Wagner's plumber installed a kitchen faucet set I purchased and replaced a hot water previously purchased valve. I was charged $905.45. The plumber was competent and persistent. But I was asked to sign three statements I was not allowed to read to approve the work, and was never issued an itemized receipt. I called Wagner. I was told Wagner did not issue receipts. On April 20 I arranged to have a tech from Wagner replace a broken outdoor outlet and swivel it to a new facing. I explained that I already had a new unit to install and was quoted a price of $89.00. When the tech got here, I reiterated the situation and repeated that I already had a replacement outlet. The tech repositioned the box with the obviously dangerous outlet and was surprised when I handed him the new one. It took five minutes, but the price suddenly jumped to $292.74. I promptly sent an e-mail to Wagner cancelling the arranged swamp cooler start-up. It was several weeks before I realized the e-mail hadn't gone through and, since I hadn't gotten my 70-year-old carcass up there to do it myself, I just decided to let the appointment stand. At 1:00 pm today (May 15), having stayed at home to wait for their convenience, I received a call that they were short-handed and would I mind rescheduling for next week. Wagner works on what they call an "open schedule," which means they will call you 15 minutes before the technician arrives that day. They will not tell you if you're first in line or the last in line. Despite my preference for a morning appointment and having paid to be a member of their "Checkup Club," they will not arrive by 4 p.m. today. They say this scheduling allows you to "go about your day as normal." That's only true if you're never more than 15 minutes from home each day and can drop what you're doing at a moment's notice to return home. Their scheduling is worse than the stereotypical "4 hour window" cable companies used to give you. You're basically under house arrest until they show up. You cannot speak with the scheduling team directly - you can only call their main line and have the scheduling team call you back. I had to call daily for four days in a row to ever get the scheduling team to return my call. The "Checkup Club" provides no additional value. I thought I would perhaps be paying to get better service, but that was not the case. read more

They clearly broke our mini split. we called for a technician to fix it and were given the runaround. Three times we were told a technician would call- never received a call. We had a simple pipe leak involving a very small (3 cm) segment of a pipe in the wall of our garage. The wall was already removed and the pipe was already exposed. A Wagner plumber came (non-emergently) and spent no more than 30 minutes to replace the pipe segment with a simple copper segment which he sautered into place, taking no more than 1 minute to do. We were pretty shocked then to see a total charge of a whopping $400!! WOW. For less than 30 minutes of work. Furthermore, when we called Customer Service the next day to understand the charge better, we were told Wagner does not have a set hourly rate, and no ability to provide an itemized invoice. When we spoke to the plumber directly, he said the company's rate for repairing pipe leaks is a standard "$397.00" -- regardless of how simple it would be to fix. Seems like a lot to charge for a straightforward, simple issue. Next time we have a plumbing problem, we won't be returning to Wagner and will shop around for more reasonable rates elsewhere. read more

Wagner Mechanical Thank you for the fast service. On Christmas Eve as I was changing the furnace filter, I noticed a wet spot. Water inside our furnace. I knew immediately that the condensate drain was plugged and leaking. And dang it is late afternoon before Christmas. I called Wagner Mechanical, and they came out right away. It was the condensate drain but it wasn't an easy fix. They would have to come back. The technician, Philip Morgan, ensured that we had enough small portable heaters to keep us warm. And those little heaters certainly did the job. Philip was back in just a couple of days and fixed the leak. He ensured it was working and no leaks. He also cleaned our furnace in case any water got anywhere else. He was friendly, capable, and knowledgeable. Thank you Wagner for sending Philip to us. He is a great technician. Thank you Wagner for responding so fast especially around an important holiday. PS Our furnace/ HVAC is about 10 years old and is great. This is the first thing to go wrong and dust is certainly a problem in the Southwest and Albuquerque. read more

I was told portable air conditioners would be brought out. Nope, none were brought. Last update they have ordered the part which will be in about 7 to 9 days. Check up Club on Mini-splits. Shawn Lindley, the technician was a breath of fresh air. Thorough, detailed, measurements, got up on roof, explained and educated. No 10 minute walk through to find some issue and then disappear. Genuine certified professional. Great manner and humor a bonus. The only one we will use and no wonder he has a waiting list. He is the face of the Company for us. And for the cost of our 4 Units this check twice a year and Shawn's thoroughness is a good preventive and enhances the efficiency of the units. Kudos. read more

Our generator works great- exactly what we wanted. However the installation was less than ideal. Started out so hopeful as they did research appropriate to the installation requirements for our standby generator to connect to our existing inverter in an off-grid situation. Unfortunately they neglected to mention or prepare us for the need to hire someone else to dig an 18" deep x 65' trench for propane connections. It took two weeks to get on contract with another company for that task causing unnecessary delay. In addition, they installed a bad battery in our new generator and left us struggling for two weeks to diagnose the issue. (It was either a short on the equipment or the battery they provided - could be nothing else.) Despite sharing our extensive diagnostic and corrective actions with two electricians and an electrical engineer, they did not show up prepared for their warranty oil change service at 25 hrs of use. Once they verified what we proved with that battery as the issue, they wanted another $300 to purchase a new battery from them plus the labor fee.(They did not come with prepared with a battery at all. The R26 battery retails from $65-$150). All of this occurred around a March 3-day blizzard and following. Rough go for off-grid living with no generator. Deeply disappointed in the sloppy follow through after spending $13,000+ on equipment and installation for what we hoped was an ethical business partner. Spoke to Generac several times through this process and verified that this was not how installation should occur. We purchased our own battery for $68 and installed it ourselves, replacing the faulty battery they installed. We saved over half $400 from their apparent "bait and switch" scheme including the remark that we were not charged for the 25hr service oil change. Per our agreement- we were not supposed to be charged for that anyway. Disappointed in these developments. read more

