It wasn't until the customers twice ogled me, returning from setting my car alarm, that I began to wonder what I had walked into... Having ordered the Red Wonder "dough" vs "batter" waffle with "pearl sugar" I parted with a hard earned $10. It was bereft of the promised "half raspberries", quickly remedied. It was then, returning from washing my hands; that I saw the big red heart behind the service counter, with the "Oh Lord, I will honor and praise your name... Isiah 25:I" that it hit me. I used to go to Waffle Love a lot during college while I waited for my boyfriend to finish his classes, and I am so happy to see that it's grown in popularity since. The store can be inconspicuous, but it is right on Reseda. You might be lucky to find street parking but there is also a parking lot in the back. There are definitely newer things on the menu, including the Nash, an homeage to the recent boom of Nashville hot chicken, but they also still have some of the OG's like their weekly special, which I used to get regularly. No matter what flavor is their weekly special, I swear all of them are delicious. I got the Weekly Special, which was The Dulce that week. My boyfriend got the Founder's Favorite as well as the Nash. The plain waffles themselves are honestly amazing, sweet, and perfectly fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The toppings I feel are just additional amazingness. I absolutely love the fried ice cream on the dulce de leche, and the whipped cream on the founder's favorite is both simple and elegant. The Nash had crunchy, juicy chicken, though I wasn't the biggest fan of their spicy which tasted more like tabasco sauce than anything (though I'm sure others would like it!). I'm glad I was able to try it, but definitely would recommend just going for their waffles here since that's what their known for. Any waffle you get will be delicious, and if you're like me, just trust them and go with the weekly special. I came here for brunch today and was it a good choice. They have a private lot in the back but there not a lot of spaces so be aware. There also street parking as an alternate choice. The staff seems very friendly and energetic when greeting me. I got the breakfast Sammy with a coke for my dish. It took about 5 minutes to be made and then they'll call out your name to go pick up your order. My waffle sandwich was very good but also very heavy. It's probably not healthy to eat but it is fulfilling. The place said 45 people are max for occupants. They were busy when I got there, all the tables where taken and they have some setting near the cashier area. My kids love the bananas and crème style waffle with the chocolate chips unfortunately my son pointed out a very very lengthy string of hair in his food. Appetit immediately spoiled. Just wear hair nets ! Don't be defensive once the error is pointed out either, and offer us another potentially hairy waffle - you have to take food service seriously and constantly swinging that loose ponytail of hair will not resolve the problem. LOVE! LOVE! Love the "Red Wonder" waffle; I actually got "The Works" (with strawberry) and added the raspberries with the Yelp check-in offer. I absolutely loved the waffles; the biscoff on it was delicious! The cashier mentioned how their waffles are made by dough (instead of batter) and a sugar crystal (imported from Belgium) is placed inside the dough so when it touches the waffle iron it melts into the dough. Yum!!! The sweetness of the waffle with the fruit was well balanced. The waffle alone was delicious too. My bf got the Dulce de Liege which is a churro waffle. It also comes with a scoop of deep-fried ice cream. The waffle churro didn't have the consistency of churros at all, but my guess is it's just the name and the added sugar and cinnamon give it the "churro" name. However, they do have parking in the back where they share with other tenants in the plaza. You just need to turn to the small alley (by Dunkin Donuts), then turn right, and you'll see public and FREE parking. It is right before you reach an apartment's parking garage next door. Service: We probably waited about 15mins for our order. It's not terrible but its NOT the best either. I do want to give a shoutout to the amazing crew who are SOO NICE to their customers! The tables also needed a LITTLE ATTENTION when we were there. Waffle crumbs are everywhere and the chairs were disorganized. Given the messy condition, I was surprised that the condiment area (place where its always messy!) is actually very NEAT & TIDY! Atmosphere: They have this nice positive affirmations quotes everywhere which is CUTE and the attractive restaurant logo on the wall is MESMERIZING. They have this modern-industrialized type of interior for their dining table/chairs which I find VERY INTERESTING. Very HIP! Arrived early for a color run event last month at a local church close by and needed some fuel before the 5k event. My roommate searched for breakfast places and of course when we saw the word waffles, we were sold. We found this cute place that was having their soft opening at the time. We were the first customers of the day and were greeted with friendly smiles. I wanted to really taste the waffle and its chewy glory so I opted for the churro waffle and added the homemade cream. The manager provided us with A+ service and explained the dough and how it had the sweetness built into the waffle. It came out nice and hot and had the perfect chewy and tender goodness with a slight crisp on the outside. The cinnamon and sugar, along with the delicious homemade cream was the perfect combo for a not so heavy breakfast before the run. Ok it's better then the menu reads so that should say a lot considering reading the menu had me salivating! Ok so here's my play by play reaction. I am the only car in the parking and the only person so immediately I am thinking of booking it to BJs for a Pazooki but promises of homemade whipped cream has me stay.
