    Bacon Omelette

Great half size omlette. Very good portion. Quick service! Good ambience. Friendly environment.

Small town diner, yes please! A local friend recommended coming her for a end of a girls weekend breakfast. We grabbed a table and a server immediately greet us and took our drink order. Sundays they stick to a breakfast menu, all the normal homemade items are on here. I went with 2 eggs over easy, home fries, rye toast and a side of corned hash. My eyes were way bigger than my stomach. So much food! It was delicious. Friends got a stuffed French toast... looked interesting, sausage Garvey and this sweet breakfast roll... yum.

Been a long time customer/lover of the Wagner! We used to come every Sunday morning in college, and though we haven't been back in awhile, they maintain their quality of the best diner ever. This diner is a hometown, full of love vibe. We were very glad to pop in this morning, be seated quickly, and receive efficient and friendly service. Our favorite thing to get is the Hungry-man Combo, which fills your every need and fuels you for the day. Something new I tried today was their hot chocolate! You can't skip this- it's homemade whipped cream and so chocolatey in the best way. Thanks for the best breakfast ever!!

Excellent Finger Lakes breakfast joint place for a late Sunday morning. Fast service, great omelets, buckwheat pancakes and endless coffee.

18th Amendment was a fantastic choice for a memorable dinner while visiting the area with family…read more Our group included three senior citizens, a baby, and three adults, and we were looking for a legitimate dining experience - it is vacation, after all! I had walked past 18th Amendment earlier in the week and thought it looked worth checking out - just peering in the window, it had a great atmosphere and inviting vibe. When I requested an online reservation I received a prompt and friendly callback - and when we arrived the next night, they had a highchair set up and waiting for us. The cocktails were excellent. I don't mind paying almost city prices when drinks are thoughtfully crafted, balanced, and unique - these absolutely delivered. Our server was wonderful. We asked whether the chef could prepare something for the baby and she quickly returned with several options. Since it was his first birthday, we let him splurge and ordered a filet with risotto. The kitchen sent it out right away, which helped avoid an imminent pre-bedtime meltdown. Dad tax applied--the baby's dinner was delicious! The bartender even sent over a small mocktail for him to try - a thoughtful touch. Every entrée at the table was phenomenal and everyone cleaned their plates. The ingredients were fresh, the portions were generous, and the quality was evident throughout the meal. Great food paired with outstanding service made it easy to justify the price, which again, was not extraordinarily high, all things considered. I highly recommend 18th Amendment if you're looking for a dining experience that's a step above the ordinary.

TL/DR: My friends and I made reservations here for a celebratory dinner, but we wouldn't recommend…read morethis place for anything other than grabbing a drink. Pros: -The cocktails were lovely, very inventive, and delicious. Loved that they used fresh local strawberries! -The appetizers were also creative and tasty. We got the chef eggs and the cremini mushrooms. However for the price the apps were tiny -My entree (the Pasture - souvlaki with Israeli couscous and cucumber salad) was delicious, well seasoned and balanced Cons: -Service was shockingly slow. We had a 7:30 reservation and didn't get our entrees until 9pm. For almost every element we ordered (bread service, apps, entrees) we had to follow up with the waitress to see what the ETA would be. She apologized several times, but a manager got defensive and said that there was only one chef. It was a Saturday night and there were only 2 other small tables in the place, and maybe 3 people at the bar, so no clear reason why everything was so slow. At these prices, especially in Penn Yan, you would expect better service. -Most of our party ordered the Bucher. I understand it can be tricky to plate 5 burgers at once, but for this price, you'd expect the burgers to not come out soggy on the bottom. With the fried egg, gravy, and melted cheese the burgers only had one texture (mushy) and a one-note, overly rich flavor. Really needs a fresh or acidic element to add textural contrast and cut through the fat. The fries lacked seasoning, we needed to add more salt. -There was a surprise $15 credit card charge, which was not posted on their website or menus. We only saw it when it appeared on the final bill. While credit card surcharges aren't unheard of, in NY state they need to be posted ahead of time. Legality aside, hitting customers with a surprise charge at an upscale place like this is honestly tacky.

I joked with my wife and daughter about the axiom.... "Never dine at a restaurant on a Monday…read morebecause nothing is fresh!" Sort of came true. Ordered a side Caesar salad (no Croutons as I'm Gluten Intolerant.) Romaine lettuce was lifeless, old and a lot with that browned edge look. Dressing was lifeless. Just shouldn't have been served. Ordered the Short Rib and it was not a good choice. Served over a potato purée with pickled peppers (which turned out to be Jalapeños and very spicy.) Short rib was very dry and the whole dish was crying for some kind of jus, or gravy or some kind of moisture. Daughter had the scallop special which she said was okay but when she was done she had a pile of bacon lardons she didn't care for. Wife had the salmon and it was the best of the three entrees Decor was beautiful. Nicely decorated and loved all the Penn Yan boat pictures as I grew up in that era when a Penn Yan lapstrake was the boat to have. View is delightful. It was rainy but imagine sitting on that deck out back would be wonderful in good weather. Not sure we'd return and if we did we would stick with the apps and drinks. Menu execution and quality of cooking need improvement. Kitchen and food need to up their game to match the beautiful decor and view.

We each had a drink and I believe we split steamed dumplings and all was good on that trip. In fact, we were elated to find the place because it had a good vibe and seemed nice and we decided we would return in nicer weather. We returned the last weekend of May and stayed inside this visit also. The place was empty when we arrived. We sat against the glass wall facing the water. My wife noticed that a bunch of tables were dirty as were the windows. They are very large windows to enjoy the waterway but when mixed with the dirty tables, it causes one to wonder. We ordered drinks and food. The drinks were excellent. I ordered the pork dumplings and empenadas and my wife got the special which was a smoked turkey hoagey. The dumplings were excellent once again. The empenadas were tasty but seriously light on filling. And her turkey sandwich was terrible. She asked for it deconstructed because she didnt want the hoagy roll. She ate most of the insides of it but couldnt get through the turkey. I generally serve as her garbage disposal and if she doesnt finish something, she pawns it off on me. I can eat just about anything but this was not chewable. I am not sure what to call it. It tasted delicious, as smoked turkey does, but the gristle/ fat or whatever it was, couldnt get chewed enough to even try to swallow it. It had to be a 1 to 1.5 oz clump of unchewable stuff (for lack of a proper term). So needless to say, we wont be back. Bottom line, drinks were excellent, some food was good, some borderline worth the cost and some terrible. To us, it was a waste of $100+ with tip
