I love fish tacos but I didn't go to Wahoo's for that. I don't know what I was thinking. Instead, I got the Maui bowl with spicey Mahi Mahi (I think), brown rice, and black beans. It was good. I like how the brown rice isn't hard or too soft. It didn't taste like cardboard and I believe it was cooked in chicken broth..that or the black beans were. The spice level of the fish was not that great. I thought it was going to be chili(ish) but no, I didn't even need water. I chose not to get the teriyaki because I'm not a fan of sweet sauces so I guess the spice was the better choice for me. It was a little pricy, but overall worth it. Wahoos is amazing. I have this thing where I can not eat at the same place frequently with very few exceptions. Wahoos, Select Peruvian restaurants, and flame broiler are the only ones on that list. The food is great and healthy. It can be a little expensive, especially if you are buying a lot of tacos a la cart. Each one is over $2 so when I buy 4 or 5, I am spending about $12 on tacos only! Banzai bowl is my favorite. No beans, brown rice and Grilled fish is AMAZING, filling and only about 600 calories. Glad I started coming here a few months back. Clean establishment, friendly service, nice bathrooms. There isn't that much to complain about. Except for the fact that you're paying for really bland food. I tried to fix this one time by getting the meat as the spicy version and that didnt work. Next time I came in i asked for it "Really really really really spicy." and the cashier said "really really really really spicy?" and i confirmed, "really really really really spicy." She explained how they would make it spicy. It was not spicy. At all. I mean seriously, i know i'm not dead on the inside cause when i get spicy thai or indian food its spicy, but... i don't know, at this point i'd rather just go pay a dollar and eat a stick of butter or something. But if you're into mild and consistent food, this is your place. Easy to park, kinko's right next door, you can make some copies or something while you're waiting. read more

So everyone knows about the food and the prices. I'll share the unique aspects of this particular location. First is parking. As you pull in from Harbor, you'll see a parking lot "reserved" for the bank. I've always parked here bc the only other place is a parking structure where the nearby apartment complex residents park. I am not sure if wahoos customers can park in there. Also, know that there are limited spaces in the banks parking lot. Once inside you'll find that the restaurant layout is basically a center where the cashier is located and 2 wings of dining area. TVs are peculiarly located in one of the wings and its rather difficult to get a good view. Plus the tvs are too small. Bathroom is tiny like any wahoos. Lastly, it seems they like onions here so your salsa will have more onion than you might be accustomed to. read more

I forget how good Wahoo's is sometimes! I try to avoid fast food / major chains but this place is definitely better than average. I've been eating at this location for more than five years and what really stands out is the quality of their food and the service. Every experience has been nothing but pleasant so my review is long over due. My order has always been the Banzai burrito smothered with their yummy cilantro sauce. I was proud of myself yesterday cuz I actually ordered something different. Well kinda. I got the Wafu bowl, which is the Banzai veggies and tofu, rice, and choice of black or white beans. Both beans are good but I love me some black beans. I got the brown rice and it was cooked well. The best part was the tofu. It wasn't fried to hell nor did it fall apart. Fast and attentive service. The servers pleasantly ask if there's anything else you need even after multiple refills of salsa and I doubt people tip these guys. Good job Wahoo's! read more

I think the people that praised this place is completely insane. That's just me though.. shhhh. To begin, I ordered the shrimp taco and enchilada! I loveeeee enchiladas. nom nom nom! The cashier guy taking our order seemed to be in a rush, no smile, just a little hip attitude. Oh well! Who cares I was hungry, anyways, I asked for beans and rice in my enchilada since I gave up meat.. he just kept saying okay okay.. ... um? okay? haha The food came out in less than 7 minutes! Great food at a reasonable price! This location is always kept clean, fast and courteous! I have been eating here for years and never think to review. Fish tacos mild: we order the combo and pick spicy white beans and white (brown available)rice. New slaw topping, hubby says it's good. I love #1 combo choosing one carnitas enchilada with red sauce, spicy white beans and white rice. Tortilla soup adding avocado is very filling and delish! (This is the same as 'fit soup' but cheaper!) My daughter loves their Black BEANS, and they have the BEST sweet onion rings. Covered Parking structure, pleating of spacious seating in restaurant (some wahoo's are cramped). This place is good if your short on time, food is quick. Wahoo's - always good for a filling, delicious, inexpensive meal that doesn't leave one feeling gross and overstuffed. I have been going to Wahoo's for probably 10 years now, and will review this location since it is the closest to me. I am in love with this Wahoo's staff - they are seriously the nicest staff of any restaurant I have been to (from $-$$$$), no lie. The place is always clean. The food is ALWAYS delicious and fresh. I usually stick with a 1-item combo plate, because the fish taco is easily made into two! Boom, life hack. You're welcome. White beans are where it's at, but they can be a little spicy. I always get a side of the green sauce and dump it over the rice - so good! The mushroom and shrimp tacos and enchiladas are also very, very nums. $6 for a very filling and delicious meal is not bad! I rate it a 4.5. Great service, relaxed atmosphere, and I love the food! Pretty cheap, I like to come here when I'm pretty hungry and it always does the trick. My newest favorite is the Wahoo's Bowl with the grilled mild fish W/ extra pico de gallo. Have always been pretty fond of their fish tacos (i order spicy). Their Banzai burrito is pretty great too packed with awesome grilled veggies. First time I came here they didnt have what I wanted then the 2nd time I come here I dont get what I wanted. When I ordered fish tacos I thought I was getting fried fish tacos but instead they give me grilled and the lady who took my order didnt even ask me of I was grilled or crispy all she ask is of I wanted spicy or none spicey. This Wahoo, while not as fun and funky as the one down in Huntington Beach, is a friendly and clean establishment with really good food. Even though Wahoo's is a "chain," it's one of the good ones. The staff are all smiles, friendly and efficient. They get you your food and then leave you alone. Nice. I like gettin' a tall, ice-cold brewsky and burrito, some rice & beans, and seeing how big & loud a belch I can muster. Makes the kiddies laugh. UUUUUUUURRRRRRPPP!!! Bravo! read more

