I couldn't buy insurance, and items I begged Wailea Movers not to damage were precisely the things broken: one of three artworks completely demolished, my six-foot tall carved statue, the carved coffee table from Bali, and carved chest had a leg completely broken off. James, the head of the company, had me pay $1500 extra take apart and move my computer furniture, and neglected to tell the receiving movers they needed to put it back together, and of course they didn't. Ditto the sleep number bed. Wailea Movers could place blame on the movers in Florida, but the following could only have been done by them: the portable air conditioner in Hawaii was forcibly pulled out of the wall even though I left a note on it! No one in the crew admitted they'd done it, and I have unpacked everything in Florida, and it is not there. I think they took it for their own personal use since many lived together at the Maui Baseyard. And they all demanded to still be tipped! read more

The absolute worst moving experience of my life. I am a single woman who needed and was sold their "white glove service" that included re-assembling my antique furniture. I also wanted them to put the furniture in place and help me unpack the boxes. THAT IS WHY I HIRED THEM..james promised they would be so great and so fast. NONE of it happened. Three guys showed up and moved my things into the house just but didnt come close to finishing. They even left their tools and blankets here. It's five days later and I have to hire another company to finish the job. Charged me $2,000 and I just looked closely at the paperwork...James wrote, "Unpack only" on it! WTH? Wailea Movers charged me over $1100 to move my sofa, a paddleboard and a small surfboard from Kahana to Kihei. The sofa (less than a year old, expensive custom-made piece) got damaged in the process, but I was told I had to pay in full before filing a claim, which I did (leaving me with zero leverage), but their claims process is so detailed and convoluted that it makes it nearly impossible to comply with all of their documentation requirements. The guys doing the move said they would come back the next day to repair it, but of course that never happened. I would have thought that paying the high-end price for moving a small number of items would have come with exceptional service, but I'm sadly disappointed. read more

In all our moves between the mainland and Hawaii, and between islands, this was the BEST move yet - thanks to Wailea Movers Inc! Not only was this our first time to use Wailea Movers; this was our FIRST time to ever use a moving company! Turns out we chose the right one and the BEST! James, the contact person, was very pleasant to work with and personable. He was very clear in what to expect of his workers, and he answered any questions I had regarding moving day. My husband usually handles this part of a move, but he was not able to fly back from the mainland, due to medical issues. Jason and Dion worked hard and quickly during the time that they were here. They took the occasional bathroom breaks, but they did not even stop for a snack or lunch break. I didn't have much furniture for them to load on to the 20 ft. container- mainly boxes and storage cabinets/containers. The weather was perfect for a moving day - overcast and slightly breezy . Both guys loaded and unloaded the items to make sure there was very little shifting in the container. I was very impressed with their work ethic. They are both very polite young men. The cost to use Wailea Movers was very reasonable, especially since our container is bound for Seattle-Vancouver, WA. If anyone needs a reputable moving company, I would highly recommend WAILEA MOVERS INC! A big shoutout to James, Jason , & Dion for representing your business well - you guys are the BEST! The move started out fine. I watched one of their movers drag the corner of our couch (brand new still in plastic $5000) down the metal ramp. I stopped the guys to show the damage and they said "no problem we have insurance". Great. Sounds good. Things happen. I didn't care if they replaced or just had an upholstery guy repair it. Either way they sent me so some Scam moving insurance company called "Moving Claim Services". I sent them the claim, photos, description etc. 30 days later I follow up with them to check on my claim. They lady at that company said she didn't receive the claim. Which is total BS. Either way I sent in the claim again as to play her game. I follow up a few times again and they tell me claims can take 90-120 days and that my claim is in process. 90 days later I follow up again with Moving Claim Services and again they tell me they did not receive the claim. Really? you did not receive my claim? You mean the claim that you responded to multiple emails from me and said the claim was in process? At this point I reach out to James at Wailea Movers to assist with the insurance company that they provided me. James completely ignored me at this point. I sent Wailea Movers several emails and called them many times to fix this issue. They chose to ignore me time and time again. I hate leaving negative reviews on companies but I have exhausted all options and gave them so many chances to assist in correcting their error. They could care less after they have been paid. I would look elsewhere for a moving company. read more

