The waitresses take the order, on paper, then walk to the cook tell them specifically what plates, meat, etc are needed. Food was prepared fresh & hot within a few minutes. Waffle House for a person from West Coast in a rare treat in delightfully white trash cousine. Food was absolutely delicious. Exactly what we came here for. Service was subpar. Most servers at a short order restaurants have excellent short term memory and seldom forget items, let alone more than one. However what made this place special was entertainment. Halfway through our experience one of the guests became upset over their bacon. They yelled at the cook. Somehow a server took offense to all of that. As a result, a total Jerry Springer drama had ensued with literally everyone screaming over everyone in front of all customers. This cleared the place right out. I visited this location around 5am Saturday, November 2. I ordered a simple bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on regular bread with extra cheese and scrambled eggs. The guy preparing my food and another guest's did NOT change his gloves after touching the raw bacon. Then with the same gloves he used to pull the bacon, he touched other items getting them ready for my sandwich (bread to toast and cheese). I said something to Jessica who took the order. She told him what I said "that's cross contamination b/c he didn't change his gloves. I am calling the Health Dept." He then made a very angry face and changed his gloves but he was NOT HAPPY that I complained. He finished preparing the sandwich and once Jessica gave it to me...I started to walk out of the door. He proceeded to yell very mean and crude things to me. If you want to hear everything that was said, please view/listen to the tapes. The most disgusting comment was that he called me a "CUNT"! That is very disrespectful and so unprofessional. I was absolutely mortified. What I didn't disclose at that time is that I had just left UC West Chester hospital and had a significant death in my family. I was mentally & physically exhausted and all I wanted was a hot sandwich so I could take some headache meds and take a nap. He then threatened to call the police on me which I said please do. He proceeded to call someone so I was waiting on the police to come for at least 15 minutes but they didn't show. I wanted them to come so they could hear my side of what happened. He nor Jessica would tell me his name but later that day, I went back and Frank was great. He said his name is Chris and Frank remade my food. They say exceptions prove the rule, though I'm not really sure how. In any case, although I avoid chains like the plague, I am a Waffle House fan. Being a transplanted New Yorker, there is still something so quaint and different about WH. I remember that as you headed south on I95, the first WH sighting meant you'd crossed the unofficial Mason-Dixon Line. Works the same way westbound too. This location is our go-to WH and it's a great place for a down home breakfast or hearty brunch. Has a genuine little town diner feel to it. Friendly staff, tasty food and lots of it for a pretty low price. Prompt and generous on the coffee refills. This place is clean and comfortable, though it can be a little tricky finding the right driveway to reach it! This is probably not a problem for natives though. They do the eggs to perfection... Over easy was a masterpiece, my husband was delighted with his poached ones, too. Two kinds of ham, sausage, bacon, hash browns with a zillion add in options, and of course, those famous waffles. And grits even, if that's your thing. Biscuits and gravy! I mean, how down home heartland America can you get? First I must say I am a huge fan of Waffle House, I eat in a lot of them across the country, mostly while I travel for work. The one thing I really like is you can watch your food being cooked. Sure somethings are a little greasy, but at least you know why. Sure the place can look a little worse for wear at times, but hey it isn't like this is a high paying job. I know the food is freshly cooked and my dishes are almost always clean. This location is no different. The staff is very helpful and greet you when you walk in. I have never had a bad meal here, never. I can sadly also so I have never had an amazing meal here either, but never a bad one. I have had everything from steak to biscuits and gravy. Nothing bad. My normal go to when I am just hungry enough to want say a medium meal is to order the bacon egg and cheese biscuit and have it covered in gravy. My favorite, and I of course always order the coffee here. The coffee isn't the best, but not the worst either. It is just good coffee. read more

