9/13/2025 Ate List: Country Fried Steak - 8.7 Kelly O's might be a local Top 5 breakfast spot for me. Service has always been great, quick, and kind. Food has been spectacular. There's a lot to love and appreciate here. My Country Fried Steak this time was incredible. Just the flavors and consistency you would want and expect. Will absolutely return.

Best Breakfast in Pittsburgh so delicious and fresh with excellent staff. My Dad was with me and is a Vietnam Vet and was wearing his ball cap with that on it, a very nice couple paid for mine and my Dad's breakfast and the waitress said he said to say how much he appreciated my Dad for serving our country the people here in Pittsburgh are so very nice it is the best place to live. We came from California 9 years ago and my Dad has been told so many times Thank You for serving our country in California people do not do that, he says how nice it is to hear this from such lovely people here in Pittsburgh

Not sure how this is possible- but yet another local favorite that is had not reviewed. This gem is always a good place for breakfast & lunch. Pittsburgh classics & many great comfort food items. Good food, service & fair price with a warm & inviting atmosphere.

First time visit. Staff was welcoming and we easily got a table for two on a weekday at lunchtime. They don't allow substitutions. I enjoyed my sandwich and could have ordered breakfast as many choices sounded good too. The ambiance was a sunny hopping space.

Emily was our server and was fantastic. She seemed to be at the table the moment we sat down and took our order right away. The food came very quickly and we were in and out of Kelly's in about 30-35 mins. The highlights for me was the kielbasa and hot sausage patty. Both were moist, but not greasy. The eggs and the pancakes were standard, but also not something that I had to keep going back for bites. My husband said his omelet was a little dry. I didn't try it so I can't give him opinion on it. The bread itself was good, but quite dry even though there was some butter on it. All in all, a great place to grab breakfast.

Kelly Oooooo my goodness! This place is great! There was a bit of a wait when we arrived, but it's abundantly clear why after enjoying our meal: it's awesome. (Plus, this is not a huge restaurant - it's a diner through and through. Loud and crammed full of people eating and talking.) Our server was a delightful young lady with a wonderful attitude and a work ethic to match. She promptly took our drink order and was smiling and attentive throughout the entire meal. Terrific hospitality! But what is great service without great food? We started our meal with a cinnamon roll and fresh squeezed orange juice. That set the tone for what was a great meal. The fresh squeezed orange juice was refreshing and a welcome surprise. And the cinnamon roll was homemade and delectable! For the main course, my wife had the Pittsburgh (kielbasa, pirogies, eggs, and hollandaise sauce) with shredded potatoes and a pancake. My mom had blueberry French toast. Last but not least, I had the turkey club w/ French fries and a cup of Pittsburgh chili. We all savored our meals. I will point out the turkey club was not the run of the mill turkey lunch meat and boring bread. This was legit carved turkey and nice hearty Texas toast. And the chili? Wow!! I'd eat that over and over! It has a great flavor and a noticeable kick of spice but not overpowering. It pairs perfectly with a cold sandwich like a turkey club; they offset each other temperature-wise but make for an enjoyable combined flavor. My wife and mom thoroughly enjoyed their meals also, and they looked amazing to me too! I've attached pics of everything. I without a doubt recommend dining here!

Solid Diner with good food, coffees, drinks, and good service. Food came out quick and accurate and the service was good. I'd come back if visiting again.

Kelly Os hits every single time. This place is our breakfast spot, and we've never had a bad experience. Quick service, delicious diner grub, and a Triple D joint make for a great start to the day! The protein breakfast is plentiful (turkey sausage right off the griddle gives that classic diner taste), and my wife always gets Seana's favorite, which has the perfect salty, sweet combo. Coffee refills always come fast. We love it here, and Kelly Os always gives us our fill while also not crushing our wallet!

My first visit to Kelly O'Diner in Warrendale was quite an experience. I arrived with a friend for breakfast right at 8 o'clock. The place had plenty of available seating at that time, but it got progressively busier. Within 10 minutes of placing our order, our breakfast was served. We were sitting and chatting and to our surprise we were asked to leave because there was a line out the door. I opted for the breakfast sandwich, and my friend went with an omelette. When I inquired about their scrambled eggs, I learned they were made with real eggs and included non-dairy creamer. A side of raisin toast, which came at a somewhat hefty price of five dollars for 2 slices. However, the waitress assured us it was made in-house with no preservatives. The restaurant was clean and the waitress was very pleasant.. A sign was posted indicating a 3.5% credit card surcharge. Check your bill to make sure this charge is not on your bill before paying cash. As we left the restaurant, we noticed that the Food Network and Triple D has visited the restaurant.

