Our server was named Gia and she was so sweet and welcoming! Gia was also attentive and helpful so my brother and I really appreciated the great service. We enjoyed the food from the meat to the sides, especially because we are big wagyu lovers! I liked the ambiance and decorations on the inside too, so cute!

We visited this place with the family. The store is smaller than the other chubby restaurants but it was intimate for the family to cook up some wagyu. Our server Gia was friendly and helped us cook up some of the dishes we ordered. There is a 3min cool down for ordering more food. We polished off lots of meat and rice. Had a great experience eating at this restaurant. I also joined the chubby club to take advantage of the various promotions in the chubby food group.

my friends and i stopped by here on a sunday evening because we were craving beef, and we had an overall pretty good and gluttonous experience at this location! we waited about 40 minutes to get seated because there were only about 2-3 waiters running around and tending to all the tables. you order everything through a tablet here rather than self serve like the other locations, so there is a bit of a wait from the waiters bringing out the dishes. shoutout to our server talia for being so quick and attentive for our party of 4 ordering so many things! since it was a weekend, we got the premium menu by default and were able to try out most of the dishes! aside from all the endless wagyu, we also tried the other dishes like sashimi and hand rolls. the fish were all surprisingly super fresh and yummy, and i was enjoying these as much as the beef! speaking of the beef, we ordered SO much wagyu that we ended up feeling sick from how fatty the meat was LOL but it was all very good quality meat. the only thing i really did not enjoy from here was the egg tart, which came out cold and soggy and the custard tasted more like scrambled egg. would not get that again, but would come back for the meats!

This place was decent. It's my first time at a place that serves all you can eat Wagyu beef. We made a reservation for a weeknight and they were able to accommodate our party of 7. Our waitress explained the menu to us, but that was about it. We didn't really hear from them again and had questions, but gave up halfway through the meal. The food was decent. It reminds me of Korean bbq, but with Wagyu beef. I also got a Wagyu slider, which was okay, but stick to the meat so you don't fill up on carbs. The inside does feel as but cramped, but the night we went had no big crowds and no long waits. I don't mind trying this again, but I'm told chubby cattle is better so I'll have to try chubby cattle before I decide which of the two is better.

It was our first time dining at a Chubby Group restaurant and our server Gia let us know about joining the Chubby membership which will let you have a discounted member price for meals across all Chubby group restaurants and also on your birthday you get credit for a free meal. We came to celebrate my 2 boys' graduation and they are teenage boys who love meat. The wagyu beef selection was amazing and the meat quality was really good. The Wagyu beef toro literally melted in our mouth. I'm not sure if it's full service or not but our server Gia was so sweet she cooked for us most of the time. I really liked the sesame cold tofu and the house salad. We got the premium plan which came with unlimited soda and dessert we can order egg tart, cake rolls and ice cream. My boys definitely ate their money's worth!

Had the best experience at Wagyu Factory. We opted for the select menu with member discount on Thursday night after son's promotion ceremony to celebrate as my boys love Wagyu. So many great cuts of Wagyu & burger, enjoyed sashimi, fries, wings, chicken karage, spinach side, corn cheese. 90 minutes, 6 orders each time wait of 3 min. In between. Service was amazing by Talia & food runners. It was quiet enough in a booth for a lovely conversation. Enjoyed several servings of ice cream. Thank you so much!!!

Made a reservation on Yelp - highly recommend. Was able to sit about a 5min wait. Everything is ordered off the iPad, no snack bar like chubby cattle. Duncan our server was solid, and very fast. We ordered a bunch and he helped clear the dishes promptly. Hits A5 ootoro, fatty melts in your mouth 5/5 Argentina shrimp- huge shrimp! And delicious 5/5 Scallops garlic noodles 4/5 Wagyu Bibimpab 4/5 Misses: Unagi, i recommend grilling as it comes cold and semi hard 3/5 Shrimp tempura-too much breading 3/5 Match green tea ice cream 3/5 not a strong matcha flavor more like a vanilla Egg tart 2/5 pastry itself was stale custard We also ordered a bunch more and would note that items don't come in order so it's a little hard to remember what you're missing. The iPad helps though since you can see what you ordered

