this establishment is quite disappointing.The entire experience was incredibly uncomfortable and I find myself feeling absolutely despondent. read more

Bo was our server and he was great. He was running his butt off all in the restaurant taking care of everybody. My husband thought he was the manager, the way he was taking care of everything. This was always my favorite Springfield WH location, but the new night cook sucks. He has a big long thick beard and wears no beard net, so it came as no surprise when I found a big long beard hair in my bacon, egg and cheese grit bowl. Lucky for me I guess that the grits were not fit to eat anyway... they were lumpy and so cold they didn't even begin to melt the cheese. Also while I was there I watched him drop a cooked egg on his working surface and put it back on a plate, which I found disturbing. My server never offered to refill my coffee either, which sucked because WH charges a lot for cheap coffee. They tore this location down to the studs last year and rebuilt it ... Exactly The Same. Hey, if the concept works why change it right? Right now they are only doing take out during the day, due to staffing issues related to their not being enough customers making it worthwhile for waitresses to work the day shifts. Went in the other morning and ordered a simple breakfast. I couldn't help but notice the large amounts of scratch marks on my waitress's arms. My appetite was immediately lost when I saw these and I couldn't take a bit of my meal. Don't hire suic people with visible harm to their self. You have lost my business for good. read more

Went in to the wafflehouse thats always understaffed, all the tables were taken or dirty with some blocked due to lack of staff , confirmed by the manager when we sat at that table to wait for a clean table. She was very rude and rolled her eyes at me when i explained we were waiting on a table to be cleaned off. The rest of the staff was visibly embarrassed by her actions and tried their best to make it right. Everyone else did a great job under the circumstances. Decided I'd try a new location of a favorite chain on my way home to Kansas City from Tablerock Lake. Stopped there at 6AM. I was the only customer, but there were 4 other people there...3 sitting around talking, one at the grill. The place was filthy, even for Waffle House standards. I counted 7 flies at the counter, then decided to use the restroom. It looked like someone had tee-peed the place, but it was just filthy. The urinal had a sign (not a recent addition) that said "out of order", the toilet had urine all over it, the sink was slop-sink grungy, and the room was full of flies. Why not prop the door open to allow those flies the freedom to join their friends in the dining room...obviously the employees just don't care. I mentioned the state of the restroom to the manager (by title only, obviously), and she just sat there...as I went out the door. I've been a WH customer for decades, but this one would cause me to never again use that chain, if they were all this bad. Thanks to better managers, most WH locations are pretty clean, and the employees care enough to keep customers coming back for good food and a clean environment in which to enjoy the "floor show". read more

So upset! (I'll start by saying I love Waffle House, something about the food and some workers are so nice. I have been a loyal WH customers for decades). This time it was absolutely awful service. Arrived and called in an order to go and asked if I could pay over the phone (with COVID going on figured I could help by paying ahead), the lady took my card and said it would be about 10mins, but she then said sorry it seems like I over charged you. She stated I'll refund you and you can come in and pay, I say ok sure. Got a call the food was ready so went in, a lady took my card and ask "how do we run this?" I said not sure but it has a chip (she was in a hurry) she proceed to swipe it four times and then typed in the numbers, gives me my card and just walks away (cleaned a table and took a cigarette break). I asked excuse me- I'm missing a side of bacon, another lady comes by and says have you been helped and I said well someone was taking my payment but walked away and I am missing a side. She says here it shows it was declined, I responded well might be because she swiped it numerous times. I told her can you give me a minute and call and see what's going on with my card. As I am calling my card institution she said let me ask my manager, I said ok thank you. He comes up and said it looks like it was declined and now might card my be locked. He said it looks like it wasn't ran, I said it was swiped about 5 times, and now there's a hold for 30mins to try to get this resolved with my card. The manager at Waffle House had the audacity to say "well it's a Capitol One I don't know how they work, I have a Discover" (in my mind, what does that comment have to do with what's going on). Finally I got a text to unlock my card as it had 5 authorization holds from Waffle House. Management at this location is absolutely awful, the food was great. read more

My kid loves this place, which is why it gets 4 instead of 3 stars. I admit, it is good breakfast grease, but it is not a sit around and relax place. Get in, eat, and get out. Coffee could be better and bathroom a little nicer, but for under $10/person I do not expect much. Staff is always nice and attentive, especially to the kids. I was in hopes that when the Waffle House Corporation took ownership of this restaurant, they would have at least cleaned the place up. The mens bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned in years. Urine all over the floor and walls, no toilet paper just to boot. The entire restaurant was dirty from the windows to the grill. The staff has their children stay in the restaurant at night, I'm guessing because they have no babysitter. I'n not sure they are licensed for this? I became ill within 30 minutes after eating their. Avoid this place like the plague, as you might be it's next victim.... I'll never eat at any Waffle House again, period. read more
