We ate at Wahoos on our road trip back to Az and it was absolutely delicious!! Also the staff was super friendly and welcoming made us feel like old friends. I HIGHLY recommend the Baja rolls! They are super tasty (who doesn't love cream cheese) and served with a spicy green sauce. We also ordered tacos and they were both great! We ordered the fish and the carne asada! I was too excited, and hungry, to take a picture. I ordered the white rice and Cajun beans and was not disappointed! The Cajun beans were phenomenal!!!! It's been several years since I've been to a Wahoo's so I thought I'd give 'em anther try, and... Nope. Just not for me. I get why people like this place, but nothing I had was more than serviceable, and a few things were actually disappointing. In particular, the "Cajun" beans reminded me of dried/rehydrated stuff that you get in a box. The tortillas were also odd with a kind of tough cardboard texture. This fish was fine, and I liked the slaw and various salsas quite a bit. The serving sizes were all generous. But the overall experience was underwhelming. No complaints, but nothin rocked my world. This location was far into Henderson and since it was up the hill on the highway, it actually has the BEST VIEWPOINT you can find in the area. The food itself is highly affordable & tasted healthy. I would not compare it to the authentic flavors of a traditional taqueria, but they are still doing something right with the menu. The food is great & for the price, it makes a good lunch. I have never given a 2 star subpar review to a Wahoos ever...until today. All I tried to do was get a bowl with half Kailua pig and half Maui steak. Half of both ingredients, that's all. The first girl couldn't figure it out so they charged me for extra protein. I didn't want 100% of each, I wanted 50% of each. Somehow this was tough to figure out. The manager dismissed me saying, Sorry dude, you gotta pay for the extra protein. I told him I want half/half. This fell on deaf ears, or ears unwilling to listen. I was so thrilled to see a Wahoos from the freeway. I was so happy to eat familiar food here in Nevada. Thanks for ruining that experience with something very simple. read more

We used to come here more frequently years ago but moved a tiny bit further from them. We stopped in recently and all was still the same yet different. The menu changed a bit. Lost some items, added some. I think the guy at register was pretty new as he wasn't super familiar with the menu. Anyways, I order the wahoo spicy fish tacos 1988 style with cabbage. They were great. We wanted rolled tacos and onions rings to start with but everything came all at once which was fine and we just ate it a it arrived. My son grabbed the kids fish bowl with rice and plain wahoo. All was still tasty as it used to be however we used to love the balsamic vinaigrette they had with salad before and that is gone. We used it on the rice bowls too. Lastly, the onion rings were served in like a small styrofoam bowl which seemed odd. It was pretty slow inside yet the table were dirty? We'll come again as we love the place and the food but the knowledge and keeping the place clean would step it up a notch. read more

Update from Feb 2023! About a week ago, I returned to Wahoo with my mom- and the experience deserved an immediate post (but as I was traveling the next morning, I failed to do so in my packing haste). Here is my belated review. When we arrived, I met Dade at the front and indicated I was uncertain as to what to order but was hoping to try different things than what we had ordered before. He basically walked us through the menu and helped me with each item. We ordered the Protein Bowl (we chose Shrimp and Salmon, which comes with fantastic sauteed veggies, avocado, and citrus slaw), the Kalua Pig Bowl (carnitas, with rice and we opted for black beans), a Chicken Quesadilla with guacamole and sour cream on the side, Chips and Salsa and Guacamole. Working backward, we already knew from before that we liked their chips, (and the Queso), but I loved trying their salsa... and also some of the salsas from the salsa bar! (I could eat the light green one every day on just about everything...). The Guacamole was well made and very tasty. The Chicken Quesadilla was a nice portion size with a good amount of chicken. The Carnitas were excellent- I love carnitas, but sometimes it's too dry or fatty, but this was very tasty. But the star was definitely the Protein Bowl- I only had a little because I could see my mom enjoyed it (and even talked about it the next day!) but both the shrimp and salmon were very, very tasty! And the sauteed veggies really should be called "fantastic sauteed veggies" because they were! I could have done a double portion of those!! The avocado was a nice portion of avocado. The citrus slaw was light and refreshing and did not have too much dressing (which is helpful to know for those who do not like their slaw drowning in dressing). You should definitely try the Protein Bowl... (but you really should check out the Carnitas and definitely get salsa, queso, and/or guacamole with light, crisp appropriately-salted chips!) On this visit, we were able to try 4 of their proteins (Shrimp, Salmon, Carnitas, and Chicken) and I liked all of them, but definitely really enjoyed the Shrimp, Salmon, and Carnitas! Like the earlier visit, we took the food to go, but I like the ambiance of this Wahoo's and think eating there right after the food has been prepared would be my preference just because the setting is nice. I am so glad Dade reached out weeks earlier and invited us to come back. It was well worth it- and honestly, their menu is quite large so you are sure to find more than a few things to deliberate over. I should mention Dade's hospitality was the highlight of this trip, as he truly went above and beyond to make up for the unpleasant first experience. I take note when a restaurant or other retail outlet or business has excellent customer service and works to make things right. Now I just have to decide what to try next from the menu (though I am a wee-bit concerned I might order the Protein Bowl for both myself and my mom again next time, because it's really that good- and that way we do not have to share!) read more

