The waitress was more worried about the other tables with only men at them. They put way too much seasoning on the kids fries they couldn't eat them and where rude when we asked to see the manager. Who was even more rude and did nothing to fix the problem. Will never eat there again. read more

The food is over priced. On many occasions I have got raw chicken served to me, so I never ever order that. Their Tuna Steaks are great however thats not enough to make me wanna come back often. Wagon Master has an excellent staff friendly and courteous the prices are reasonable but to me the food is ok nothing to brag about.

Wagon Disaster. I came here for the first time on Friday night. I was with my boyfriend and a few of his friends.The inside of this place is disgusting. The floor is covered with peanut shells, and the walls covered with writing. I get it; it's not supposed to be a nice steak house, but that type of stuff is really off-putting to me. We had to wait a while to be seated since it was relatively crowded (not sure why though). I ordered a dirty martini, and our waitress brought me back a glass barely half full. I took a sip and I am almost sure that it was straight olive juice. I told her it wasn't good, and she brought me back another one but charged me for both. After about 30 minutes of waiting, we had to ask another waiter for rolls. I use the term rolls loosely. They were more like butter sponges...gross. Our waitress finally decided to take our order. Since I don't like steak, I just ordered the boneless wings. My boyfriend ordered the wings as well, and his friends all got steaks. While we were waiting for our food, I noticed the woman at the table across from me was picking at her chicken. She then told the waitress that it was not done, and she refused to pay for it. I wouldn't think anything of this, except I have read previous reviews stating that many people have received undercooked chicken that was still pink. About 40 minutes later, we got our food. It was no longer crowded so I'm not really sure why we had to wait that long. The wings were pretty good, but it's kind of hard to mess up wings. Two of my boyfriend's friends ordered the same steak, bacon & mashed potato dinner and each got something that looked different. The cook had given them a more expensive steak that what they had ordered. One also did not receive the bacon that came with it. When they told our waitress the problem with their food, she acted like she didn't know anything about it. Instead of sending anything back in fear of it taking another 40 minutes, they just ate it and asked they pay for what they ordered and not a more expensive steak. This has to be one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. If this place were in any other city, it would be shut down immediately. I will never come here again. read more

I went there after my grandfather's funeral. There were quite a few of us, we come from a large family l, and there was a HUGE mistake made. They "accidentally" took I've 200.00 from my account, and couldn't put it back on my card. When I called them, rightfully upset, they were Rude snd had absolutely no empathy. Food is sub standard and rhe salads came out with brown lettuce and none of the steaks were cooked correctly. My suggestion is to drive the 20 extra miles and go to Cecil's in Deridder. This place is pretty dang good. A lot better than chilis. Chilis service here is the worst. The food is really good, service is a 10, beer is cold and waitress's are cordial. Place should definitely be higher than 2 stars. I would say 3.5 to 4 stars. I travel and eat many places and this is by far the best in town and around. Don't go to chilis!!!!!! After debating between eating in Leesville and going to Deridder, my husband and I decided on Wagon Master. We were seated fairly quickly, but that was the only thing that was quick. First off we waited about 10-15 min just to get drinks, mind you we had a toddler with us, then waited another 10 min to order, and then what seemed like a lifetime to finally get our food. I ordered a steak and was VERY specific when I told the waitress I wanted well done. After waiting another lifetime to get our food, the steak came out still mooing (ew!), and when I finished gagging because I can NOT eat my steak like that, I started searching for the waitress to let her know. Well since most of the waitresses were towards the back laughing and flirting with a table of boys, she clearly didn't notice how I was trying to get her attention. After I finished my sides and my family finished their food, she finally made her way back to the table. I explained the situation and that I was completely turned off by steak now and would rather have some chicken strips instead. Mistake! When those were finally brought out, it was about two hours of sitting down in the restaurant and at that point I was just ready to leave. I didn't even take it to go because I was so over this experience. I WOULD not recommend eating here until the wait staff gets a little bit of training, and the food comes up to par. read more

I've had wonderful food and good service, but more often than not I've had horrible food and horrible service ranging anywhere from inattentive to snippy waitresses to rancid steak, food poisoning, and even a fly in my tea. I normally don't complain after working in the industry myself, but my experiences here have been horrible. Today we waited nearly ten minutes just for a server to take our drink order...all the while we watched several of the staff stand around in groups, playing on their phone and twirling their hair. I sent back two water glasses because of debris floating around before I even touched my drink. I had to ask for my dinner salad (that came with the meal) twice and it eventually came out well after my rubbery steak did. Thanks, but we won't be back. By the way, $10 for a burger?? I have been here before and the food was good. Not great. Today I had lunch here and I don't know if they just hired a new cook or what. It wasn't good. I ordered grilled shrimp and 8 oz sirloin. I ordered the sirloin medium and it came out medium rare, which I can deal with but my first bite I had to chew for a whole minute. Not tender at all. The grilled shrimp.....I think the cook added all the salt that was in the kitchen to them. Baked potato...loaded was very good. Will I go back? Probably one day. I went there this afternoon and found a BUG in my food. The "management" never apologized for what happened and only offered me 50% off my meal. When I contested this she got an attitude which resulted in a scene. My husband and I usually go there because it is one of the only places to go. The food is not that great and the service is hit miss, usually resulting in miss. After what happened today I will NEVER eat there again. This is a nice locally owned restaurant in Leesville, LA. If you ever been to Ft. Polk, you know that there are not a lot of options, so with that being said, WagonMaster is a breathe of fresh air. I've visited this location several times previously, and each time I've had a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is similar to Roadhouse or Logan's, with the peanuts on the floor, wooden picnic style tables. I've had steak, fish, and ribs, all have been great. I really enjoy the rolls that are brought to the table with dinner. I think that this is a great choice for a dinner with friends or a date, they offer a small bar area and outdoor seating. If in Leesville I would recommend checking this restaurant out. read more

