Bench where her dog was keeping watch!

We loved our visit here! We stopped thinking it was a coffee shop not realizing they just roast coffee to order! She graciously let us come in and we bought some coffee she had roasted that day! Loved chatting with her and getting to know more about her business!

Super kind local family doing it right! Sourcing local coffee beans from all over the Hawaiian Islands and micro roasting them In Kaka'ako. They will grind and roast to one's personal preferences and take custom orders. Franchesca runs the biz with her family and they are all super friendly and knowledgeable. Visit them at KCC Farmers Market on Saturday mornings to get a taste of freshly roasted and brewed coffee and perhaps get an order in for the following week.

A delicious hidden gem in the ever growing and changing Kaka'ako! I saw them at the Kapiolani Farmer's Market, and I should've bought back then but I didn't. So I tracked them down and little did I know they had limited hours during the week. I rolled up after they closed, but since I worked out at UFC, I came the next morning! The owners are great! Friendly and will grind your beans if you ask. I bought the Hawaiian House blend and the 100% Kona. I brought them back to the mainland and the flavors are amazing! Such a great product and company! And it's good to support local businesses! Mahalo!

Despite frequent visits to my favorite coffee shop ARVO, I never bothered to explore Kaka'ako (especially on foot) as I assumed it would be full of a) ridiculously expensive condos that none of my friends or I will be able to afford b) tourists roaming around with their cameras 3) homeless. But when I was stranded for 2 hrs while waiting for Fifi (my Fiat) to get an oil change, I had to choose between killing two hours in a boring (but air conditioned!) lounge or hoofing it, and boy am I glad I chose the latter. While roaming Kaka'ako, I stumbled across a smiling Japanese woman who beckoned me over with promises of coffee (a surefire way to lure me in...just FYI in case any one is planning to kidnap me). After sampling some excellent blends, we got to talking about coffee (they are one of the few microroasters who roast their own beans here on the island). And since I find Kona beans tend to be too acidic for my palate, I was pleasantly surprised to find their house blend uses Maui beans. The couple running the shop, Kalani & Masami, are super welcoming and infectiously enthusiastic about their products which range from a variety of local beans (Kona, Maui, Molokai, etc) to worldwide (Central & South America, Sumatran, etc) all of which are freshly roasted every week. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to meet their master roaster, Kamaka (also Kalani's big bro), who was out creating custom blends today. Anyway, I brought home a bag of the espresso and it is incredibly good! Smooth, nice crema, and not too acidic. Now I'm planning to convince my office manager to switch to these beans since we'd not only be supporting local but enjoying excellent coffee in the office as well. So if you're a fan of great coffee, I highly encourage you to stop by Koko Crater Coffee roasters and chat with Masami & Kalani.

Very good coffee, cheap, and kind service. It's a bit hidden, but the coffee is very good and extremely fresh

Great coffee. A little hard to find. Owner was super friendly, just like others have said. Coffee was such a good price too!

Staff is super friendly and the coffee is delicious. It beats any coffee I've had, hands down.

We ordered a mix of drinks: iced and hot kai lattes, an iced caramel frappé, and a cold brew for our family. Everything was delicious, but my personal favorite was the iced kai latte. Prices are reasonable for the quality you get, but honestly, the highlight of the visit was the service. While chatting with the cashier, I mentioned that I live here and surprisingly she offered me a kama'āina rate. This is not something I expect because I want to give my full support to a local business, but she smiled and said, "I got you." That small moment meant a lot, and it's exactly the kind of aloha spirit that makes a place memorable. Since it's a coffee-to-go setup, I didn't get to experience the interior, but the outside of the roastery has a really charming design. I'll definitely be back!

Ordering done through the small window on the corner but they did have spaces to enjoy your coffee right at the venue as well if you opted to. It was not overly busy but they did take awhile to get the orders ready. Prolly understandable given the server was the one accepting orders and also acting barista. She's just super sweet, making the wait bearable. We got their Kai latte, which was basically their signature latte served with house-made mac nut syrup. Great choice to try when you want to get something with Hawaiian touch, especially with the coffee being pretty good.

There is also a little coffee museum in the cafe that features the history of the company (they also provide coffee roastery tours!) My go-to drink is the iced creme brûlée latte. They do make it on the sweeter side and I also sometimes order it as a frappe. The baristas are friendly and quick in making the drinks. Parking here can be a bit hard as it is only street parking and it does get filled up since this cafe is located in an industrial area.

It's kind of a hole in the wall, unless you're looking for this spot you won't notice it's there even with the A frame sign. When you walk in you're greeted with bags of coffee and different types of teas and in the far back corner you will notice a coffee museum. I believe they do little tours here too. They cater to the tourist pretty well and are pretty friendly when they help them out, I have witnessed this first hand.