I was craving Fish Tacos and thought this place would be the place to take care of that. Bar area was booming but we opted to sit in the quieter dining area side. They have a nice casual beach décor. Cashier was extremely polite and was patient in answering all my questions! First time dining here - so of course I'm trying to order the perfect fish taco! The menu lets you build your menu items so I decided on crunchy fish tacos while my husband ordered grilled. I also wanted to try the tortilla soup. Food was quick to get to us, which we appreciated. The soup is a unique spinoff of a traditional chicken tortilla soup. Let me warn you - they do not hold back on the toppings ! Both orders of fish tacos were large! This review is only for the location on Horizon and Horizon parkway in Henderson. Don't get me wrong they have great fish tacos, rice and beans and the other stuff on the menu I've tried is good too. But their smoke filled bar area smell migrates into the rest of the dinning area. The workers there are great but they are probably acclimated to the smoke and don't smell it. I only get food to go and cringe when I have to go to the register to pay because you can smell that ashtray smoke. So because of that , I drive out of my way now to Rubios (8 miles away vs 1 mile that's has no smoking to get fish tacos . So this location that probably does good on bar revenue and counter top gaming has lost me as a regular customer they could careless about because it's all about the money in the poker machines and letting the gamblers smoke. But if you're a smoker , go hit up Wahoo's the food is great. read more

I ordered gluten free grilled fish tacos that were served on lettuce leaf, and took them home to eat. I noticed the lettuce had brown dirt on the leaf and called to complain and the manager confirm the lettuce in the kitchen had dirt on it, apologized, and refunded my money. A few weeks later, I go back to get grilled fish gluten free tacos on a corn tortilla and take them home to eat. This time I got extreme diarrhea. Never going there again, not sure what they are doing in the kitchen but the health dept needs to inspect them. read more

Wahoo's has been a place I've enjoyed since the late 90's when I discovered them while vacationing in Huntington Beach, CA. I was thrilled when they opened here in LV. I've been to most the locations: boca park, s rainbow & 215, s eastern, horizon ridge henderson (amazing panoramic valley view from the bar side here!) and my most frequented location, next to Palm's casino since 2020. As of July 2023 , I'll never go to Wahoo's on W Flamingo again. The specifics of why are detailed on their individual Yelp profile. Apparently Wahoo's regional manager Todd quit this year which makes all other locations questionable bc from what I gathered, now that he's gone, quality and freshness has taken a dive and I've noticed the prices are still going up and up. However, IF I EVER GO TO a Wahoos again, it'll be to enjoy the panoramic view of the Vegas Valley, from the bar side at the Horizon Ridge, Henderson location. read more

