    Quote for the battery. There's a separate invoice to have them install the battery.

    Our generator works great- exactly what we wanted. However the installation was less than ideal. Started out so hopeful as they did research appropriate to the installation requirements for our standby generator to connect to our existing inverter in an off-grid situation. Unfortunately they neglected to mention or prepare us for the need to hire someone else to dig an 18" deep x 65' trench for propane connections. It took two weeks to get on contract with another company for that task causing unnecessary delay. In addition, they installed a bad battery in our new generator and left us struggling for two weeks to diagnose the issue. (It was either a short on the equipment or the battery they provided - could be nothing else.) Despite sharing our extensive diagnostic and corrective actions with two electricians and an electrical engineer, they did not show up prepared for their warranty oil change service at 25 hrs of use. Once they verified what we proved with that battery as the issue, they wanted another $300 to purchase a new battery from them plus the labor fee.(They did not come with prepared with a battery at all. The R26 battery retails from $65-$150). All of this occurred around a March 3-day blizzard and following. Rough go for off-grid living with no generator. Deeply disappointed in the sloppy follow through after spending $13,000+ on equipment and installation for what we hoped was an ethical business partner. Spoke to Generac several times through this process and verified that this was not how installation should occur. We purchased our own battery for $68 and installed it ourselves, replacing the faulty battery they installed. We saved over half $400 from their apparent "bait and switch" scheme including the remark that we were not charged for the 25hr service oil change. Per our agreement- we were not supposed to be charged for that anyway. Disappointed in these developments.

    Estimate showing a $116 charge for a less than $10 breaker.

David, the tech, was very knowledgeable about a lot of things. Including that the city had to be called out to shut off the water valve at the street since it was rusted closed. Thankfully that didn't add to the price at all. I'm not really familiar with how plumbing is supposed to work today, but I certainly am not a fan of everyone charging a fee just to show up and look at your problem to give you a price. I think that practice is BS. But it seems like everyone is doing that now. Would I use them again? Sure. They got the job done quickly.

I called TLC and the representative who I talked to was friendly, courteous and informative. The price was reasonable. Within hours I was able to have someone come out and look at my heater issue. The heater problem was minor and just needed a new internal electrical igniter. In just a short time, it was fixed and working again. The guy who came who did the service was friendly and knowledgeable, and didn't mind all my questions as he was working. I was very happy with them and will be calling again if I need future services.
