I ordered the 2 ribs and katsu combo. It was well worth it and it was a ton of food. The katsu is very thin but the flavor for both the ribs and katsu were great. The people working were very friendly and the lady helped explain the menu. Very small local vibe and seemed like a lot of regulars were coming in and out. It doesn't look like much from the outside and the area is a pain but the food is always good. This area of the center and especially this restaurant is ALWAYS busy. That usually twigs you all you need to know about the food. Everything is made fresh so it can take a long time to get your did. This seems to be the case for most places that do Hawaiian BBQ, but this spot is actually worth waiting that long. Everyone who works here is friendly too! Came here for some Kalua pork. Boy was I disappointed for $17.00 the portion was tiny compared to l&l or Hawaiian bbq. The pork was dry the Mac salad was bland. I won't be coming back anytime soon. Service was good food came out under 15mins. read more

My partner and I are regulars here as it is near our apartment and in a plaza right near our local Target. Walking into the restaurant, you hear the grills hard at work preparing chicken and short ribs alike. The smell wafts in the venue as you wait for your food to be cooked and it's such a treat. I usually get the #1 Hawaiian Chicken BBQ plate ($13.99) with extra Mac salad and my bf orders the Loco Moco ($16.49). Typically, you're in and out of here unless it's busy like around dinner time. You won't wait more than 15 minutes as they're very quick on serving the food out fast and hot. Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Found this and had to see what they had to offer based on reviews. I ordered almost everything, so when I come back I know what not to order. Items go from worst to best in my opinion. 1. Fried shrimp - meh don't bother, way too much breading. 2. Spam musubi - honestly, mediocre. Don't waste your time. 3. BBQ combo mix plate - This was delicious, bbq beef and bbq short rib was good. I substituted bbq chicken for pork and that was pretty good as well. Never been to a hawaiian bbq place that had bbq pork. Everything went well with rice and macaroni. 4. Pork lau lau and kalua pork with rice and mac - So flavorful. 5. Loco moco- This was the best item that I highly recommend. If anything ask for extra gravy and no cabbage and carrots. Used to be a 4 or 5 star rating, but they have hiked up their prices tremendously. $15.99 for a chicken combo platter is nuts. Service is always great, staff is always nice, attentive, and fast. It's very late 90s decor in here and could do with some remodeling but hasn't been done yet. Summer time gets really hot, looks like they've added a mini split in the last few years but it's not cooling down the space at all. Better for takeout. read more

I had the chicken katsu bowl and spam musubi. I liked the portion size of the bowl because I ate the steamed vegetables and some of the chicken for dinner and ate the rest for lunch on the next day. The meat tasted tender and delicious. Combined with the rice and katsu and teriyaki sauces, I enjoyed my meal a lot. The cutlet was so thin and not much chicken. The katsu sauce was way too sweet. I was also expecting the bbq chicken to have a basic teriyaki flavor but there was no flavor at all. I stopped by today 05/09/23. You can always be sure to get good, hot, consistently fresh Hawaiian food here. The customer service here is always great. I stop by at least twice a month for take out. I have noticed the prices have gone up on alot of my favorite dishes but it's so good I keep coming back. They do offer indoor and outdoor seating. The only thing I would probably suggest the place needs a small face lift / upgrades on decor / AC units. But other then that it's an all around great place to stop by for food. This is our go to Hawaiian take out spot! Definitely a hole in the wall, and not modernized like its many competitors. However, I am Hawaiian and this is exactly how Hawaiian food should be! Even looks like how many hole in the walls look like on the islands. The food is phenomenal, the staff is friendly, and the portions are generous. 2 plates feed myself, my husband, and my grandpa. If you are dining alone, the mini meals are perfect portions, which I have ordered on a few occasions. My husband's favorite is the traditional BBQ chicken plate. I am a fan of the mahi mahi! Best tarter sauce EVER. It's worth 50 cents to get extra. The fish is always crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The cabbage is always cooked to perfection. I bought food for my cousin and self, we asked for a Styrofoam plate replacement because the one I had was punctured from bottom and my Teriyaki sauce was leaking. The Lady Carmen (she said that was her name) didn't want to give us another, she said we had to pay for the new styrofoam plate. I didn't mind paying but as a customer that just paid (with card) close to $40. It was a little upsetting because we were eating at restaurant (not as if I left and came back) and wanted to not have it leak all over my car. I ended up calling a number that was online. The other lady ( at Brea location) said her name was Naomi was very nice and I spoke to her in regard of what happened, she took my number down and said she would give my number to a Supervisor and give me a call back. I typically go to this location (Fullerton), as it's closer to my work, however the last few times I've been there, the food has just been average. The attached photo shows the BBQ combo plate, which comes with BBQ chicken, kalbi and BBQ beef, with rice and mac salad. The portions are big, but their meat is just okay. The last time I was here, I ordered the hamburger steak, which is a hamburger patty with gravy on top of rice. The cashier/hostess told me it will take 10 min to cook, and she was right. When it arrived, the meal itself looked terrible. It looked like there were small chunks of bread in the gravy. I couldn't quite make it out. When I bit into the hamburger patty, it was way over-cooked and I had to get a knife in order to cut it. I've had their loco moco before, which I thought would be the same thing without the egg, but this meal seemed to have a different patty and different gravy. This location is somewhat small, with maybe 8-10 tables inside and outside. It's located in a strip mall near Target, so there is plenty of parking. This used to be my go-to Hawaiian local food place for lunch, but it may be time to search for an alternative. read more