I've been here three times in the last three years. The first time wasn't so bad - I think we were relieved that there was a family restaurant in Leesville. Bar was crowded with the usuals, I presume, since we came on a Weekday. They have TVs that play ESPN, or any of the games. Server here is inconsistent - sometimes they're friendly, fast, and outgoing, and at other times, slow, slow, and slow. One time, our steak was cold -- I mean, how long did it wait on the 'hot' bar to get picked up? I can't rate this place too low. The steaks are decent and the beer is cold, but the service is slow, especially at the bar. The parking is frankly idiotic, all going one way, so that if you choose a lane with no parking, you get one pass, then have to exit the lot, go a quarter mile down the highway, make a u-turn, come back, go past the restaurant, make another u-turn, then hope you find a spot the next try, else risk having to do it all again. The people complaining of spotty service are right on. I went here a few years ago with my sister-in-law, and it wasn't too bad ... Compared to even the "chain" steakhouses Wagon Master food falls way short. It's sad that this is one of the few places to eat in Leesville, because if it weren't i'm sure the restaurant would close. And if its not the food that disappoints you than the service surely will, waitresses are usually un-attentitive to couples and spend most of their time sucking the tips out of the groups of military men that dine there. The place has such great potential, and in 2005 when I first came to the area it wasn't a bad place to eat, but since then it's slowly slid into being a shithole. In the interest of saying something positive first, I will say that the rolls that are offered are very good. Also, the burgers are extremely well made, though like everything else, they are overpriced. The issue with this restaurant lies in the fact that it represents itself as a Steak House. I have attempted to stomach two steaks from this place, and they were some of the worst I have ever tried. Both times. the meat was chewy and not well prepared. Anywhere other than Leesville, this place would not still exist. This would be proven if any decent franchise steak house would move into the area. I might go back, just out of necessity, but this is not a place I would go if there were any other options. To end on a positive note, this is the best steak house in Leesville. My husband and I went to Wagon Master today after being away to care for a family member over the last 3 months. We got back this past week and today was our first opportunity in a long while to go out alone. It started off wrong when I requested a unsweetened tea but received sweet tea instead. When I informed the waitress, she quickly made the correction. I ordered the Cactus Chicken for my entree, sweet potato as my side and a side salad. After receiving my meal, I attempted to cut into my chicken and it was very hard to cut. I told my husband that I was having problems cutting the chicken & finally had to pull it apart using the fork. I tasted it and it was very tough. My husband thought it may have been just one section so I tried cutting in to another portion of the chicken and it was still tough. I had him to try it as well as my trying it again. He agreed it was very tough and inedilble. When the waitress came back over to check on us, I told her that the chicken was very tough and that I didn't want it. She took it back and returned the sweet potato that I had ordered as a side. Never once did I receive an apology from the server or management for serving a meal that was inedible. We were also charged full price for the sweet potato and side salad. Nevertheless, we paid the charges and made sure the server received a tip. I have never been to a restaurant where management didn't address a problem with the meal. My husband and I were very disappointed with service today we will not be going back there in the future. My recommendation to the server is to make sure that management knows that there is a problem with their customer's meal. My recommendation to the management is that you make sure to check on a dissatisfied customer to make sure you don't lose their business and possibly the business of anyone that they may have referred or brought to eat there in the future. read more

Brought receipt back showed charged us for 13 but charged the service charge for 14. Then said it would be ready by the time we got back to pick up meal. Had to wait another 15 minutes. After 10 minutes drink order. 30 minutes later steak comes but still no salad. Salad comes and was Punty and pathetic could have just let it go. Steak way over cooked. When asked why we couldn't sit there & wait, I was told the kitchen was backed up & we'd have to wait at the front area. It took almost ten minutes before a waitress came and asked us if we wanted something to drink. Se of the guys ordered draft beers which didn't come out until the food did. The waitress told us this was because the bartender was backed up. When the steaks came out they were over cooked. For example if it was supposed to be medium rare it was medium and the medium steaks were well done. They were also pricey for what you get.
