The food is really straightforward, your typical fish taco/burrito joint. It's made properly through. I have had the wahoo burrito and a chicken chimichanga. They were both solid in that it was neither bland nor salty, and it tasted like it was made with real ingredients, as opposed to heavily preserved, reheated frozen stuff. What really made my meals great was the service. I had umpteen questions about the menu, and the gentleman behind the counter was not only patient, but even seemed to enjoy helping a customer. That's rare, so it should be called out. It was 2:30 on a Tuesday afternoon, so pretty dead. That's why I go in the mud-afternoon, lol. The place was clean and inviting, so I ended up eating in. I asked what their hottest salsa was, and he got me a container of their mr lee's chili sauce, and it was just right. What happened to this place? I haven't been in several years. Before, the fish tacos were fresh and delicious. I came in and ordered the two taco plate, both fish. What used to be amazing fish tacos now is some frozen patty from a giant food distributor like Shamrock. They were over breaded and artificial. And they changed the spicy white beans recipe too...for the worse. The rice is still good, though. Might be an okay place if you've never been. I was in Longmont for a dog event at the Boulder Country Fairgrounds, something I thought would be a morning affair but in fact I found myself there until mid-afternoon, which necessitated finding lunch nearby. Fish taco fast food seemed like it might be a nice change of pace - alas, Wahoo's didn't live up to my food memories from when I lived in CA, nor for that matter the fish tacos that can be had in Fort Collins. I swear that I used to be able to get a taco with a nice sized, fried chunk o' white fish at the fast food joint in CA. Maybe I'm thinking of Rubio's. I ordered a combination with one taco, and found that there was just two or three bites of what I assume is fish -- it was kind of a shredded mess, I've never had fish that way -- in my taco. The beans were decent, the rice kind of bland but okay doctored-up with the green sauce and lime wedges left over from my taco. Ah, well. In any case, Wahoo's is not a bad option if you are needing a quick lunch while at an event at the fairgrounds ... it certainly beats the golden arches. Perhaps there are better things to try, but you would think that a restaurant's namesake would be good? I do have to appreciate how the decor here has been Colorado-ized by replacing surfboards with snowboards ... that was good for a chuckle. Needed a quick spot for lunch. Quick and easy counter order and they brought my food out to my table. Arrived at 12:15 and was eating by 12:25. I ordered the Wahoo bowl with fried fish. Good for texture but not a lot of flavor by itself. Would probably choose grilled next time. The green sauce has medium heat. Just right for me. Really good all around. We came fairly early before all the lunch rush, and ordered a 2 taco entree with Wahoo fish and a couple of Wahoo Bowls (cajun style seasoning and one grilled). All of them were really good. My son who doesn't like any seafood really enjoyed it and cleaned his plate. I think it is because the Wahoo fish is fairly light in flavor, but has bite/texture as well. It was well cooked and moist. Really delicious! The service was very friendly as well. It was great. I first had Wahoo's in Colorado almost 15 years ago, and thought it was awesome then, and still think the same now. Great! read more

I stopped in here today to get take out for lunch. It was my first time in Wahoo's in quite some time so I needed a minute before placing my order. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I ordered the #2 combo plate, with 2 enchiladas & red sauce (one shrimp and one grilled wahoo), black beans and brown rice. I asked if the green sauce was green bc of cilantro, the cashier said "yes." Since cilantro is so totally NOT my jam (fellow cilantro-haters, you know), I got the red sauce. There was another employee behind the cashier (perhaps the manager?) who noticed that I said "no cilantro for me, please" and asked the cashier to put "no pico" on my order bc there is cilantro in it. Which is SO AWESOME of him! After placing my #2 combo order, I checked out the menu again and decided to also get the Baja Rolls. You know, because I'm an adult and can do what I want. I got my to-go bag and every employee on the way out was all: "have a great day!" and pretty smiley. It was really nice. Fast forward to being back at work where I could enjoy the noms (ok so maaaaaaaybe I snuck one of the Baja Rolls in the car). Despite being ravenous, I managed to snap a pic of the food. Everything was exactly how I asked for it (no cilantro!!) and it was still pretty hot despite the INSANE amount of construction traffic that seems to be happening in every corner of Longmont. The enchiladas were my favorite part. A reasonable amount of protein in each one (not a large amount, but not tiny either), no other unadvertised ingredients inside (surprise shredded cabbage or other such nonsense would have been ALL THE THUMBS DOWN), smothered in red sauce, with melted cheese on top. The enchiladas could have had 100% more red sauce on them, however, so they were a bit dry, in truth. Next time I'll get extra red sauce on the side. (maybe even extra cheese... who knows? I get wild sometimes) The rice was fine (good texture but not too much flavor outside of the normal brown rice taste) and the seasoning on the black beans was not my favorite, but that's just personal preference. Next time, I'll probably get 3 enchiladas and skip the rice and beans altogether. Oh, the Baja Rolls were good, too. I liked that there was spinach in there and the outside being a bit crunchy was a nice contrast to the softer ingredients on the inside. There were also many more pieces in that box than I expected. They were cut into smaller pieces, too, so it's a good dish to share. This was definitely a solid four star experience. I'm sooo pumped I now know there is a Wahoo's in Longmont. Next time I'll eat in and have one of those refreshing looking margs. read more