I was in town and needed some breakfast. I have been to Kelly Os before while traveling but was with a group. This visit I did on my own I enjoyed sitting at the counter. The place was clean. I did notice a Jura coffee machine - I probably could have ordered a latte but stuck with traditional coffee. My server was on it, she kept my cup filled. The food was great. I had a big breakfast sandwich with spicy sausage and potatoes. The potatoes were done to my liking. Definitely a go to for breakfast when I am in the area

Years ago, when it was Freedom Square Diner, it was always a cute spot, but didn't feel special. We were all in the mood for something different today. My son ordered the full breakfast spread with eggs, sausage, pancakes, and all the extras and immediately declared it a "10 out of 10 breakfast." I have a feeling his enthusiasm alone is going to have us coming back week after week.My husband had Johnny's chicken sandwich and said it was one of the best sandwiches he's ever had. I ordered a chicken salad, which sounds pretty boring, but it was good. They make the chicken fresh and it was topped with crispy shoestring fries that were absolutely perfect. Our server, Amy, was wonderful. Even though she was busy, she took time to talk with us about the menu and share some of her favorites. When we mentioned it was our first visit, she smiled and said the owner was working and would probably come say hello. Sure enough, he did. You could immediately tell this is someone who truly cares about his business. He had that sparkle in his eye while talking about the food, the ingredients, and the restaurant itself. You don't fake that kind of passion. It was obvious he is fully invested in every detail of the place. I know the restaurant business is hard, especially with so many chain options everywhere. Experiences like this remind me why supporting local businesses matters. Hearing that Bennies also supports other local businesses through the ingredients they source (including carrying my favorite local coffee beans!) just reinforced that even more. So glad we gave Bennies9 a try today. We'll absolutely be back again and again.

Although entertaining a late breakfast/brunch yesterday, Saturday (2/10/26), the wait was very short since the staff was able to clear and clean tables immediately after a customer has concluded their meal and left all content. The scrumptious Shrimp and Grits was an excellent menu item. It was tasty, creamy, and the big portion was well prepared. The crispy Chicken and Waffle also a delight! The manager and server were also very cordial and on top of the refills of their awesome coffee. I will have to return and try their Eggs 'Bennie' Dict and Corned Beef Hash next time.

Owned by longtime locals John and Melanie Dober, it positions itself as a warm, community-focused spot blending upscale comfort food with a welcoming vibe--think handcrafted sandwiches, premium Black Angus steaks, fresh seafood, flatbreads, and daily specials, all with thoughtful wine and bourbon selections. We were excited for what promised to be a polished neighborhood gem, and in many ways, it delivered. The food was genuinely great and the clear highlight. Our dishes were flavorful, well-executed, and creative without being fussy--fresh ingredients shone through, portions were generous, and everything arrived hot and beautifully plated. It's easy to see why so many reviewers rave about the crab cakes, steaks, and chef specials; the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. This is elevated American fare that feels special yet approachable, and we'd happily return just for the meals. That said, a few aspects fell short and left us feeling the overall experience wasn't quite as seamless as the food deserved. First and foremost, the billing transparency issue was disappointing. They add a 3% bank/credit card processing fee to the check (which adds up quickly on a family dinner), but this isn't disclosed on the menu, at the table, or in any obvious way during the ordering process. There's only a small sign posted outside the restaurant. We only noticed it when the bill arrived, and it felt like an afterthought rather than a clear policy. In an era where many restaurants are upfront about surcharges (or absorb them), this lack of disclosure came across as sneaky and detracted from the otherwise positive value perception. The atmosphere was another mixed bag. The space itself is attractive--soft lighting, comfortable seating, and that friendly "upscale brew pub" energy the owners aim for. However, it was noticeably noisy during our evening visit. Conversations required raised voices, especially as the dining room filled up, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal fully. OpenTable rates the noise as "moderate," but on our night it tipped louder than that, possibly due to the layout or lack of sufficient sound absorption. A bit more attention to acoustics could make a big difference. Service was mostly attentive and efficient, but the management interaction stood out in a negative way. When we politely mentioned the surprise fee at the end of the meal, the response was an apology that felt scripted and insincere--like it had been delivered many times before without real follow-through or ownership. It didn't leave us feeling heard or valued as guests. On a brighter note, the owners John and Melanie genuinely come across as lovely people. The restaurant has that personal, homegrown touch you can sense even when they're not physically present, and locals speak highly of them. They were absent during our nighttime visit, though, which is understandable for owners juggling a busy operation--but their warmth is missed when the front-of-house team is handling everything solo. In summary, Wexford Public excels where it matters most: the food is consistently excellent and worth the trip on its own. The family-owned charm and diverse menu make it a strong neighborhood choice for special occasions, casual dinners, or even happy hour in the cocktail bar. However, clearer communication about the credit card fee (ideally on the menu or bill upfront), better noise management, and more authentic handling of guest concerns would elevate it from very good to outstanding. We'll likely go back for the cuisine, but with tempered expectations on the finer details. If you're in the Wexford area and prioritize great American plates, it's still a solid recommendation--just check the small print before you pay.
