We were on our way to a class and stopped real quick to grab a bite. My daughter got the Reuben sandwich which she really enjoyed. At first she thought that it didn't look like a lot of meat but it was satisfying. The fries were fried well and were good. My sandwich was huge but I was disappointed with the steak. I was expecting something like roast beef but it was more like an overcooked steak-um. Remember those from way back! If you don't, then you're lucky. My mom used to make them for me. The service was slow for a deli especially since we were the only ones there placing an order. The girl at the counter was nice. The ambiance is fine for a deli. Don't waste your time. The service is honestly horrible, the place itself looks like they are closing for good any day. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and it took over 25 minutes to get. I tried ordering their "special"chili cheese dogs and ended up not even taking them because they chili was dry and black from being burnt and the "cheese" was the fake single packaged cheese. This place has gone so down hill over the past couple years it's insane. The prices are ridiculous and the food quality just isn't there anymore. Don't bother going to this overpriced deli for a few reasons. Recently visited wagon wheel and I have not been in there in probably 2 years. Now I remember why. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese and a roast beef /cheddar. Read below for my experience. The good: the roll was fresh. The bad: everything else. 1. I asked for rare roast beef, and it is clearly medium well. I told the nice girl up front I did not want it if it wasn't rare. The sandwich is also so overly salted I can hardly choke it down. 2. I was charged $6 for a single egg bacon and cheese. Who do they think they are charging two or three dollars more than every other deli in the area??. I can't comment on how it tasted, but I can tell you one thing, I will never go back to this deli. When I questioned the price, the girl, instead of getting Mike the owner and potentially avoiding this negative review, just apologized and said oh "we're sorry." Very poor business, customer service, and disappointed in the food. There are much better choices right up the road, and certainly right across the bridge there are fantastic places to eat. Came in one Saturday to order two sandwiches. After almost 25 minutes and questions like "what is on an Italian sub?" from the girl working behind the counter, the phone rings. Without taking off her gloves, answers the phone. That's fine. Hangs up the phone, touches a pen and paper and then tries to make my sandwiches all with those same gloves? Not fine. I used to work here an i can assure you it does not take 30 minutes to make a ham, bacon and cheese sub, but it sure did when I ordered it. There also was 2 single thing slices of cheese with the normal amount of ham. the sandwiches are always good quality with amazing bread, I just can't order from here anymore when I have plans with the hour. read more

I am so surprised to read negative reviews. I love the small town atmosphere. I am very fussy about my food. I have never had anything from this place that I have not been satisfied with. I read that someone wanted their food faster. This is not a fast food restaurant but if you are in a rush order ahead. I had a great experience with the staff; a nice young lady named Jessica was more than accommodating, pleasant and got our order correct. She also delivered the food!! Nice girl. Anyway, we loved the food. The veggie Stromboli was fantastic. The pizza was well dressed with all the toppings we asked for - could have had a bit more red sauce on it but it still tasted great! This place seriously makes the best cheese steaks in the area. The wings were okay - they could have used more sauce on them; they were pretty dry. This place is a hit or miss. Mostly miss. Living in Highland you don't have many choices. Especially when it comes to an after hours deli so I've given this place more chances than I should of. The pizza is horrible. Fresh salad bar is great. Burgers are over cooked and dry. They have the worst fries I've ever had. The calazones and strombolies are really good because their made fresh, but are lacking in the quantity of ingredients. The chicken Cesar wrap is all wrap, a few pieces of dry chicken, bad dressing and stale croutons. I can honestly say I've had a lot of different food from here and 85% I would never buy again. Pretty good wings. Decent subs. Pizza stinks. They are to shady when they ring you up at the register. Always nickel and diming you. You have to watch the workers that ring you up. Keep the menu in front of and check your receipt. Its a shame because they have the ability to go to the next level but they never will because of the stuff I afore mentioned.