I love Wahoos. I come here a lot with my family after church and its a really nice, non-greasy mexican restaurant. The black beans and rice are delicious (I swear there's crack in their rice or something because I'm addicted to its deliciousness!! nom~nom~nom~). They also have white beans and offer brown rice as alternaive side dishes (though I'm pretty sure the brown rice costs a little extra). As much as I love the rice and beans if you are looking for spmething a little lighter I recommend the spicy fish taco a la carte. In my opinion, the fish tacos are he best thing on the menu and i usually order two to get my fix :D but there are also other things on the menu that are very satisfying. For example, if you're absolutely starving there's a two enchilada combo (w/ rice and beans) that's sure to fill you up! The people that take orders and serve are always really nice and the food comes out pretty quickly even though the restaurant can get pretty crowded. When it comes to the building itself, the place is absolutely covered in stickers and skateboards and surfboards that give it a sporty, laid-back, casual atmosphere and there are a couple small tvs mounted on the walls but they aren't too loud or distracting so it's still possible to carry on a conversation at a comfortable volume. Tried this place out while our family was on a nice afternoon walk. Best costumer service ever! Fish taco is pretty good but I've had better. Also, just FYI, the fish is grilled and then chilled. Taco was kinda dry. I prefer the fried battered fish (warm lol). The loaded nachos, however, were awesome! Wahoo's is so good!!! I've been to five of them numerous times since the 90's: Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Tustin and Fullerton. Their food and their service have always been great and consistent across all of these locations. I have never had a bad experience at any of the locations. You can't go wrong with anything you order. My personal favorite is the two taco platter, Cajun Fish with seasoned white rice and Cajun white beans. At lunch hour, expect about a 10 minute wait to get your food. I put this review under their Fullerton location because it is the location I frequent the most. However, you can't go wrong at any of the locations I mentioned above. read more

So lent's began and I decided to order 2 shrimp burritos (for hubby and me) online so that I can pick them up for lunch and have time to hang out and relax with him during lunch. When you order online you have to give them at least 20 minutes for the order to be ready, so I ordered it at 11:40am and said it would be ready for pick up at 12:05pm. I received the email confirmation that says you don't have to wait in line you just walk up to the register that says Phone/Online Orders. I arrived at 12:15pm, I walked up and gave them my order # and the girl at the counter is not able to find my order, I pull up my confirmation on my phone to show her the confirmation with the 2 burritos. She says to me that she sees it there and that the order did come through but they never sent it to the kitchen!! Uuhhh... WTF? I already paid for it and I am on time restraint. (most people are at lunch) UGH! I didn't want to hang out for 15-20 minutes for them to make it. which I had to do anyways!! who does that? I mean if you get an order in you give it to the kitchen to cook you don't just hold on to it till the people show up to pick it up. ESPECIALLY since its already paid for!! Grrr... Finally the order came and I took it home to eat with my hubby, they got the order right THANKFULLY! however, when I touched my tongue to the tortilla it tasted like metal, I don't know what type of aluminum they are using to wrap the burritos but that shit is strong when your food is tasting like metal. I had to deconstruct my burrito and only eat the inside of the tortilla because of the metal taste. Definitely not coming here anymore when there is a perfectly great Poke place next door. read more