The tech who installed our furnace didn't do it correctly, per the manual, not just once, but twice, to date. It's 12:30 right now and the tech was supposed to be here at 8:00 for his third attempt to install it correctly. The communication between the Wagner and us has been poor at best. An install requires taking a day off work followed by another day for the inspection (the city doesn't give appointment times). When an inspection is failed, it means you will have to take 2 more days off work because Wagner also gives no appointment times, unless you are told you are the first appointment of the day. However, apparently they will bump you without your knowledge from that early appointmenttime to have to wait throughout the day until they come. So far, I've had to spend 6 days sitting and waiting. There has not been one I'm sorry for the inconvenience because our tech hasn't been trained properly. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Use B Carlson, we should have but they didn't offer the brand of furnace that we wanted. B Carlson has excellent customer service! They would never inconvenience a customer. And, their techs are trained. They installed our and my father-in-law's swamp coolers without a hitch. read more

Customer service over the phone wasn't the best but the electricians seemed competent. However, they charged me $116 for a $10 breaker I could've bought at Home Depot (and that didn't even include the service fee). I understand convenience has a price but a 1,000% up charge is a bit of a rip off (and that's putting it kindly). If you ask me, $50 is still a 400% profit and a much more reasonable price. UPDATE: I'm changing my review from 2 stars to 4. After speaking with a representative who then put me in touch with a supervisor, the supervisor was more than willing to work with me. He explained that the price difference included labor and that the service fee was not the labor fee. The service fee was simply to show up, however, I was told when I scheduled that the estimates were free and there was no charge to show. After hearing that the Supervisor immediately offered a refund for the service fee. Reason for 4 stars is because some of the other staff I spoke to seemed a little rude and gave me the runaround connecting me to the wrong departments. Also because it seems like there's some confusion when one rep says there's no service fee and one says there is. Bottom line: Wagner remedied the situation. Should there have been confusion in the first place, probably not but things happen. People are still people. Would I use them again? Potentially, a much higher chance after speaking with the supervisor. read more

The Wagner employees are great. Sadly, they install shoddy equipment that fails and is not covered under warranty. My AC/Furnace was installed in Feb 2018 and the main unit has been fine (well, so far) but the condenser pump and thermostat both quit working a few years later and neither were covered under warranty. They must be installing shoddy equipment to have two significant parts of the system stop working after less than 6 years. It's a terrible shame that they employ clean, kind, communicative technicians but don't have quality hardware for them to install. read more

Terrible!! We called Wagner because our usual plumber couldn't see us in time, we had a small leak leading to our sprinklers. Setting up an appointment was easy, I called on a Friday and they scheduled an appointment for the next Monday morning at 8:30 am. Monday morning rolls around and I get a call at 8:35 am telling me that they will not be there at 8:30, instead of being he first call they moved me to the second call and could not guarantee what time they would actually show up. They finally got there around 11:00. They had to dig a little bit to get to the pipe, but most of the area was already dug up to access the sprinkler valves, the leak was inside the sprinkler box. They replaced the pipe, which was less than a foot long. I was in a meeting when they finished and was unable to look at the job until after they had left. WHAT A F*#king MESS!! They put the sprinkler box back in the wrong place and about 6 inches too high, plus they left one of the pipes crooked and leaning on the box. When I called back and asked if they could send someone out to finish the job, they agreed. When Steven returned, he had the worst attitude and tried to mansplain it away. First he said that's where the box was when he got there, then he said he couldn't straighten the pipe because it would snap (all he had to do was clear out the dirt that he let push the pipe over and straighten it up) and then he said he would have to charge me to move the box over. I went inside and called Wagner, asking for a manager. "All managers leave at 4:00" they said, which is not very smart to have people in the field, but no managers on duty. They said they would have a manager call me back the next day. Well not too surprising, they never called back. Luckily our regular plumbers have agreed to fix it for us. NEVER AGAIN will we ever call this company. Do yourselves a favor and keep looking. read more

We bought an AC unit from Wagner NM 4 months ago and they have already had to come back twice to fix it: 1st time: electrical issue, the installers forgot to attach a piece of wiring, so the unit shut down 2 days after installation. 2nd time: a unit leak, they said that the soonest they could come fix it was a week out. So much for being a loyalty program member with 24 hour support. Super disappointing for having a brand new unit that was so recently installed. Don't buy from them. We called them the previous week to schedule an appointment for a quote to upgrade to A/C for this Monday @ 4pm....They sent us a text which we "accepted" and the appointment was "confirmed". 12:45pm the day of, Paul from Wagner, called and left a msg. to confirm appt. I got back to them within 15 minutes. Paul said that "we lost the time slot for today, because we didn't answer his call. We could sched. another time". We said "No Way!!". when I was buying a new refrigerated air unit it went great , was installed went great. about 8 months later unit stopped cooling. they came out put new thermostat and Freeon. 2 months later not cooling, unit iced up, got fixed . about 2 or 3 weeks later not Cooling again. unfortunately it is a Saturday they do not call until you Monday. live in Albuquerque, temperature 95 degrees or higher. disappointed to finance something that cost so much and not very good quality. no help unless during business hours. read more

I feel I could have been told in the begging I needed a new furnace before I spent a small fortune on repairs, but I guess live and learn should have got other options.
