Wahoo's has delish, meaty, clean tacos. This was my first time at the DTF location and I must say, it was pleasant. The owner, Jose, was so friendly and asked how the food was and made small talk during the lunch hour. He even asked for our names so he could address us. Couple minutes later, he comes back and asks if he can clear the table for us. Major points for remembering our names, too! It's very common to forget a strangers name once they turn around but Jose didn't. I got two grilled fish tacos, one mild and one spicy. Spicy is the better one. read more

This Wahoos is located on the corner of a busy downtown Fullerton intersection, conveniently right next to the free public parking structure. This Wahoos is a hands down five star spot thanks to its extremely friendly and attentive staff, it's healthy fast food options, quick service and cool interior. I like that the menu is spread in large print along the wall adjacent to the line as well as behind the cashier, so you can decide on your meal while you wait in line. The menu offers all kinds of details, including nutrition facts and photos- so you really have no reason not to have your order ready if you had to wait in line. The menu has healthy options (compared to other fast food chains) including a kale salad (which is one of my favs) among a variety of healthier burritos, bowls and salads. Every time I've been there, I've been greeted by a friendly smile, which is always a plus. After placing your order, you seat yourself (if you're dining in) and the food is brought to your table. The food usually arrives pretty quickly, unless it's extremely busy. This place bumps up the fast food rep in my book. read more

Service-5 stars Food-Solid 3 stars Ambiance-5 stars We purchased a paleo bowl, a couple of kids meals and chips and salsa. The service was excellent! We ordered our meal at the register. About 5 minutes later our waitress brought us our chips and salsa. The chips were crispy and the 2 salsas (pico de gallo and a chunky medium heat salsa) were also fresh and tasty. The kids meals consisted of a carne asada taco (you also have the choice of getting a quesadilla or an enchilada) and one with a side of french fries and the other with a side of black beans and cilantro rice. At $4.99, the meal is priced generously. The kids meal carne asada tacos were just ok-the tacos came with a double corn tortilla layer filled with ok quality meat. The meat had a rough and chewy texture. The french fry side was excellent. The fries were large, warm, perfectly crispy. The fries came with a side of ketchup and ranch dressing (yum!) The black beans and rice side was decent. The black beans were nicely flavored but not soft-they needed more slow cooking time. The cilantro rice had little flavor-more like regular white rice. The Paleo Bowl was excellent, but too salty! The bowl comes with 2 proteins, a light cole slaw, and avocado slices on a bed of sauteed vegetables (bell pepper, mushroom, onion, broccoli, cabbage). First of all, the bowl presentation is beautiful-a variety of colors, textures. And the flavors are excellent. However as I worked my way through the bowl, I realized how salty the vegetables were. Im not sure if this was an accident or if the bowl is usually prepared this way. Nonetheless, for the great service, awesome ambiance and decent food, I will give Wahoo Tacos another try. read more

I came here for lunch with coworkers on a Friday around noon, and I'm sold! The banzai veggies definitely won me over. I ended up ordering an outer reef burrito with banzai veggies, and I added guacamole/sour cream as well. Immediately after we ordered, my coworkers and I found the last available booth and quickly claimed it. We definitely got lucky because it seemed like the second we sat down, the place exploded with people and the line was almost going out of the door. It was kind of crazy. Anyways, the food took probably around 15 minutes or so to get delivered to our table. My burrito was served with a side of salsa, but seeing as I'm trying not to eat as much spicy food. I didn't use any. The burrito really didn't need it. It was packed full of the banzai veggies (peppers/onions/etc cooked in teriyaki sauce). The burrito was packed full of guacamole and sour cream, which I really appreciated. The beans were spilling out of the tortilla. This burrito was messy, but not impossibly messy, so I was still able to eat it with my hands. I only finished half of the burrito and had to take the rest to enjoy later. It tasted just as good later, and the quacamole, to my surprise, somehow managed to stay fresh. Overall, I really enjoyed my food. The portion sizes were huge and there is a huge selection of tacos, burritos, salads, appetizers (OMG one of my coworkers ordered onion rings and they were huge!), and other plates. I would definitely be open to coming back; however, the parking situation is pretty awful. We spent a while looking for parking in the garage, and if you have a larger truck or larger car in general, there's no way you could park your car in that garage. read more

I don't appreciate getting charged extra without knowing about it. The manager constanty tried to upsell me and I kept saying no. My biggest complaint is that when I ask for guacamole on the side of my burrito and not inside, he charged me an extra .50 JUST because i asked for my guacamole on the side. I Love Wahoo's! Healthy AND delicious? Check! The Wahoo's salad with added bonzai veggies and cilantro dressing is my favorite. It is so good. Usually I order it with spicy chicken and veggies, however last time I forgot to mention the chicken and just added the veggies. I ate about half my salad when I realized that I forgot the meat- and I didn't miss it! So much flavor. My husband loves the burritos and tacos. My lifelong love affair with Wahoo's Fish Tacos started in Huntington Beach. My dad would drive my sister and I down Beach Blvd to play in the water and have some fantastic food. Life was good. I'm not sure what's with all the hate for this Wahoo's. I know it's not "authentic" mexican food - but it isn't trying to be. If anything, Wahoo's is a lighter, healthier take on mexican faire. I've eaten at various locations around the LA and OC area and I can't get enough of their blackened fish tacos. Granted, this place isn't as stellar as the original one in Costa Mesa - but it's pretty damn close. I don't know where else I can get a fish taco, a massive plate of rice and beans and a beer (of the month) for about $5. If that isn't a power lunch, then I don't know what is. read more