Wagyu Factory is a high end AYCE wagyu BBQ spot and is part of the Chubby Cattle group of restaurants. This location is similar to how a Korean BBQ place operates. Ordering is done strictly through an IPad or communicated to one's server. One is allowed to order 6 items at a time, and then must wait 3 minutes before ordering any more. They have 2 menu options: Select ($50 - limited meat options and only available on weekday lunches) and Premium ($70). Premium Wagyu ($70) - This option included quite a few cuts of M9 beef (Australia's highest standard, and options included ribeye, short rib, wagyu steak, top blade). However the best beef options were the A5 wagyu brisket and A5 wagyu ootoro. Both were extremely thin and had so much flavor and I would recommend getting those exclusively! It only took 2 seconds for these cuts to cook on the grill on each side. There were veggie options to choose from including salads, edamame, kimchi, zucchini, potato, mushrooms, etc. Other items included: sashimi, suchi, handrolls, takoyaki, calamari, chicken kaarage, shrimp tempura, dumplings, and so much more. For dessert their matcha ice cream was excellent as well as their egg custard tarts. Overall service was outstanding here, and the quality of items and options were great! This is probably the best Chubby Cattle restaurant I have tried. Pricing is fair for the quality of meats and options that they offer.

First time trying Wagyu Factory BBQ, and we had a great experience! Our server, Talia, was attentive and very courteous, and the food came out quickly. We actually prefer the meat here over Chubby Cattle. Their dessert options are pretty decent as well. The chocolate green tea roll is my favorite. Another huge plus is that they have a great ventilation system, so you don't leave smelling like BBQ!

Wagyu Factory Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Wagyu Factory

    Do they cook your meat?

    No, you cook it yourself

    Can I make reservations?

Yes. You can make reservations via Yelp Reservations.

    How much is kids?

$69 without the membership for premium ayce, everyone at the table must have the same menu.

Is there a hot pot on the El Toro location?

Don't think they're set up for hot pot at this location. When we went, it was just bbq. I think the Tustin location is shabu shabu.

    Is this halal meat?

No this is not halal meat

Is this the same as V wagyu bbq? Not sure I see a sign that says Wagyu Factory.

It's under new ownership, they changed the name. It's the same location.

    What's the Pricing? Kids?

It was 69.99 per adult for the nicer menu. Not sure how much for kids. We did see children there.

My experience and meal was five star!…read moreThough, keep in mind that my five stars is based on dining here only once and not at peak hours. We arrived just after noon on a weekday. The restaurant wasn't busy and we were seated right away. The vibe inside was authentic feeling Japanese style, smallish with several tables and sushi bar seating. My chicken oyakodon was a bowl of cozy comfort to me. It was topped with two slices of yellow pickled daikon. I'm sure it was homemade daikon, not like what you get in a jar from Tokyo Central. We were served their delicious miso soup as a starter. My sister ordered beef teriyaki and tempura. She said it was good. The restaurant started filling up as we ate our meal. A good sign of good authentic Japanese is when you see a lot of Japanese/Asians filling up the place, especially older people (haha, like me), because you know they know well prepared authentic. And that's the crowd that was coming in. Located in a busy center with limited parking, it must get crazy busy later in the evening because the sign outside the entrance says where to form the line. Anyway, my oyakodon and miso soup was so good!

I really felt like a Bento box. Got the shrimp temp. with 3 vegs, miso soup, salad and rice. Ordered hot tea (tea bag in cup with "free refills of WATER" if needed - lol). Found out I'm not crazy about Oolong tea. Shrimp were very anemic, skinny, much more Tempura batter than shrimp. Veggies were more generous in the slices. Served with the usual dipping broth. This was a first and hard to believe: The dipping sauce was refrig. cold - terrible when dipping a hot shrimp in a cold liquid. When I flagged her down, she asked if I wanted it microwaved. I did. Eaten this a 1000 times and NEVER has been served with frigid broth. She acted as though this was their norm. When I took a bite of the just lettuce salad - the dressing !! was loaded with wasabi; again - another anomaly for me. I don't like wasabi. I asked her if it had wasabi in the dressing and she didn't know nor offer an alternative. A few pickled cuke slices were included with the dinner and they were fine and fresh-looking. Rice, of course. Miso soup was overly salty with 2-3 miniscule cubes of tofu & a couple small pieces of sea weed. Bathroom was clean. I won't return, sadly. Expected better for $23 - just not up to par.

I don't think many restaurants offers cold soba option so if you never tried it, here is the probably the best place in south OC to give it a shot. This restaurant is located in a large plaza so there are plenty parking. The wait is usually not long at all. I have been here a few times with my family during lunch and dinner and it is never that packed. I think it is located in a pretty secluded area so it is not busy but the food is very good. The decor is simple but clean and has many tables. This most recent visit I ordered the marinated beef hot udon and my daughter ordered the Kakiage cold udon. I didn't know what Kakiage is so the staff kindly educated me that it is a ball of Tempura vegetables. Please don't mix it up with Karaage which is Fried Chicken. They are two different dishes. The broth of my beef udon is deep with umami flavor. The soup base has a legit dashi flavor, not the instant udon flavor. You can tell the difference right away. We also ordered the grill squid. The grill squid is tender and has a unique tastes like the dried squid snacks that I get from the Japanese market. The staff even offered hot water for my daughter's left over dipping sauce. She mixed her dipping sauce with hot water to drink it as a soup. Overall the food is great and we'll definitely be back for more.

