Hubby and I were really craving fish. We were just driving down the road and saw this place, so we immediately stopped. Hubby got the outer reef burrito and I got the protein bowl with fish and shrimp. Everything was delicious. They cooked it and it came out hot. I was worried because they have a gaming lounge and I was worried about cigarette smoke, but the game lounge is completely separate. This is good if you have families. Just walked out of Wahoo's after unsuccessfully trying to order dinner & beers. After standing at the main order counter for 5 minutes, we were finally told that we had to order all food at the bar. We stopped here on our way home from Vegas for a quick dinner. We had our dog with us and they have a dog friendly patio. The place was virtually empty which was perfect for us. I ordered the Banzai Burrito with chicken. The burrito was full of rice, chicken, teriyaki vegetables (luckily only one piece of broccoli) but plenty of other veggies. I also asked for no beans. The burrito was huge and I ended up eating only half. My husband ordered the fish tacos. I would have ordered fish also but when I asked what kind of fish, they said it was the Wahoo white fish. I don't know what that is and if it was swai or tilapia, I'm not a fan. The absolute best part about this Wahoo's is they have Dole Whip and it's half the price of the Dole Whip at Disneyland. Ok, don't get me wrong here. For some reason I always thought Wahoo's was a surf shop, even though we do not have beaches in Las Vegas. Maybe it's because their logo, a fish, looks like a surfboard. LOL. This was our first time trying out Wahoo's. Initially I thought this would be a sit down restaurant, but some may view Wahoo's as a takeout place. This location has rooftop seating and a bar (21+ only) that allows smoking. I'm very adventurous with food these days so I was looking forward to trying them out. Our order consisted of the following items; the 1988 fish taco with white rice and Cajun spicy white beans for me, and the 1988 crispy flounder taco and the mother clucker burrito for my boyfriend. Everything here was really good! They even have a Ms. Pac Man/Galaga arcade cabinet near the entrance. The only downside about our visit to Wahoo's was the wait time. It took about 15 minutes for our food to come out because the cooks messed up one of our tacos. Other than that, excellent place. DO NOT GO HERE - spoiled food, mediocre taste, expensive for quality received. Being a SoCal native that frequented Baja Big Sur, Loreto, La Paz, and Tijuana.. I flat told the cashier I have a bias and standard for fish tacos n pacific coast seafood. None of the four items I tried came close , and the quality was atrocious. Entered around 6pm on a Monday, dinner time, to find a barren restaurant. Counted, and it was able to seat about 90 people inside with a patio out front. There was only one person - red flag. Went up and asked "why are yall dead during dinner?" She told me that it was probably cuz the prices are a bit higher than what you can get around, but she's been there for years n still eats there. Asked her recommendations , and got one of them. The spicy fish taco. Also ordered a fried fish taco, a spicy carnitas taco, and an order of steak taquitos. As you can see, the taquitos were loosely rolled and small (reminded me of lumpia lol), and served with OLD guacamole. Not just brown from like, the top of the container had oxidized. Nah. All of the guac was brown and old throughout. The spicy taco was not spicy nor tasty, and it and the other taco were over garnished with about a cup of mayo-based, wilted slaw that tasted gross. The carnitas taco tasted good, but not 4.50$ per taco, good. The brown lime tarnishing (not garnishing) the beer was also a put off. I tried two spicy and one mild salsa, they were gelatinous that required some stirring .. flavor was flat, not spicy. No extra limes at the salsa bar, no cilantro/onion.. I accept Vegas is land locked, and there will be a price increase for having to ship in fish.. but the quality of food was outright awful. When I asked what places she liked , she suggested 5Guys burgers; shoulda gone there for better quality, leave full and satisfied, and not having to worry about the quality of the food. This place was dead during dinner, and if this is the quality of food they put out, can see why it's dead and see this place closing soon. Never going back. Save your money, time, and gut. read more

We used to eat at Wahoos in San Diego and it was so good so we gave this location a try.... Well we walked in and there were only 2 ppl eating so we should've walked out then... Customers shouldn't be the first to greet the employees. Isn't it custom for employees to say Hello or Hi or something when customers walk in? We had to greet this girl first and had to ask her if she was ready for us to order as she just stared at us for a good minute while we stood there trying to decide what to order. Then had the nerve to flip that screen over and ask for a tip. The tip option is absolutely absurd for a CASHIER! This place is definitely not here for the food. They're still in business for the bar and gambling. Came here last night. First let me say I ordered some fries and normally you get a nice amount and they are just plain fries unless you order the cajun ones. We opted to get plain however, they were not plain they had some kind of salty cracked pepper stuff on them. That is not plain and it was not good! Secondly for $4 the serving that was given was ridiculous. We ordered the Baja rolls and they come with this spicy green sauce. When we checked our food there was no sauce and this has happened to us many times at this location. Instead of offering us another sauce or saying they were out, they said nothing. There should be a sauce option when you order and if that sauce is out it should say that because in my opinion, that's what makes the Baja rolls really good. With no sauce I wouldn't have ordered. Probably won't be back to this location. We have never had any issues at the location on Horizon. Every time we go there it is super empty so I'm not sure why they are lacking communication or running out of stuff. read more