We owe a BIG MAHALO to Wailea Movers!!!! We were pressed for time, but luckily when we called Wailea Movers (based on a friend's suggestion and recent experience), James was able to coordinate help for us! We had a container to load with household goods on Saturday October 10th; it was Thursday, October 8th. This also required loading goods to protect a classic car which was already loaded and anchored on/in the container. James worked closely with me throughout the day to set up the move; he also followed-up to confirm that all had gone well after the move. James also was great about further coordinating Christopher to return for the goods to be rearranged to fit the 2nd car! Christopher and Deion were on time, efficient, professional and kind. They treated our household goods with all the care of their favorite Auntie or Grandmothers. They definitely wrapped and packed and loaded our things far better than we ever could. There was a good deal more than anticipated to load, but they were gracious and tenacious in finishing the job! We had no idea how much help we needed! Two days later, Monday, October 12th, the container was due to be picked up. Christopher and Deion had been able to well-contain the household items with room to spare. So much room, in fact, that we measured and with some additional packing and maneuvering, we found we would be able to fit a 2nd car on the container (with a little help)! Christopher returned early Monday morning to shift and rearrange our household goods to ensure that the car would fit... and it did! We saved a great deal of money not having to ship the car separately. ALL of our goods arrived in Billings, Montana this past Tuesday, November 3rd, in GREAT SHAPE! The cars were in good shape! The container, on opening, was "as was", when it left from Maui. These guys know what they are doing and were all of reliable and professional and kind, and in our case absolutely went the extra mile! Thank you Wailea Movers! We have used most of the moving companies on island and hands down James and his crew are the very best. They are so hardworking, responsive, and professional. We had a 3 bedroom house with a lot of furniture and the crew hustled, but were so careful with the floors and walls. We have a mirrored dresser and unfortunately accidents happened and one of the drawers cracked. James went above and beyond to contact the store to get a replacement, but couldn't get one shipped to Hawaii so he had a handyman fix it and it looks brand new! So happy with their service. If I could give it no stars I would. Never ever EVER again. The main guy that was moving my furniture took a shit in my bathroom without asking and he went out of his way to close the windows and door when he was done. I opened the door and it REAKED of feces and alcohol. This was all after he ripped my couch (his boss ended up discounting me) and called his boss (in front of me!) to complain about the money he was losing because he ripped my couch. I should have called his boss again but I didn't want to be THAT person, so I just didn't tip them and called it a day. Terrible experience. Wouldn't go with them again. read more

James was very efficient in confirming a last minute move yesterday at 5 PM. Within the hour I was able to coordinate the delivery for the next day and he and Kawika showed up the next day. Fast, friendly service. Minimum two hours required at $150 per hour, 1/4 of the time charged after the 1st two hours. It was a rough start to actually get to the location where the merchandise was waiting to be picked up. Maybe about 15 minutes delay finding where to pick up but they got there and began to load. All I did was confirm the number of pieces that was supposed to be delivered and contact the property management who was receiving on behalf of the customer who bought everything that was being picked up. I'd used them again and I suggest you give them a try. read more

Will not ever use this company again!! We hired them to move all contents out of a one bedroom condo and the entire experience was horrible!! The move out we left a not so great review through their review system they email, so I won't go into details about it. Then came time for the return of all the contents, I'll just give a brief of part of what happened, they mislabeled boxes, put glass items in with other items, did not write fragile therefore many items were broken. Well they use a third party company to handle their claims and not only has this been going on for months now, but Wailea Movers is not wanting to own up to their lack in professionalism and is trying to get the claim denied even though their manager/owner showed up to the condo and was physically shown some of the broken items. He even took a photo of one of them himself and kept saying we just needed to file a claim. We did not even sign the final paperwork (which we have with no signature) yet they want to say we did so that means we were fine with everything. This is a very poor way of doing business and if you are going to be a mover you need to first off hire people who can get the job done and take responsibility for the damages done by your incompetent people. read more