Great service and a healthy place to eat fish tacos. Their fish tacos are grilled and not deep fried. You can choose which type of fish you want in your taco (salmon, mahi mahi, etc.). If you want it spicy you can choose the Cajun style which is my favorite! They also have the best french fries in my opinion. My boyfriend also tried their Carne Asada Burrito and the Carne Asada Tacos also and he really enjoyed them but we mostly come here for their fish tacos! 4 stars because their tacos only comes with salsa, the meat, and lettuce shreds. Yet another good ol' standby on nights where my fiance and I can't decide where to go. Being as we're both health conscious, it's important for us to eat healthy. Coming here, we know that we won't be eating badly. Typically, I order their tofu tacos a la carte and my fiance will order a dish with a side of brown rice and black beans for us to share. What's great about this place is that there's a Starbucks next door so, after having lunch, we can easily get our coffee fix. It's always clean and has that skater-ish atmosphere to it. I've been eating Wahoo's for years now and the food has always been amazing. But after this past visit, I felt like it was necessary to write a review because the service was just so damn good! With being a server, I highly appreciate outstanding service and they did just that! We were checked up on by at least 3 different employees during our meal. One person that really stuck out to me was Chepe. He was very polite when taking our order and making sure that everything was correct. But then through the course of my meal, I felt like I saw him everywhere throughout the restaurant. It's always awesome to see proactive employees. Very nice location and we got parking right next to restaurant. I ordered chicken tortilla soup, hubby had 2 fish tacos and daughter had plain fish taco. It was so healthy and fresh too. The fish was grilled an tasted good according to hubby and daughter. My soup was good and had a little heat to it but otherwise great. Everything came to $19. Quickly becoming our go to for quick and easy Mexican food in DTF. This location, similar to others I have visted in S.Cal, is very fun and lively. The menu includes all of the traditonal Mexican favorites as well as some fun creations that the team has come up with to keep the menu exciting. We ordered the soft tacos (one carnitas, one shrimp) and one of their burritos creation which included chicken, mushrooms, black beans, rice, and a peppers. Wahoo's is a fun place to go.Every time I've been to any location, it's been packed to the max. I've only ever had the fish tacos and the veggie tacos. Both were very tasty, but neither were the best I've had. One thing I love about Wahoo's is the black beans. I LOVE black beans. So, in my book they're A-OK. This is the stereotypical Orange County taco place bro. Food is good, staff are friendly, restaurant is clean. I recommend the Shrimp Tacos. Everything else is just ok in my opinion. The bowls (beef bowls, shrimp bowls, etc) sound good on the menu, but seem to cost more per bite than getting some tacos. Parking is in the structure... usually parking is crowded. I was never a big fan of fish tacos but then the first time i went there my brother in law said that we were having fish tacos and I just whatever. Once I walked in I felt in love with the place, because I love collecting stickers just like them LOL I ordered the carnitas burrito and it was DELICIOUS! The flour tortilla tasted differently because it was lard-free so it tasted very fresh. Then i went back for some fish tacos with brown rice and black beans. You have many options for your tacos and I ordered the spicy fish tacos and they really mean SPICY LOL I went again on Thursday right after school and ordered the Wafu Bowl it was more than a bowl for 8 bucks. This is one of my favorite places to go if I can't figure out where to eat. I always keep getting the Maui Bowl, spicy white beans and soda. The marinade on the beef and side of pico de gallo is where it's at! This Fullerton establishment is right on the busiest intersection of Harbor and Chapman, fairly close to Fullerton JC, so either try to beat the lunch rush or wait a hour or two for a better dining experience. Wahoo's is pretty much the same everywhere. I love the chicken classic wet burrito, with the green sauce! The biggest problem with this location is that it's in downtown Fullerton, and parking is difficult! They do have a parking structure, but it's a shared structure with apartment buildings above. There was a time when I was not too crazy about Wahoo's ... I never knew what to order and thought their food was just okay and overpriced. Now that I'm a bit older and have eaten out at so many fast food places, I realize that Wahoo's is great because their food is fresh, mostly healthy, and reasonably priced! My favorites include their #1 combo w/blackened mushroom enchilada, red sauce and white beans, yum!! Today I had their Wafu bowl, it's now my favorite dish! I realize both these items are vegetarian friendly but my family and I are NOT vegetarians and enjoy them very much! The onion rings are also good. We visit this location almost weekly. As with other Wahoo's locations we've experienced (Costa Mesa, Tustin, HB) the staff is always friendly and welcoming. I was expecting a lot but it was just okay. I love the burritos at rubios, but the chicken burrito at wahoos was really subpar. It made me sad--not much meat, unmelted cheese, wilted lettuce. I liked the idea of tofu and mushroom tacos so unfortunately I tried them. They were soggy, bland, and fell apart in my hands. They're quite stingy with their napkins so I had to keep asking for more, and although the server kept coming by to pick up our trays, she kept forgetting the napkins. That was awesome.