Terrible customer service. Placed a "to Go" order and after 30 minutes waiting the staff could not locate my order and it's ticket. The staff working here are very unorganized and constantly arguing with each other. So after a thirty minute wait I was forced to leave without my order. We have lived here for a year and have visited this waffle house on many occasions. This is the slowest service I have ever experienced. If they were busy and people were standing at the door I would understand however there are empty tables everywhere and after 10 minutes I still did drinks or silverware. I visited this particular location back in early January, in fact, it was on New Year's day. It was sometime during the early afternoon when a couple of us stopped by for a quick meal when we discovered a very rude employee. I've always enjoyed the fact that Waffle House has an open view of the kitchen where I can watch my food be prepared, but during that course of when I entered and left the building I wished I had sat far away from the counter. I witnessed an employee be rude numerous times towards her fellow co-worker and was shouting to communicate with people, despite there being no music playing and/or many people in the building. When she would take the plates over to stack, she was practically slamming them down with zero interest in doing it in a quieter manner for those sitting directly in front of where the clean plates were kept. I've worked as a server at a restaurant before and I understand the pros and cons of the job. I understand that you'll have some bad days and I'm sure no one wants to be working the day after New Year's Eve, but this employees behavior was frustrating and it was awkward to hear how we spoke to her co-workers. I use to go to this establishment a lot many years ago and have only visited it recently this once. I'll likely will give it another shot as I have fond memories of this location, but I really hope the atmosphere shared between its employees changes some. read more

When traveling to Michigan on I-75 we stopped at a Waffle House and this has to be one of the cleanest Restaurants we have ever eaten at. If I could, I would give it zero stars. Traveling for business somebody told me they had good waffles here.I Didn't get to eat there. Went in on a Sunday night. Only two other people in there who were already eating. The cook talked and talked and talked and told his entire life story, where he went to college, what degree he got. There was one other employee looks like she was preparing meals to go. Sat in a booth for 10 minutes. No one said hello, will get your order in a second , no acknowledgment that I had entered the restaurant. I stood up and asked if there was a waitress and the cook got really snarky with me and a huge loud fake smile type of attitude said yes we have a waitress but she's busy doing other things. He was too busy socializing or he could've asked me what I wanted to eat. She could've acknowledge my existence and said that she would be with me in a minute. Super simple menu. It's a great place to eat any time of the day when you're craving waffles like I often do. They have an extended menu available, you just have to ask for it. My personal favorite are the strawberry waffles. The strawberries aren't real, but those little flavor nuggets that are common in ready to make baked mixes and lord are they everything. I don't care if they could potentially cause cancer, they taste like heaven and are everything right in the world. Service is super quick, the best time to go is late at night. The late night staff is super personable and very attentive and fun to joke with. It tends to be super busy early in the mornings especially on the weekend. It's basically down home cooking with no frills, but it hits the spot and is a great place for a family to eat at, or if you're balling on a budget, because let's be real, the struggle is very real. read more

A single star is way above deserving of this establishment. My wife and I stopped on our way in to town to visit family for the holidays. We arrived at roughly 0240 to a half empty store. A older women walked up and asked us what we wanted to drink. We told her water and OJ. I then notified her we were ready to order as well. She said just a minute and walked away. 15 min goes by and she is just standing at the counter. No drinks no order. The second waitress walks up and asks us again what we want to drink and eat. We order again, she brings the drinks. Around 20 min later she delivers us 2 sausage patties an order of hash browns and 2 over easy eggs. At this point we are missing a waffle and two pieces of toast. I asked for it and yet another 10 min before we get that. As we are eating we looked around. Not a single customer had been asked what they wanted to eat or drink since we ordered and at least 10 people had come in. A family of four left while waiting. Two guys across from us finally after 30 minutes was asked what they wanted to eat and drink. As I watched and went to pay my bill they still had not received their drinks. So I proceeded to ask why the lady was just standing there spaced out and she said she was waiting to send in the order. Mean while the cook is currently busting his ass to get the current orders complete. This whole time these two waitresses just stood there not doing shit. To make matters worse the OJ I ordered to have with my meal was HOT. WTF. Also. Just after we had placed our order "after 20 min from walking in the door" a couple came in and gave the old lady waitress a Bengals tail. Funny how they received their food order before we did.