It's been a few years since our last visit because we moved away, and we were looking forward to today's visit...total let down. No more restaurant dining. All take outs only and in disposable bowls/containers. You can sit inside or outside. I understand during the pandemic why this was necessary but should be fine to return to normal operation at this point. So much garbage created with all the one-time-use stuff. Most people opt to dine in so makes no sense to have so much trash. And the indoor table was sticky. I know this is now a take out only place so diners have to clear their own plates... but we were the first group sitting down at our table when the restaurant opened...shouldn't the tables be cleaned initially before starting the day's operation? The biggest letdown...food. For a place that used to pride itself in freshly made udon and soba, these two dishes were terribly average. They might have used diluted soba tsuyu for the dipping sauce...it is not the full flavored version but tasted rather watered down in order the fill the larger takeout cup. The soup for nabeyaki also tasted bland, not as flavorful as their old broth. I think I could make a better broth using udon powder packets from grocery store. The rice dishes like katsu-don and prime beef steak were ok. Now the beloved Fukada feels like a generic food court stall. Of course it's still popular but the food is not the same.

Everyone looked happy and seemed to be enjoying their food and the restaurant gives off a cute little mom and pop vibe (not entirely sure if it's family run). The food was absolutely delicious AND it's affordable! The yellowtail here was so tender and everything tasted fresh. We will be coming back!!

Very disappointing experience…read more I want to be clear that I did not get a chance to try the food, so this review is strictly about the customer service and ordering experience. I spent about 25 minutes trying to place a takeout order through their website, but it kept giving me problems and I couldn't get to the payment screen. I called the restaurant, explained the issue politely, and asked if I could simply place the order over the phone. I was told they only accept orders through the website and there was nothing they could do to help. Since I was nearby, I decided to drive to the restaurant and order in person. I explained again that the website wasn't working and that I already knew exactly what I wanted to order. They still refused to take my takeout order and told me they were "first come, first served" and that the employee needed to take care of the customers at the tables. What made this even more frustrating was that this is a very small restaurant with around 10 tables, and only about half of them were occupied. Most of those customers already had food in front of them. At that point, after trying online, calling, and physically driving to the restaurant, I simply left. I understand having an ordering policy, but when your own website isn't working, there should be some reasonable way to help a customer who is actively trying to give you business. Unfortunately, there was zero effort to find a solution. Extremely disappointing experience and customer service.

My coworker had told me about this spot and I'm glad I tried it!…read more After a mile run, me and my husband decided to get dinner here. We were greeted by Steve. Very friendly, attentive, and a busy bee! It was nice to see regulars there for dinner as well. Food was great. I got their Caribbean roll and Lover roll. Both very big sizes and delicious. We'll definitely come back again! Thanks for a nice first dining experience Sashimi team!

A little disappointed. I'm usually not one to leave negative reviews, especially for Japanese…read morerestaurants, but I feel like they have potential to do better -- which is why I wanted to leave an honest review. FYI -- no photos because we were busy with a cranky toddler. First, the service was genuinely great. The sweetest lady helped us with the menu and served our food, and we really appreciated her kindness. We were also given complimentary edamame, which was thoughtful, although it was bland, dry, and cold -- almost like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while. Since it was complimentary, we didn't think too much of it. For the mains, we ordered the beef teriyaki and chicken teriyaki bento specials. Unfortunately, both proteins were sliced extremely thin. The chicken especially had a jerky-like texture, and both the chicken and beef lacked flavor. After reading other reviews, they had similar experience. The teriyaki sauce itself was also pretty bland. The tempura was okay, but the tempura dipping sauce tasted watered down and lacked the usual savory depth you'd expect. The one standout was the roll topped with salmon and avocado with spicy tuna inside. It was presented beautifully and tasted fresh and well-balanced. Based on this, I honestly think rolls are what they do best. I really hope they improve the preparation and seasoning of the chicken and beef because it was a major turnoff -- and this is coming from someone who eats pretty much everything. It's hard to justify paying around $22 for a bento when the main protein feels flavorless and insubstantial. With so many good Japanese resto in Lake Forest, I would skip this until the proteins are fixed.
