I think there's better places in Leesville. There food has never been great. If you need a nice drink the have some good speciality drinks.

Your basic burger joint/bar. The service is very inconsistent which is really disappointing. I think they need to train their waitresses on service. If you're looking for a casual night out with your buddies, you'd probably like this place. It always seems to be busy. We don't frequent here, though. Went here with a group of eight people. The service was O.K. but not spectacular. I had the half slab of ribs and grilled shrimp combo. Not too bad. The sauce on the ribs was plentiful and more Texas sweet than South Carolina vinegar. The meat fell off the bone. The rib eye next to me looked pretty eatable and the corn on the cob side actually looked pretty good. Rolls are good (like Texas Road House) but the prices are a little high for what you get. we had confirmed reservations for a large group a few days prior to our visit and were told there would be a booth in the back reserved for us. we arrived on time to our reservation and were told there was no booth for us....and that they "didn't take reservations" at all. but yet they have a list of names for people who call ahead and tell people on the phone that reservations are confirmed? should probably make sure all employees are aware of your reservation policies...anyways, we ended up having to wait nearly an hour to be seated. once we were finally seated, the service was incredibly slow, and drinks were forgotten several times. I understand it was a large group but after what happened previously it was frustrating. Also, literally 8 of the steaks were overcooked....not even slightly, I'm talking people had ordered medium rare and received medium well. we had been there so long we decided not to complain. I've been here 4 times and only once have they gotten my steak cooked correctly. Ordered some shots for a few of us and they came out in tiny plastic sauce cups...not even in shot glasses....which for the price is ridiculous. in total we spent about 2.5 hours here for a poor experience. we were thinking maybe we'd get a discount for the horrendous service but yet there was nothing done to compensate. read more

Steaks, grilled shrimp, blackened redfish are the best dishes. Salads are good. Kids pizza is just a microwaved personal pizza you can buy at walmart. This place is more about adult food and is great. The rolls are so so good. Full bar, lots of seating, private parking lot. You can throw peanuts in the floor and draw on the walls. If you get a bad waitress it can be aggravating so I always get a seasoned waitress. read more

My first visit to this place was not impressive. There are not many restaurants here in the Fort Polk/Leesville area but this place was one I have been wanting to try out. My experience here was not what I expected. This is one of the better designed restaurants in the area. It's got a theme, it's put together well, and you can kinda eat outside. It's like a Lonestar or Roadhouse. The service was also very good here, so kudos for that. Things turned bad when we waited an hour for our food. On top of that the fries my dad and me had were lukewarm and tasted and felt like they had been sitting around for a while. My wife didn't like the mashed potatoes and my moms shrimp pasta was so cold we had to tell them to reheat it, which took an extra 15 mins. They were also out of all their appetizers except for one. The topper, this place wasn't even that busy, as in not even half the seats in the house were full. Pros - Good environment/decor, good service, kept up on refills and checking on us Cons - Food took ridiculously long to get, fries were cold/stale, shrimp pasta was stone cold, mashed potatoes not that good, reheating the food took 15 mins, they were out of all their appetizers except for mozzarella sticks. read more

Wagon master is the best you will get in leesville, which isn't saying much. The food is good for the value, the staff is friendly (wouldn't say the best service, but at least friendly). It is a very nice casual environment also. The negative? Being a return customer I notice the quality varies in service and food quality more than it should, never poor quality, just not always excellent. read more

This restrant is such a hard place to rate. One day the food is awesome and yummy! Then the next, they are trying to feed you frozen salad and they put you on hold when trying to speak to the manager(to go order) and no one ever picks up. I guess it's like playing Russian roulette. I'm in Leesville a fair amount for business and usually eat at the Wagonmaster which has become a home away from home for me. I am usually by myself so I sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders who are always real friendly. When I have sat at a table, I have never had bad service. The food is excellent. They usually start you off with fresh rolls which are a biscuit/soft roll hybrid. Very tasty. I usually order something from the grill. They obviously have a very good, well-seasoned grill and have a great grillmaster. I recommend the grilled chicken, burgers (served with an above average bun) and steaks. I have never tried the ribs. I also have ordered and enjoyed the bacon wrapped shrimp and the Caesar salad. They have a good but small beer selection, a weak wine selection and a limited spirits selection. NB If you order a glass of wine and it has turned (which has happened to me more than once), ask the bartender to open a fresh bottle. They are always happy to do so. read more

Just arrived at Fort Polk since options are limited, my wife and I decided to try WagonMaster We were warned by some on post that it wasn't very good. That was an understatement. My wife is a server so we both have a very good understanding of what service should be like. After we were sat, the wait got long so I started to pay attention to time. 16 minutes went by before we got greeted and asked for drinks. I asked the waitress who our server was supposed to be and she had no clue. Another 12 minutes went by before our order was taken. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and my wife, the sampler platter. Our food took 28 minutes to get to us. The biscuits were horribly dry that I had to douse with butter. This place was dirty, inexperienced bad servers. We saw them chatting with one another in the back while waiting. The table next to us ending up just leaving after no service was offered for 23 minutes. I will definitely not be going back to this place and I will tell every person I know and meet on Fort Polk to not support them with Soldiers hard earned money. The customer service was ok, our waitress was very attentive and she was quick with her drink refills. The timing of our appetizers arriving was very pleasing as well, but our meals left A LOT to be desired. There is no excuse for 3 people to get served at the table and have one waiting 5+ extra minutes for their food. My family members were 1/3 of the way through with their food before I received mine. When I received my steak, the fat to meat ratio left a lot to be desired also. Half way through eating, I noticed that the fat on the steak was starting to take over. This is not something that a customer expects when eating at a restaurant that labels themselves as a "steak house". I would consider this establishment a place that serves great dinner rolls and the occasional ok meal. We had a great waitress but can't say the food was that great! I ordered the Wagonmaster Burger with French fries. The French fries were not hot and were more on the cold side. The top part of my bun had pickles and a tomato on it that were obviously not drained well. The top part of my bun turned to mush while eating and ended up being uneatable three bites in. The service was quick and cheerful, the rolls were textbook "Homemade" and superior to what you'd see in a chain restaurant. I had the burger & fries which were hearty, tasteful, and served up quickly. Wagon Disaster has been around for a long time giving soldiers and locals mediocre service. Management and staff have have always treated guests with sub-standard hospitality because they could.... We have been to this restaurant in the past and had a good meal. We visited there today and it was not a good experience. We were seated and we waited and waited. I finally went back to the hostess stand to let her know we had not been helped. She said how sorry she was and took our drink order. She brought our drinks that were hot and had no ice in them. My husband asked for ice and was brought at max 10 cubes. Again, we sat and sat. After twenty minutes we finally got up and left. As we left we let the hostess know we had left money for the tea but we were leaving. We were sad because we had enjoyed eating here in the past. We were very patient but when we saw all the other tables being filled and waited on our patience began to wear thin. read more
