I tried the lemon poppy seed muffin and it was nicely moist and delicious. I'd happily come back to try more of their pastries. The drinks, however, were more underwhelming. I ordered the banana matcha, which tasted a bit watered down and didn't have much banana flavor. My sister got the pumpkin spice latte hojicha, but the pumpkin spice completely overpowered the drink. It might just have been our particular choices--there's a decent variety on the menu--so it's worth trying something else for yourself. I caught them parked at the empty parking lot at the corner of Vandenberg and Freedom on Hickam. I stopped by during my lunch break, less than 30 minutes before closing. Like with any new coffee shop, I opted for my baseline drink, an iced vanilla latte. The gentleman who took my order was also the barista. He shared FFC's mission, that they donate proceeds to local animal shelters. Picked up my drink, took a sip, and I was amazed at the strength of the espresso...just right! Sweet enough, not too watery, not too creamy, roasted coffee flavor was great. Their menu is simple, without all the frou-frou flavors and add-ons. Their syrups are house-made and their coffees are from a local coffee roaster! Customers of that other local coffee shop on base should run to FFC instead! Since that visit, I found out that they now do drive-thru service, and will soon add conchas from @conchas_solo8 to their lineup of baked goods beginning August 27th! I'm overdue for a repeat visit. The main thing to note about this cafe is the ambiance. 10/10 views and it's so relaxing and calming just sitting on the chairs that overlook the ocean.