Folks, seriously take to heart what I'm about to share with you about this Wahoo's on Horizon Ridge. They don't deserve even one star. We tried this place for the first & last time tonight. I knew when I walked in...on a Friday night....and there was only one couple sitting there eating some chips with a little solo cup of taco sauce. Granted....I've been a chef for many years....so my standards are quite high. But this dump...and I do not use that word figuratively....it should be shut down by the Health District...Pronto! We ordered chips with queso, guacamole & salsa. The queso was some putrid white watery substance. Absolutely disgusting. It wasn't even edible. Then the guacamole...it wasn't even green....it was Gray! Again....disgusting. The "salsa".....was the taco sauce located by their beverage station. Now we'll get to the most hideous fish sandwich I've ever smelled! This fish could've killed someone...especially an elderly person....or at the very least....sent them to the hospital. This is not hyperbole....I kid you not. This rancid "fish" smelled horrid! I don't mean like a normal fish smell....I mean rotten spoiled fish. It's a smell that you'll never ever forget. I'm stunned that someone would even serve it. It was so awful....that you couldn't even bring it to your mouth to take a bite without gagging by the smell. Yes.....it was that bad. There was no way I would ever eat that. The saying goes.....if the establishment is filthy....if the tables are filthy....and if the bathrooms are filthy....and if the place has no patrons....Always turn around and leave. And I made a huge mistake. We immediately got up and searched for the cashier....and demanded our money back. Which the guy returned with no issues. Whoever owns this place....should fire every person in that kitchen. Word of mouth spreads quickly in this area of town...which is perhaps why the place was empty on a Friday night at dinner time. So....do yourself a favor......skip this place! You'll be grateful you did. read more

It's ok. When the food is good, it's good. It's Wahoos. Unfortunately the food is not consistently good. I'm normally not one to gripe about my food not being piping-hot, but they'll regularly bring you food that is luke warm - sometimes outright cold. Protein amounts vary greatly day by day. Extras that you ask for won't be delivered half of the time, which is a shame because they removed the salsa bar making it a requirement to order salsa & other extras at the counter. But every once in awhile you place an order and it's absolutely delicious. Just don't place an order to go. That's never gone well for me, not once. A solid option for a quick meal with the possibility of a healthy meal. The number of choices here set this slightly above similar restaurants for me. Inside the restaurant and outside on the patio there is plenty of seating. They even have a separate bar with a full drink menu and gaming. The vibe in the restaurant is designed to feel like a beachside hangout. The menu offers a nice selection of tacos, burritos, enchiladas, salads, and bowls. There were plates with the option for one or two enchiladas. Sides offered a choice of a couple of types of rice and a couple of bean types. Each meal is available with a protein and there are about half a dozen meat and non-meat options. My enchilada meal was good, I liked both the red and green sauce. The rice and beans were okay. So ive been a HUGE fan of this chain when I first tried their food at their other location very close to the strip. The whole decor is all Cali surfer theme vibe with plenty of seating and a great bar. Ive been to two different locations and they are all setup the same (bar area being seperate from their dining room). The rooms being seperated is very ideal and convenient especially if you dont want to be around other people drinking and smoking near you, and great to take the family out too because of that fact. This location happened to be pretty close to my house so we decided to check it out, as we got there we noticed how awesome the view of the city was because this specific location sits on top of a steep hill and that was just the beginning of many cool things about this chain. As always, we were warmly greeted by the bartender and given menus right away. As for the ambience, it was very chill and relaxed with many tvs around the bar and super clean. Their menu range from tacos, burgers and a good handful of list of bar food. They also have happy hour and late night happy hour which begins at 10pm. My gf was very happy with her buffalo chicken burger and I ordered their two crispy fish taco plate which came with rice and beans...TASTY!!! Overall, we love Wahoos and each location has been very consistent in great service and cleanliness. We definitely are fans of this chain and whenever we have a late night craving, this chain is alway on our mind. Definitely check it out if you want a cool place to drink and eat. read more

Service....NOT GOOD. Our first time here. We live close by and we have never tried this place. The lady who took our order seemed irritated with us as we were placing our orders. We took a little bit as we were looking at the the menu, we were not holding the line at all, we were on the side of the order line. It was order your food first and they will deliver it to your table. We were given a number to put on our table but we were not given utensils or napkins. I went to the area where we can get condiments, salsa etc and I got some of it on my fingers. Naturally, I went to a person who can give me some napkins, the lady who took our orders said to me, after I asked for napkins : "Is your table dirty?" I said no. Then she said: "We bring you napkins when we bring you your food and your utensils." It was not said in a nice manner. I felt dumb! Then, I had to explain that it is our first time here due to Yelp reviews and we doing not know how they do things here. But regardless, I asked for napkins. I was given some but after I was made feel dumb.