Used to come here a lot and boy where do I start. Last time I was there, it sucked. I figured they must have just had a rush and were trying to catch up ( now I doubt it) but food took forever and it was early in the evening. And the food was awful. Burrito was dry, rice was hard and the ice tea pot sat empty even after I asked the cashier if they were gonna make some more (it was only about 530 In the evening). Flash forward about 5 months ,Got suckered into going in for their Desert Dogs deal for a free #2 platter after a select player scores two goals, hell yeah! Ahh hell no!! No problems with the #2 being dine only, who's gonna say no to tacos and sides and a beer while you wait for your burrito and another #2 to go. And then we wait.....and wait....and wait.... No bartender around and almost done with my beer and no #2 for dine in. 45 minutes have gone by at this time and I had to wave down an employee who said she's the new bar manager (she rocked by the way) off the clock to see why my food is sitting up under the heat lamps. She is helpful and says something to the cook who brings out my to go order-47 minutes at this point and doesn't have my dine in order. He hasn't made it and the bartender tells me that he burned it and was making another one. They offered to comp my to-go and pay for my beer, threw them a twenty for a tip because I'm not out for a free meal and it's not their fault the cook should seek a different career and they were slammed with the total amount of zero people at the bar. That's right, there wasn't anyone there and oh by the way, this was at 9pm on a Saturday night. And now for the cherry on top. Got the slaw burrito home and it was disgusting. It had sat on the heat lamp so long that the Mr. Lees sauce was baked to a hard shell and the tortilla was hard as a rock. To the trash with ya! Glad it only cost me a good tip and a bit of my time. So I've been going to Wahoos in Vegas, Cali and Colorado a lot over the years and no matter what an owner or a bar manager or anyone else replies to this rant says, I won't be going back to the one on Eastern even if it was giving out free puppies with every terrible burrito purchased. My first visit to Wahoo's Fish Tacos, well at least this location, and I'd have to say that I walked away impressed! I've been twice to the other Wahoo's location and I swore that I was done as there were always little things that went wrong that just turned me off over time. This location is in a completely remodeled building which is quite impressive. The place is quite large as it's divided in half with a walled off bar/gaming area that was quite cool for game day watching. The restaurant side is large and even has some outdoor seating options for cooler weather. The menu is a little overwhelming as it's not completely "Mexican" food, but rather their spin on it. I ordered the crispy fish tacos and was very impressed with the flavors, the portion size, and the excellent cabbage slaw. I ordered the spicy white beans and cauliflower rice as my two sides and was equally impressed. The beans do have a nice kick to them, and the cauliflower rice was not bland as you might expect. The servers are usually nice, and fairly efficient at this Henderson location. I have ordered twice from Wahoo's Fish Tacos and both times I came in to a desolate and empty restaurant. No one greeted me at the door, no one at the bar, no staff or customers in sight (which is honestly a sign of their poor business practices). I stood there for over 20 minutes, no one said a word. I waited said hello again, no response. Then upon saying hello a third time one disgruntled employee from the back told me to "hold on" as he was standing there on his phone. Out of town travelers looking for a place to eat at 7:30PM on a Sunday evening. Wahoo's was located right next to my hotel. Placed my order at around 7:28pm and sat down. Noticed there were three other customers waiting for food along with two others customers coming in to pick up online/phone preorder. 7:45pm came around and one customer approached the counter to complain they had been waiting for over half an hour for their food. A second customer had received their food and the customer had complained their food looked nothing like the picture. The poor cashier apologized profusely and took ownership of the situation. She made it up by providing a discount and free fries. I asked for status of my food at around 7:50pm. The cashier stated the cook was still prepping the food. I did not get my food until 8:05pm. I did get a discount on my order for the long wait. I must have picked the wrong night to eat Wahoos. Maybe a cook called out. Idk! But there could have been a pre warning that food was delayed for 30-45 minutes. To top it off, it smelled like cigarettes spewing from the bar room. There was also a man that walked in from the bar with three kids. Must have been the manager's husband. He literally walked behind the counter to ask the cook to make him food. Food was ok, service was ZERO Stars and based on previous reviews with no response from management, it's obvious management does not care about reviews. We decided to sit in the bar at a table. There were 3 bartenders working and they could barely keep up with the people around that bar let alone the tables in the bar. They tried hard, but it was obvious they were all undertrained, there was no clear supervisor or anyone who cared. If you knew someone who worked there, you got attention otherwise it was fen for yourself. Our server came over, she took our drink order, went behind the bar and started serving customers at the bar. After about 5 minutes she finally made our drinks and put them on the bar and they sat there for another good 5 to almost 10 minutes before she brought them over. We got our food which was not bad, but when the drinks were empty, we had to get up and go to the bar to request refills on water and alcohol. Our server disappeared from the bar for a good 15 minutes and showed up right after we went to the bar to get more drinks. Then I asked a Bartendar to please split our check which she said she could do and then went into a confused state. After about 10 Minutes she showed up with one half of the bill? I asked her where the other portion of the bill was and she looked at me like I had 3 eyes? We finally got the other half of the bill from another bartendar. I was so hopeful for this location as this place has changed hands many many times. I guess this will be another restaurant in that location that will eventually close its doors.