This is an above-average example of an already-damned-good national chain. The food is solid, portions were huge, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much more fresh everything was than some Wahoos I'd been to in recent years (what the hell happened, California?). The staff were super friendly and checked on me often. The interior also was clean and had the right aesthetic for a Wahoo's, but wasn't wallpapered floor to ceiling with eye-wrenching skate/surf crap. So my eyes didn't bleed: bonus! I use these guys for larger lunches. normally 20 or more. They do a great job and always put me first. The food is always fresh, tasty and healthy. I have never had a bad meal there. The staff is friendly and easy to work with anytime of the day. 2 weeks ago I did a lunch for about 25 people. The meal was great. As I was checking out I forgot to order cookies, so I added them but had to do a 2nd CC charge. I gave them a nice tip on the larger transaction (pick up order in my book should be about 10-12%), but nothing on the smaller one I lined it out and gave no additional tip. I just went to review my expenses this month and found that the 30.00 tip I put not the larger payment was processed twice. I was clearly not happy and called Wahoo's to work this situation out. The manager was not there when I called, but I got a call back first thing in the morning. She was very apologetic and fixed the error immediately. She was amazing and exactly the type of person I would want working for me. She gets it, and she took great care of me. She refunded my 2nd tip + the cost of the cookies (about 20.00's). She also gave me a 15.00 gift card for lunch! I ALWAYS give a business the benefit of doubt. I ALWAYS give them an opportunity to fix an error and admit when they are wrong. Wahoo's made an error, fixed it immediately and was remorseful for the error. This is a company that gets it and a manager that has been well trained and given the flexibility to fix situations. I will be back to Wahoo's as soon as I possibly can to give them more of my business. THANK YOU!!!! read more

I'll admit that I come here for the margaritas, but I can't help it! They are that good!! Even though they only have one flavor, it's the best tasting marg I've ever had (but you have to like tartness), and they are strong. Two is my limit and I have a designated driver! I guess I should add that the food is pretty amazing as well. I highly recommend the green sauce wherever you can get it. The shrimp tacos are awesome as well. The staff is always super friendly and pretty much know what my husband and I are going to order when we step up to the register. I love Wahoo's because it kind of has a sit-down feel but not a sit-down price. We can get dinner, two drinks each, and queso appetizer for less than $40 (close to $32, if it's happy hour). This location has nice patio and people working there but it used to be awesome. Not so much anymore. Never could understand why no napkins except for 1 wrapping silverware. For fast-casual Mexican-style fare, I would much rather go to Chipotle. It is true that Chipotle doesn't offer seafood, but the fish tacos I had at Wahoo's were so dry and overcooked that I wouldn't order them again. My friend and I were looking for a place to grab some lunch today and decided to come here. He told me it was good and I'd never been here before so I figured i'd give it a shot. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very "laid back/surfer." And they allow people to place stickers of whatver they wish (albeit appropriate) on the wall. The prices range from about $4 to $8. Which isn't so bad. The food was delicious and you get a pretty hefty amount. It's been almost 7 hours since i ate and I'm still content. Makes a great lunch spot. Came in on a Thursday for kids eat free, and was very happy to see it was two kids meals per adult. This is great for my family of 6 and we had a great, fresh tasting meal for about the same price as McDonalds. I tried the special calamari tacos and they were tasty.
